View Full Version : Large Mafia Game That Creeping Darkness [Concluded]
Why are you (Psycho Zero), White_Eyes:D (Ada) and AVSM all dancing for Andres?
:clown: I keep telling YLC I'm a crotchety old biddy wearing a housedress with curlers in her hair, and not some sweet young thing, but he thinks he knows better.

I would like to remind everbody that killing Psychic 0 was my only objective (cf. the OP of this game).
Since I reached my goal, I am now a neutral character. I know there are cultists among you, both dead and living.
I also know that most non alligned townies are dead. The townies who have not been recruited by the cultists are indeed a minority.
Whichever cult makes me the best offer, will get my help.
If the cults wish to work together to get rid of the threat of Azathoth, then I can help.
If the cults want me for something else, I can help.
Small favours, like protecting or killing. I can even save you from being lynched.
My pm box is open. Make me a decent offer (guaranteed survival of this game would be nice) and I'll help.
I'm not at all impressed with the offers made by Ada so far. Either get your act together or you'll find me on the opposing side :smug:
Ok, fine.
I know the Ghost Council doesn't trust Ada.
I know I want to survive this game.
You have to take my word for one thing: my only objective was to kill Psychic 0. I was not instructed to eliminate other Psychis (so I assume only Psychic 0 was evil) and my role pm doesn't say anything about Gods or cults. With the dead of Psychic 0, I'm as neutral as can be.
If you can guarantee my survival, I will work with you.
Here's the deal:
a) The only way to eliminate White_Eyes:D is by lynching him. You want to keep him alive, because he's useful, but you don't trust him (I don't trust him either). I say: town votes Stay of Execution : White_Eyes:D. One word from the Ghost Council and/or the majority of the townies and he'll die on the spot. No word and he stays alive.
b) I will only kill as ordered by your representative. It's probably better to use someone who's alive, to assure discretion.
c) You already control me, because you discovered my second henchman. You think he's Nyxius, but you're wrong. When he dies, I die too. Simple. You know I want to survive, so you have nothing to fear from me. I backstab you, I die.
d) we work together to eliminate the threat of Azathoth.
e) I get more information about Azathoth, the cults, the Gods, because at the moment, I have some pieces of the puzzle, but not enough.
Can the Ghost Council and the town accept this?
I just love how you openly say you're going to start attacking townies and then 5 minutes later you want to be our friend.

