Years have passed since our tales last chapter, and for the Kingdom of Nowhere it had been a good couple of years! Its armies had swept through the Dictatorship of Anywhere at all, subjugating its nasty people and conquering its evil cities! And through it all there was fierce fighting. Soon enough The capital of Anywhere at all, the metropolis called Somewhere close by, was sacked by Nowhere's army. Anywhere's back was shattered, and its nation chopped up by the conquering nation.

However, it became very clear to everyone that the former soldiers of Anywhere at all could not simply be reintegrated into the population without problems developing, and so Nowhere created the prison camps.

I know, a bit less fun loving then what we would expect. Blame Cerebus. But suffice to say The whole prison idea did not go over well for the Good aligned people of Nowhere. But..... there was no other choice and so The prison camps were allowed to exist.

Our tale takes place at one such camp. Where the complex politics of the camp are in motion, with Spies from La' resistance, prison guards, and a mysterious visitor.

Day phases last 24 or so hours, nights last same amount of time.

However, even though this is a normal mafia game there is a new element added to the game, and that is the fact that we are in a prison camp. Hear me out here.
There are two main types of townies in the game Prisoners, and Prison guards. Both have a conflicting goal in the game, even though they can still both technically “win” the game together.
You see, the new mechanic is that each night phase both types of townies have a ability. Prisoners have Escape, and Prison guards have Guard the prisoners.
The way things work are that each guard is able to block two prisoners trying to escape. Consider them worth 2 points. Each prisoner is worth 1 point. At the end of the night phase I add up all the points and compare.
Say 5 prisoners try and escape and 3 guards are protecting them. Prisoners=5 Guards=6, so the guards win and no prisoners escape.
For each point the prisoners beat the guards however, one prisoner is able to escape. Soooo…
If those same 5 prisoners sent in the escape order, and only 2 guards did the same then the score is, Prisoners=5, Guards=4 so one prisoner escapes.

Of note is the fact that if a prisoner escapes he gets a minor victory automatically, but if the town still loses, well that minor victory is all he gets. For a major victory he may want to stay around and see the mafia lynched.

That is about it. A backdrop of conflict, however can the town work together long enough to defeat a mutual enemy?

I know for sure that my participation in Pirate ship mafia is going to go down to nill because of this, I just hope enough people are dead in it to get 17 people together. :juggle2: if not I will just have to lower the number of people in the game to whatever I scrap together.

Alright All role PM's are out. THe framework for the story is set.

I suggest most of you do a quick reread of the end of the first Mafia, Particularly the last writeup.


The story will be up in an hour or so, and with it the first day phase will begin.

Townieville was quiet….. And yet still Achoo sensed something….. it was in the air, all around him. He stood tense, his staff by his side, ready for anything……
He never saw it coming. A bolt of red energy spiked from behind him, cutting through the wards he had placed on his clothing, and throwing him 10 feet forward. A creature stepped forward from the darkness behind Achoo, huge demonic fangs and horns jutting from his head, wings flapping behind its back.
“I have returned Achoo. It has taken years, years of toil, years of pain. But I am back, with strength enough to end you and this pathetic town. Vengeance is at hand for you, you pathetic arch mage!” Hid clawed fingers flexed, and a grisly smile came over his face.
Achoos sat, blood pooling from the wound he had suffered. “This is….. Expected. I had always known that getting an apprentice was the stupidest move I ever made. I swear, You would think wizards would have stopped getting them considering all they are ever good for is getting their master killed.” A smile came over Achoos face as well, but this was genuine. “But I regret nothing. Spare the town Reenkis. Please they have done nothing to you.”
“Nothing!? You ALL played a part in my death. And so you shall all suffer. Foolish Achoo, Now you DIE!” The demon lunged forward, claws reaching out towards Achoos throat. The claws etched deeply into his skin. And in his final moments Achoo let out a garbled laugh. He whispered slightly as he fell to the ground. “in death you only make me stronger.”
Reenkis laughed “What does this look like to you? Star wars? Have fun in whatever plane you end up, because I assure you when I am done here I will hunt you even in death!” He turned to the town, and scoffed. “only one thing to do at a time like this. Gratuitous amounts of violence.”…..
The town was a burning wreck by morning. And Reenkis nowhere to be seen, Only a portrait of Achoo’s apprentice remained, a man Called Death is Yonder, now name Gesundheit, in honor of his master. (And no, just because that is his name does not mean Death Is Yonder is Gesundheit. I am not THAT stupid. If there is a role in the game with your name you have just as much chance of getting it as everyone else.)

