I've never even heard of half these games.

Ah, but that was a voice synthesizer. Only the text was in the actual game.

Yeah, but it was still terrible.
Main screen turn on.
Wow. ~
While Rome Total War probably has the worst voice acting of any video/PC game I've ever played myself, I have to admit that most of these are even worse. :gah2:

I remember Dynasty Warriors 3. Half of the lines were done by a man with no voice other than a hoarse, high-pitched shout.
IT'S LUU BUUUUUUUUU!!!
No.16 had me laughing out loud.
"Before you die, I`m going to tell you a little secret, just to make it so that you really don`t want to die."
LOL!
Worst I ever encountered was in Sanitarium, which was a pity for such a good game

I remember that the English dub of Battle Isle 2220 was comically bad, but that was a dub, I'm sure it was far better in its original language.

No mention of Deus Ex?
Son, I am disappoint.
And let's not forget Knights of Xantar, the (H)JRPG from the 90s.
Yep. Hong Kong 'accents' in Deus Ex. Hands down.

Oh yes, if you are disregarding the completely monotone and robotic voices (especially by JC).
Froggy's "favourite" character is the worst.
Lymle aka monotone 'kay girl.
FUZION FRENZY 2
ABSOLUTELY AWFUL VOICE OVERS
WORSE THAN AWFUL!

Wow, when I was a kid and played mega-man I never noticed the guy with the speech impediment. Too funny

I though JC's voice was pretty good for his character. But only Bob Page's was quality.

That seemed perfectly suitable to the character to me, I mean he is no normal human. Putting to much emotion in it would also ruin your choice of what type a character you are playing.
How are you gentlemen!!

Ha! You sir do not know what speak of. RTW has great voice acting, what little of it there is. I've played a few of the games on that list. And seen some of the others played. Compared to the acting in any of the _____ Warriors games the RTW VA is a :daisy::daisy: masterpiece.
How does it fail to include Battalion Wars 2? The voice acting of one character is so bad, I couldn't finish the game. The idiot dies later on by being poisoned in the most unsubtle way imaginable, but I din't make it up to that bit. Fort a quick taster, try this. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5CsLbcdun6s&feature=related). Keep listening, and remember that you have to endure him whining about every move you do. A shame, since it was a decent game.

I will give a ballon to myself for that...

OK, I just realized we've got one that takes the cake, puts Deus Ex's Hong Kongery to shame.
Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion.

You mean the war-cries?
"EyEEHAHAHEHAYEHA"
No, I mean the fact that approx. 4 people voiced THE ENTIRE GAME.

I play virtually all my video games with the sound off... so never noticed these.
The best arcade game ever made had one of the strangest voice-over goofs in history. The X-men Arcade.

Not a well known game.
I have it downstairs, and the voices have downgraded it qulaity from the first one. Euugh.
Worst voicing?
"HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!! I swear to the gods, that when Link finds Navi in the sequel to MM, I will kill her.

Despite lips being out of sync most the time, I thought it was fairly good and no games voice overs are that varied really...
It was good for the first half-hour, provided you got past the horrible, horrible interface (before the days of Darnified UI). Then you realized that everyone sounds the same. If anything the game is a poster child for why complete voice overs are incredible wastes of time and money, and limit far more than they add to the experience and modding. Besides, I thought that a lot of the voices were very shallow and didn't show any variation or 'human-ness'. Though it's not like Deus Ex had stellar voice acting either, if anything it was more a layer of comedy on top of a badass game.
wut, Deus Ex had great voice acting, bit thick but perfectly suitable
Agreed, Deus Ex's voice acting was superb. Yeah, not all of it, but most of it. It really set a mood.
Frag, you gotta stop having my opinion or someone may figure out that you are my alt account...shhhh!

The first was OK IMHO. Cheesy, but bearable. However, I physically could not continue playing, as that thing's voice was the equivalent of slowly pushing very sharp, very cold icicles into my ears.
"HEY!!! HEY!!!HEY!!!...ad infinitum
I swear to the gods, that when Link finds Navi in the sequel to MM, I will kill her.
I never thought it to be annoying for some reason. Then again, I was about 7/8 when I played OOT, meaning I originally found Tingle amusing (Thankfully, that stopped a long time ago), found redeads horrifying, and the Water Temple impossible. However, it appears that as Zelda games have got easier (WW, TP), people's ability to complete has declined at a faster rate. My sister has a 13 year old friend who is stuck on TP at the fish bit. Not that red, stinky fish, but the fish you have to catch at the very start of the game. Oh how times have changed.