End Day 7...
not done yet :s
"Doctor Lovell came to our town, and our homes, and invaded our lives 6 days ago! He has scoured the very people, killing at whim! He has no conscious, nor feelings for those lives he shatters!"
The crowd before the youthful man roared in approval. After the death of psychic zero, opposition had started to grow towards Lovell's tyrannical rule. At first, it had only been grumblings, yet at the end of the day, this one man had galvanized them to do the unthinkable - riot, rebel, overthrow the man who sought dominion over them.
" Will we tolerate this any longer! Will we, the good people of this small town, humble in our lives but proud in our hearts, in our work, and in our independence, let this monster, who would kill a young woman who was with child, and then celebrate it as his most glorious achievement? THIS IS THE MAN YOU WISH TO RULE YOU? This murder and defiler of what we hold closest to our hearts? This shameful beast, who revels in overthrowing peaceful governments, who galvanizes the once placid people into murdering their own friends and family based on his views?!"
Aagain, the crowd roared in agreement, vengeance in their eyes.
"How many of us must fall victim before we realize he turns us all into monsters, just like him! Use his dark, twisted malformed excuse for a heart to break the good will and sense of the people. How he preaches peace and restoration, when it his men, under his employ, who slaughter thousands, burns cities, and defile our greatest achievements!"
"I say no more! I SAY NO MORE! It shall end here, with us! We will take up arms, we will show this Lovell that he is not master, he is not the puppeteer, he is not a going to be our butcher any longer!"
The crowd roared with defiance and triumph, lighting torches and cocktails, arming their guns, waving whatever they found in their homes that might do harm to the demon of a man that is Lovell.
Throwing his arm out sharply to point towards Lovell's mansion, the youth cried out. "We march, as one, and as one we take back what is ours! Our lives, our hope, our freedom, and our escape from this demented mans madness! ONWARDS!!!!!"
--------------------------------------
Samael stood watching the crowd grow, the gathering darkness allowing the torches they carried to light them up like a sea of fire. Samael chuckled at the irony of the situation - a man that had set out to redeem the world and bring it to heaven, had instead devolved it into chaos and poured Hell upon it, and now, the river Styx had come to claim.
Lovell, however, was completely oblivious to this fact, or had far to much trust in his security forces - Samael believed it was the latter, since Lovell displayed a cunning paranoia. Lovell's glass tinkled as he set about filling it yet again - poor fool was utterly drunk, by no means an easy feat for himself to do - as he celebrated his victory and his consolidation of power.
"You should leave now."
Lovell looked over at Samael, a mock expression of curiosity and smugness on his face. "Oh, but why? This town will make a good spot to start, and it isn't entirely cleansed yet." Lovell leaned back and began to sing "I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts", and this irritated Samael highly.
So much so that Samael lifted Lovell from his seat by his neck collar and proceed to look deep into his eyes. "You, will, leave, NOW, Doctor Lovell. You still have much work to do, but you will not see it if you stay here - is this understood?! Over 1000 angry, tired humans are making their way to your blood mansion, and they will kill all they find and raze it to the ground."
"Is this UNDERSTOOD?"
Lovell, completely in shock now, simply nodded. Samael released him, and brushed the old man off, and handed him his bottle of brandy. "Go, now, take those you trust the most with you. I will stall - make your way to the Town Hall, which is already fortified with military equipment that I had the forethought to procure."
Lovell straightened his overcoat, and reached out to shake Sam's hand, who promptly shook it back. Smiling to Lovell, Samael, bowed deeply and evaporated into mist, his last words, "Death is but another phase."
--------------------------------------
Quinn stared into the eyes of Samael, both illuminated by the blazing fires of the mob surrounding them at the steps of Lovell's mansion. Samael smiled peacefully at Quinn, which only enraged the distraught youth more.
"This is what you fall to? Invading the minds of a thousand people and turning their own fears and hates towards your purpose?"
Quinn spat back. "No, their purpose! Your a heartless reaver, what would you know? I'll I've done is broken that which held them back, I gave them purpose and courage to do what was really seated in their hearts and minds. But, you'd rather label me a monster, an equal to the very man you protect."
Samael shrugged. "Do as you wish, I only ask you spare me your preaching and be done with what you have set out to do. Time is precious to you after all, mortal."
Quinn's fists balled up. "As you will..." A silent image, a trigger was sent to all those around, freeing them of restraint, and it was in that moment that they stormed the mansion, and killed all that stood before them. And of Samael, they ravaged him, tore him limb from limb, and he let them, knowing resistance was futile, and pointless in the grand scheme of things.
And after the town had finished their orgy of destruction, after Lovell had made his way safe and sound to the Fortressified Town Hall, did Nyxius himself appear, from within the flames. Walking calmly amongst them, a keen eye upon all, and tut tuting as he went.
"Dear me, little Quinny, you do not know how to throw a party, do you? Where is the song, and the dance?! Where is the life?" At this point, all eyes were upon this most mysterious man, and Quinn's especially. "You...who are you?", Quinn questioned.
Nyxius wagged his finger at Quinn. "Oh no, where would be the fun in me telling you that? No, lets play a game instead - you know what a Conga Line is, right? Oh, it won't matter. See, this game is the game of one upsmanship - you caused an entire town to go mad and kill a hundred or so others, now, we get to DANCE! (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpNk860pTO4)"
Cackling with glee as the music started up, the townspeople were suddenly compelled to follow the rhythm of the beat, and even while trying to fight it, Quinn himself found that his body, however rigidly was falling step, lock, and in line.
Danced and sang the entire town did, amongst the destroyed terrain, amongst the screams of the dying, a feverish, mad joy instilled in them all, their minds overcome and their eyes filling to the brime of it, as they cackled to, lashing out amongst each other and as if in a lunatic play. They began to take joy in perverse things as they entered the town, yet even through their eyes and minds, the horrors which they wrought were fine and seemingly to them, as if it were all natural.
And when the music had reached it's ending, before a now defaced and burning church were many frolicked naked about in a homicidal game of hide and seek, Nxyius clapped his hands, and the spell was broken, and all realization of their deeds came upon them, and chaos ensued to an even grater magnitude as Nyxius simply laughed as he vanished into a bubbling, writhing mass of demonic, black, sharply armored centipedes.
--------------------------------------
As the sun rose, and the burning city, once a roaring inferno now settled to a kindle, deep in his grave, Lucius Johann Emmerich stirred, and burst forth, his body parts snapped and bound together, his decay reversed and blood filled his veins and arteries. His birth was painful as skin etched itself across his body and breath came into half finished lungs, almost killing him yet again as he struggled for the aether of life.
Struggling to his feet, Lucius reached out to the sun, and cried in victory, and laughed joyfully to himself.
Khazaar, aka Samael aka Jacob Abrahamson, has been lynched, and Lucius Johann Emmerich has been reborn.