The man looked up at the wall surrounding the prison camp, rubbing his hand on his face. The cold bleakness of night was setting in, and he could not stay out here for long. “well that is a problem I did not think of.”
Two other men walk up behind him, one a young rogue, the other a burly man hidden in a cloak. “need some help?” the rogue asked.
The first man nodded “Yes thank you.”
The two went to there knees and helped the first up and over the wall.
“So what are you doing here?”
“ohh just breaking into the camp. You?”
“oh we are doing the same. Small world.”
“yes I guess so.”
They all made it over the wall, and parted ways not looking back once as they went to different parts of the camp.
……
A portal opened in the camp, into the deep darkness of ngiht. And a gaunt and naked figure appeared. The creature looked around the room and nodded with his empty face. He was a strange creature, with a body without any marks or features, simply a blank slate waiting to be filled. His face was simply two grey eyes and a sunken in Mouth, with no cheeks to speak of.
A guard turned a corner, almost running smack dap into the creature. “What the hell?” He stuttered and fell back trying to free his sword. The creature was faster however, and with one punch snapped the guards neck and sent him flying.
The monster made a odd chuckle and moved in on the guard, teeth growing into large fangs.
……

They saw the death as soon as the morning bell was rang. His arms and legs were torn to pieces. And his face….. His face was just…. Gone, into thin air. It unnerved everyone, the guards, the prisoners.
The Captain of the guard, he was terrified, He was going to be court marshaled for sure! He needed a scapegoat, or maybe even a suspect. And he needed it fast. Drastic measures needed to be taken. Well, no other choice then. “all of you! We need to figure out who killed Bob, and Fast! Here how it is going to work. Each day we will all cats a vote, and whoever gets the most votes gets executed as the murderer!” The captain Nods, “Yes that is a perfect Idea! Well, don’t look at me, get started!”






Begin Day one. It shall end October 17 at 8:00 AM, to give everyone a chance to figure out the game is on.

Also It has occurred to me that those who were not in SaD20's 1 might not know what the levels in their PM are.

Level plays a part in whether a kill attempt succeed or fails. Basically the higher the better. :yes:
say a level 7 attacked a level 7, The attacker has a 25% chance of the kill succeeding, due to how close in level they are.

however if a level 9 attacked a level 5 then he has almost a 90% of success. :yes:

Day One End:

The guards and the prisoners were both surprised by the captain of the guard’s choice. But hey, when you are given to opportunity to kill somebody based on gut suspicion then why not do it? Fierce arguing began, and it soon became quite clear that everyone was out for blood, and they wanted it fast. The Prisoners let wild accusations fly, and it almost resulted in a fist fight between the guards and prisoners, but soon enough things quieted down. Some men felt ashamed for their former blood lust and chose to abstain on the ballot. But mostly people chose a side and stuck to it. A prisoner that was known to all by the name Atheotes came under suspicion. Many looked back at his impressive track record of lying and decided he must have been the one who killed Bob. Atheotes argued his innocence for a while, but soon realized he had no chance of surviving…. He stood silently in the center of the crowd of men head held high as they finished up the ballot.
The captain of the guard returned from dinner and looked around “Well? You lot chose your traitor?”
One of the guards spoke up “you bet we have Captain! That Atheotes is the scum who killed Bob! We all know it is true!” They all took a threatening step towards Atheotes, many grasping at whatever they could for a weapon.
Atheotes smirked slightly, any respect he had for death having been lost. “I just want to say one thing before you guys tear me apart. Where is the justice? Look around at what you have done Nowhere. You have become us. I was willing to look past that and help you guards out, but I can see that was foolish.” He looked up to the ceiling, a wide smile coming over him “You will all get what is coming to you. I feel that now.” He continued smiling as the crowd circled in closer and closer, some taking out swords and readying to strike. Atheotes simply kept smiling “long live Anywhere.”