I am sorry to everyone involved, but I will have to write this game off. I understand a few of you put quite a lot of investment into this game, but I, as the host, no longer feel comfortable finishing this game as it stands, due to both my actions as of late, my sudden apathy towards completing this game, and the several rules that were broken that resulted in a a large metagame.
I will be taking my leave of the org, at least for now.
Good bye, so long, and thanks for all the fish.

Bye YLC. I had a lot of fun, but I'm not going to pretend I'm not upset. Good luck to you.
So who were the bad guys?
Shouldn't be much surprising here:
Yvonne Lucia Clark - Town/Psychic
"I know of the truth, and it must be spread. Come, take my hand my child, and know the terrible, magnificent future that will be, and feel fear no more..."
You are Yvonne Clark, a powerful psychic and lover of Quinn James Clark, your husband and stalwart protector. You once were dead, locked away and dominated by a house possessed by the most ancient of evils - by the very God of Chaos and Creation, the only God without name. That was until you made a bargian, and in winning the bargain, bought yourself a new lease upon life. However, in your transference form death to life, the veil that covers all humanities eyes was lifted from you - you truly see things as they are.
Because of this, you have taken it upon yourself to spread the true word, even when that word is punishable by the destruction of your very "soul". You are mother to every psychic you meet, and prophet to every human you open the eyes of. But recently, you have sought rest from your worldly task, and have come to this small town. However, it was not to be, as Doctor Lovell himself has arrived and quarantined the town in his attempt to find "Patient 0" - you. He is your only impediment to spreading the truth - the real truth - and this may be the opportune time to silence him.
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with immense psychic power, allowing you to bend the dead to your will and touch the minds of others. However, you are bound by your love to Quinn James Clark (Double A), and you do not know what you would do without him.
Once per night, you may send me a PM that would be sent to another player. You can either have the PM sent separately, or have it written into any night results PM they may receive.
Oper night you may select a Ghost from the Ghost Council - they may now speak freely in thread during the next day, but can only post when asked a question. You may at anytime remove their ability to speak freely.
At anytime, you may enter and discuss freely in the Ghost Council quicktopic (http://www.quicktopic.com/43/H/AbQTMT2HwaW), and may PM the dead freely. You may also select one Ghost and remove it's ability to vote. It would be advised that you disguise yourself...not all Ghosts and those present will be friendly...
You love Quinn dearly - he must not die, or you will go mad with grief and rage. May heaven have mercy upon all if it were to happen...
----------------------------------------
If you need any additional information, please PM. If you form a quicktopic, please PM a link so I can regulate it. Your partner is Double A, who is Quinn James Clark. Good luck, and have fun!
Maybe a little here:
You have died - but not truly so. Although simply a ghost in many respects, you have been since birth an avatar of Shub Niggurath, or more precisely, a fragment. You have grown and developed into a unique being now, and hold some of the dark mothers power within you.
You may speak freely in the thread, since you can manifest yourself at will. However, you are incapable of speaking of anything beyond idle chatter, whom you were or talking in riddles - your mind has a ascended to a state that no longer works on a human level.
You may bring another, or yourself back to life - at the cost of 3 other Ghosts, who's spiritual energy is used up and extinguished in the process. You can only use this ability twice.
You may, at anytime, become the Voice of the Dead, regardless of vote, and may select the ability to be used. However, doing so means all your other abilities become disabled, and having once assumed Voice of the Dead, you can be voted out.
Your alignment is still Town.
I wasn't responsible for Scottishranger returning to the land of the living, though.
I was PM-less at first, but received this once Renata died:
As you sit down late at night, to watch TV, intent on seeing the last episode of the season of your favorite program. However, your show is interrupted by a sudden burst of white noise, and as you bang irritatedly at your TV, something clicks in your mind.
Knowledge has been unlocked inside your head, and you become fully aware of your identity - you are Lynn Strange, agent of the fundamentalist movement headed by Doctor Lovell. You had been placed under hypnosis to fit into this town, to be later activated when needed.
You are now needed it seems.
You may, during the night select one person to silence - siad person will be unable to vote the following morning.
You may otherwise elect to perform a night kill, but, due to having only a revolver with 6 shots, may only attempt 6 night kills.
Your alignment is that of Sleeper Agent, and you win with the mafia, even though you are not mafia yourself.
YLC, thank you for the game - it was the first I've played, and it has certainly gotten me to look for more. If you don't mind answering, was my role change planned from the very beginning, or did I get it after the initial person it was planned for got WOGged? Either way, it was great fun to have to turn my thinking 180 degrees.

Oh fabulous. Sevis had just been determined to be a townie the previous night. Unless Atheotes was lying to me.
Actually, the issue with trusting Ath was not that he wasn't a townie, but that his ability was ambiguous. If a player did nothing during the night, regardless of alignment, he'd have no idea if they were townie or not.
The roles that I have, since others were accidentally deleted.

Title : That Creeping Darkness Role!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Renard Black - Mafia
"Oh, do I have a deal for you..."
You are Renard Black, a tall dashing black haired aid to Ian Alexander Lovell in his quest to hunt down the elusive "Psychic 0", the one that is the cause of the slow fusion between the earthly plane and an underlying psychic plane. Although your cause may be just, yourself, not so much. A dealer in cash and elicit trade, a man of taste and women, a professed gambler, you are a conman at heart and are gifted with the worlds most silver tongue - telepathically enhanced of course.
It was your very "gift" that caught the attention of Doctor Lovell and his fundamentalist followers, and it was your gift that saved you from being executed - via destruction of your "soul". Now, you work for him at a reasonable rate, peeking into the lives of others and conning little tidbits out of them, and passing that information onto Doctor Lovell. True a betrayal of your own kind, but one does what one must to survive, eh?
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with the exceptional ability to influence people to your advantage, and can even turn them to your bidding given enough time, but only willingly - you can't bend freewill to your desire.
Once per night, you may investigate another player, and learn that players name. A second investigation will reveal alignment and vulnerability to your second ability. If you use this ability, you may not use any of your other abilities for that night.
Once per night, you may select one individual and for that night they will appear guilty. A second use causes them to appear guilty when lynched, and will appear guilty the first time investigated, but a second investigation will reveal their true alignment. If you use this ability, you may not use any of your other abilities for that night.
At anytime, you may offer a person the chance to switch to your alignment if they are vulnerable. They may choose whether or not to join at that time, and will become a "Soldier", and may perform a kill attempt once a night with your aid or the aid of another "Soldier". If you decide to aid a Soldier in a kill attempt, you may not perform any other action for that night.