He was torn to pieces. Guard and Prisoner alike fell over him, beating him with wooden chair legs, stabbing him with swords. Whatever it took to reduce him to -9 HP. It was over quickly, with little left of the body. The captain of the guard was astounded. His mouth was slightly agape.

“Well… uhhh. That is done. Everyone back to your rooms, nothing to see here.” He looked at the mess of Atheotes left on the floor and shook his head.

Atheotes stood up from the gaming table. “What the heck guys? Seriousl AGAIN! UGH! How am I supposed to have fun in this if you guys are gonna kill me off every game.”
Khazaar looked up, a bit annoyed “come on man, you have to admit, it was a possibility. Last time you did end up being scum.”
“yeah and you ended up being a Cat Khazaar, what is your point?”
CDF bangs his head against the wall. “I am starting the game again, work this out later. Alright so it is now the nigh…..”
Atheotes intterupts “it just Pisses me off is all.”
CDF blurts out the rest hoping not to be interrupted. “IT IS THE NIGHT PHASE. EVERYONE SHUT UP AND SEND IN ORDERS.”

Night One:

Askthepizzaguy was walking down the prison camp, minding his own business, when he felt a shadow fall across him.
A man was standing on top of one of the Prisoners Bunkers, his face masked in shadows. He grasped a staff in one hand and his other was pointed straight at Atpg’s head. “FREEZE!” the figure said. “put your hands behind you head and get on the ground!”
Atpg was confused “wait, should I freeze or put my hands on my head?”

The figure face palmed his head with his hand “Come on man, my intention was obvious! I want you to stop moving and then place your hands on your head and drop to the ground. And after THAT stay frozen!” He dropped his hand from his head and looked down. Atpg was halfway down the camp, running for his life. “ohhhh I see, a distraction…. Clever.”
He snapped his fingers and levitated into the air, moving forward through it and flying.

He gained quickly on the slow moving Pizza guy. And soon came in range “And now! Obscuring mist!” a deep and heavy fog rose from the ground around Atpg, and he groped around blindly.

“Muhahahah!” the figure said, and he touched the ground and his hands began to glow……
The mist dissipated in a 15 minutes, and Atpg found himself trapped in a small cage made of stone. He sighed, looks like he was not going anywhere tonight….



Faction heir was heading towards where everyone was expecting to start the escape attempt for tonight. And He was pretty happy. With Bob dead maybe they had a REAL chance at getting out of this dump! He walked deep in thought, and did not really pay attention to what was going on around him. So when a man snuck up behind him he did not really realize it until the sword was coming out of its sheath. The metallic sound woke him from his stupor, and he whirled around. A fighter stood behind him, bedecked in heavy armor and weapons. His long sword was out and ready to Impale Faction heir!

“whaaa? But you guards are supposed to be protecting us…” Faction heir stuttered it out, taking out a small club he kept on him.

“Bob was not killed By Atheotes. We all know that Faction heir. YOU did it! It’s the only explanation. Now feel the righteous wrath of a PC!” He Lunged forward sword skimming Faction heirs chest before the club deflected it.

“DUDE NOT COOL! I am not going to let you kill me for no good reason! I DID NOT KILL BOB!” Faction heir growled and raised the club for a massive hit to his attackers helmeted head.
It was like ringing a gong. The PC fell back in shock at the hit, and Faction heir turned to run away….. Right into a wall of flame. A second attacker walked from behind a bunker, this one not human in the slightest. The demon walked forward towards the wall of hellfire, stepping in and pulling Faction heir from its clutches. His body was burned and broken, his club a piece of tinder. But he still clung to life.

“oops, prisoner. Well, you can’t save em all I guess.” He stabbed faction heir in the gut with his talons and let the corpse fall to the ground. The demon turned around, hardly giving the guard only five feet behind him any thought. For that The warrior was grateful… The prisoners hit had really hurt……

Death is yonder was heading towards his bunker when a old lady started approaching him. Wow, it was his mom…..
“Young man! You are just horrible terrible! How did you end up in this run down old place! Come here, let momma get you a proper dinner! You look famished!”
The lady grabbed Death is Yonder and led him towards his room. Where she opened up a bottle of Champagne and set it down at their table. She poured two glasses of it and set one in front of herself and one in front of Death is yonder.

Death is yonder was confused “you are not my mother.”

“Ohh honey how could you even think that! Drink up. By the way have you ever seen the princess bride?”

“OF COURSE! LOVE THAT MOVIE! Wait…. Is this a battle of wits?”

“yes Honey. The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide and we both drink and who is right and who is dead.”

“But it's so simple. All I have to do is divine it from what I know of you: are you the sort of woman who would put the poison into her own cup or that of her enemies. Now, a clever man would put the poison into his own goblet because he would know that only a great fool would reach or what he is given. I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you. But you must have known that I am not a great fool, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.”

“You've made your decision then?” Said the lady.
“Not remotely! Because the poison must come from Anywhere at all. As everyone knows, Anywhere at all is entirely peopled with criminals. And criminals are used to having people not trust them as you are not trusted by me. So I can clearly not choose the wine in front of you.”
“Truly, you have a dizzying intellect.”
“Wait 'til I get going! Where was I?”

“Anywhere at all.”

“And you must have suspected that I would have known the poison's origin, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me!”

“You're just stalling now.”

“You'd like to think that, wouldn't you? You've snuck into the camp, which means that you're exceptionally strong...so you could have put the poison in your own cup, depending on your strength to save you, so clearly I cannot choose the wine in front of you. But you've also Impersonated my mother, which means you must have studied and in studying you must have learned that man is mortal, so you would have put the poison as far from yourself as possible, so I can clearly not choose the wine in front of me.“

“You're trying to trick me into giving away something. It won't work.”

“It has worked! You've given everything away! I know where the poison is”

“Then make your choice.”

“I will and I choose...What in the world can that be?” Death is Yonder points behind the lady.
The lady turns around, looking expectantly “What? Where? I don't see anything.”

Death is Yonder quickly switches the glasses of champagne. “Oh, well, I-I could have sworn I saw something. No matter.” Death is Yonder starts to laugh
“What's so funny?”

“I'll tell you in a minute. First, let's drink -- me from my glass, and you from yours.”
And he picks up his Glass. The Lady picks up the one in front of him. As they both start to drink, Death is Yonder hesitates a moment.
Then, allowing the lady to drink first, he swallows his champagne.

“You guessed wrong.” The lady says.

“You only think I guessed wrong! That's what's so funny! I switched glasses when your back was turned! Ha ha! You fool! You fell victim to one of the classic blunders! The most famous is never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Prisoner when death is on the line!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!! Ha ha ha—“

The lady cuts in “ You fool! The glasses were both poisoned! I have been working up an immunity to that poison for years.”

Death is yonder smiles broadly “so have I!” The lady is shocked, and leaps through the window, leaving Death is yonder to his maniacal laughter.

Death is Yonder has been attacked and survived.


The prisoner lined up behind one of the bunkers. All of them with escape on their minds. And By all of them, I mean the one man who decided to show up. He steeled himself and ran forward towards the wall. Where he was met by the two guards who ALSO decided to show up. The prisoner saw himself running into suicide and turned right back around.
One of the guards called out to him “hey, what are you doing out tonight?”
He stifled a cry “ummm…. You know, a good old jog in the moonlight. Keep my spirits up….. Just gonna head back to my cold dark bunker now.”
“yeah you do that, and tell the prisoners we are on to them! Jogs my foot!”
“ummm yeah. Will do.”

No escapee's tonight!



The captain of the guard called everyone to the main courtyard in the morning. Atheotes blood having been cleaned in the night.
“Well. We have a problem. Another dead and we are still no closer to finding whoever killed Bob and Faction heir. So I thought we might as well keep doing what we are doing. Pick another traitor people!”

In the original Swords and D20's, we had 1 main Mafia (me) and two Mafia that could kill together as well as having a one shot solo attempt.

The fact that there is doubt that one of the killers was even Mafia makes me think the block on Atpg stopped it.

The fist part is a D&D joke so to say, the prestigclasses Assasin and Ninja have poisonimmunity. If the writeup is just for flavor or has some truth behind it I don´t know. But the fact remains that you survived an attack with poison and there´s probably a reason why.
If I was the killer I certainly wouldn´t talk about it, I´m not quite that bold (or crazy as other people might be). I would avoid getting into some sort of WIFOM situation (pun intended ;-) ).

1. A pro-town vigilante AND a Demon attacked Factionheir. Therefore I am not a vig or a demon.

Day 2



The Men and women of the camp decided who was to die next, and it was Reenk Roink (not to be confused With Reenkis Roinkis of course. And so he was lead forward to be brutally mauled. The guards readied there swords and spells and marched forward towards Reenk. Two held his arms as a third readied a sword thrust to Reenks neck.

Reenk simply laughed “Idiots do not know when you are bested.” His face, melted away, leaving only a gaunt human form with no features once again. He jerked his arms upward, throwing both guards off into the air. He punched forward with his fist catching the guard in front of him, still shocked by Reenks change, in the chest. The armor the guard had crumpled like paper, leaving him gasping for breath. The PC’s looked shock, but quickly reassessed the position

“ummmm guys.” Said Gesundheit “we have a problem.”

A very strong Fighter looked up “oh ok, Fighter smash.” He charged forward and brandished his lightly glowing blade. He cut downwards to Reenk, who dodged by a hairs breath. He retaliated with a kick to AVSF groin. Which bent his codpiece, and did not go to gentle on the jewels either.


Reenk laughed and turned towards everyone else looking at the unconscious mass of Guards before him “hah you fools are no match for me! Roy will die! I have never missed a mark!”


Schism stepped forward, his mace coming out of its sheath. “foul beast of the damned, prepare to be smote!” He chanted a word and the mace glowed with a deep and holy light. He slammed the Creature in the arm, tearing Reenks arm off at the elbow. He howled and his face turned far more bestial, growing long fangs and talons, as well as causing his skin to roil.
He looked at the cleric but then a smile appeared on his face, and the fangs disappeared. He turned himself into a exact replica of Schism. He grabbed the real cleric and threw him along with himself to the ground. Both rolled around before standing again. The other PC stood on watching deeply confused as to who was the real cleric.


Both Schism’s pointed to each other. Franticly claiming there legitimacy.
Isamu snapped his hands, “I have an idea! We can ask them a question only Schism would know!”
He rubbed his chin “OK, what is my real name!”

They both chanted in Harmony “Tratorix!”


Isamu looks disheartened. “ummm ok my Idea is spent. Lets just kill them both.”
One schism burst out angerly “you know what forget this! I am the highest paid doppelganger in the Astral realm. I do not need this job! But you better believe I will be back you idiots!” he grabbed a gem from a place in the back of his head then threw it to the ground. A portal opened up, which he took no time entering.


After he left the camp was strangely quite, and the captain of the guard looked shocked “well, uhhhh, time for the night I guess. Get some sleep”

Night 2:

DIY was sitting on a bench in the camp when a shadow fell over him. He turned around right into a cloud of noxious gas that the masked man had brought on him. He hacked and coughed before falling to his knees. The masked figure laughed and his hands glowed once again.
And so DIY ended up in a stone cage ALLL night long.


The prisoner lined up in the hall where everyone else was supposed to show up “what the hell! AGAIN” he stamps his feet and walks back to his room. Annoyed that no one else seems to care about getting out of this dump.
No escapees AGAIN…….

The captain called the group together in the morning, when disaster struck! SlashandBurn was dead on the ground from a heart attack due to sheer boredom. Slashandburn, other wise known as “honey” was dead. It was a surprise to everyone, but the captain of the guard just said to everyone “ well, Looks like everything might be back to normal…. That is unfortunately a good choice for the set of circumstances.

I have some suspicions on a couple of people based on posts, such as some one saying a townie was guilty last phase, but nothing on I found out otherwise.

Right, sorry. From what it looks like, the previous Battle Royale's themselves looked like a huge ton of work, especially with the proclamation that complicated orders may yield better results :shame:

I'll stick to my original gut feeling from last round, before Khazaar saw fit to make an interesting case on me :juggle2:

Personal reason? Like in-game personal reason or out-of-game personal reason.
in game of course, i meant like evidence.

Because I have evidence he is a town role, it might be in your role pm to kill him or get him lynched or whatever, but it just strikes it is weird you are trying to kill a townie.

Also, you are voting ATPG, saying before he was a town role, but now "random, or is it?".


However, voting DIY seems to also be a good option. I will weigh it up before the end of round to see if I will change to him or not.

Day three:


The votes were tallied, and DIY was chosen to be eliminated. Everyone looked around, but DIY was no where to be seen….. Everyone grew uneasy, and looked around cautiously. “Where did he go?” Gezundheight said, opening his second sight with a quick incantation.

A laugh broke the area “I am right over here guys!” Diy appeared for a moment and flung one of the guards head over heel into the Prison wall. Then disappeared just as fast.

The PC’s backed in a circle, A very strong fighter brandishing his sword, Schism wielding his mace, Isamu wielding his short swords, and Gezundheight holding his staff up. They looked around cautiously while everyone else started moving to get their backs to a wall.

Roy raised his voice “where the $@!! is he?”

A prisoner laughed “where is he? WHAT IS HE!”

A unearthly laugh filled the air “ohh, a little of this and a little of that.” DIY appeared in front of the prisoners, and hoisted two up into the air. He flung them towards two guards, sending all four into a heap. DIY laughed again and stepped towards the PC’s. “It makes me wonder why it had to end like this. I was just doing my job people. No reason to kill a man who has never betrayed his country in his life.”


Isamu laughed, “Cut the Bull DIY! Its over. Now stand still while we etch intricate signs into your face with our swords. No reason this can’t be amicable.”

DIY puts a hand to his chest and looks shocked “Why of course, come on over.” He puts his hands by his side, a smirk on his face.


Isamu looks a bit perturbed, but gestures forward with his sword, and he along with AVSF (a very strong fighter) and 3 guards moved forward to engulf DIY. For a minute it looked like DIY had been buried under the guards. A single punch and a guard went flying, a kick and 2 more flew. Leaving only Isamu and AVSF battling him. DIY yawned slightly as he blocked each hit with his forearm. His clothes became tatters around him, but still he fought on. A kick to Isamu’s shins brought him down, clutching his broken leg. AVSF fought on, sword flying, looking back at Schism and Gezundheight, who were in frantic spell casting. Schisms spell went off first, engulfing DIY in a holy fire, which he emerged from, his skin blistered but still fighting.


AVSF fell back, his face bloodied by a sucker punch to the jaw. Gezundheight tried to finish his spell, only to have it fizzle when DIY turned towards him and smiled.


“Now you.” He said and walked calmly forward. He stood next to Gezundheight, and his hand straightened. “good bye Gezundheight.” The hand launched forward, breaking apart the wards on His robes and tearing through his chest and lung.


Gezundheight coughed a huge droplet of blood, almost fainting from pain. DIY smiled even wider “and now, everyone else dies. Blame yourself you fool. You brought this on yourself” Those words shocked Gezundheight from his stupor, and he grasped at DIY’s arm.


He had enough strength for one last phase….. “NO…… NO more.” His eyes glowed a deep blue, and his lips formed the necessary words. His hands glowed a stony gray, and slowly DIY turned into marble. His eyes widened “how did you do this? You can’t contain a spell like that. You have doomed us both!”


Gezundheight was the one who smiled now, blood running down his cheek “I… kkkknnnowww. Long…… live….. nowhere……” The spell spread to Gezundheight as well now, locking the two in place in an enchantment of stone. Gezundheight’s face was the last to change, and he turned to the camp “ggggoooodddd bye…..” and then he was frozen there, his face locked in a smile.


Schism moved forward, tears streaming down his face “NNNNOOOOOO!” He launched his will at the stone, hoping to break the enchantment, but it was no use. The marble held firm.


Guards and prisoners began picking themselves up now, staring at the statues with a mixture of tears and anger.

The captain of the guard was not sure what to say. “I….. Someone get the wounded to the infirmary. And everyone. Don’t let Gezundheight sacrifice go to waste…… Just.... get some sleep everyone...” He slowly walked away, seemingly in shock.


Death is Yonder has been lynched, and Khazaar has been smote.