Town Preacher - Town
"We have forgotten the message of God, and in doing so, have forsaken ourselves just as much as those we would persecute..."
You are theTown Preacher, Mr. Athington, a young and open-minded catholic who is a rarity in this time of rampant fundamentalism. With the coming of Doctor Lovell to your small town, proclaiming that "Psychic 0" was within the town, you are now isolated from the world has his fanatical followers have placed the whole town under quarantine - no one gets in, no one gets out.
Hopefully, he will soon come to his senses, and realize their is nothing of worth, that "Psychic 0" has never graced your town, and he can move on, allowing you to breath easier. Possibly it is today - he has called a town meeting after all after so long, and one must always think positively.
----------------------------------------
You are well knowledged in your faith, enough so to realize that absolutism prevents proper worship. You can naturally sense fanaticism, no matter how deeply covered. Due to current world circumstances, you've also been authorized to perform exorcisms when needed.
Once per night, you may bless another player, and for that night they are immune to any alignment change. A second blessing means that their alignment will change back to town, if at any time it was town. If you use this ability, you may not use any of your other abilities for that night.
Once per night, you may select one individual to perform an exorcism on, be they dead or living. If living, and of any alignment other then town, they will be unable to use their ability for that night. If they are dead, they are permanently removed from the game.
At anytime, you may offer a person the chance to become your "Apprentice" - if they choose to do so, then from that night on you must now cooperate with them each night, when performing a night action, for 3 nights or suffer a 50% failure rate when attempting a night action. Upon the completion of the third nights action, regardless of success or failure, your "Apprentice" gains all your abilities except this one, and your success rate goes back up to 100% when attempting night actions.

Quinn James Clark - Town/Psychic
"If I am to be forsaken, then it will be by choice, and on my terms!"
You are Quinn Clark, a powerful psychic and lover of Yvonne Lucia Clark, your wife and only company in your constant struggle to live. You are a kind hearted but stalwart man of 22 years, with rusty brown hair and sea hazel eyes, and you have taken it upon yourself to protect and save your own kind from the ultimate fate - oblivion by destruction of their "soul".
Because of this, you have become a skilled fighter, utilizing blades and the stolen armor of your foes to combat the fanatics who would kill your kind for being the demons that they never were. Deep inside, you are done with reasoning, and as you see it - it has become "us" or "them", and your indomitable spirit refuses to let it be "them". You have come to this town however, for reprieve - but as fate has it, the plague of your kind, Doctor Lovell himself, has appeared. To him, this must be his moment of victory. To you, this is your one chance to end this madness.
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with the exceptional athleticism and combat ability, and are aided by the fact you are both prescient and a medium. However, you are bound by your love to Yvonne Lucia Clark (Renata), and you do not know what you would do without her.
Once per night, you may protect another player, and prevent their possible death by taking their place when they are attacked. While protecting them, you have a 25% chance of killing the attacker.
Your ability to see actions taken before they happen, combined with your skill in battle, makes you incredibly tough to kill. As such, you can only be killed at night if you are attacked twice. If you are attacked while protecting someone it will count towards the number of attacks to kill you.
At anytime, you may enter and discuss freely in the Ghost Council quicktopic (http://www.quicktopic.com/43/H/AbQTMT2HwaW), and may PM the dead freely. It would be advised that you disguise yourself...not all Ghosts and those present will be friendly...

Title : That Creeping Darkness Role!
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yvonne Lucia Clark - Town/Psychic
Your partner is Double A, who is Yvonne Lucia Clark. Good luck, and have fun!

Samael - Mafia
"*heavy breathing*..."
You are Samael, a dark man cloaked in a trench coat, your face covered by a gas mask and a fedora, you eyes swallowed by the dark depths of it's lenses. Power emanates from you, and your very presence seems to inspire fear and awe. You are death incarnate, trapped in a mortal body and in service to Doctor Lovell, and non can stop you, for death must come to all, regardless of their nature.
"Psychic 0" - that is all that Lovell will speak of, and it is why you are here, in this time forgotten little town. You will find this "Psychic 0", and you will kill them, regardless of the number that must die for this to happen. The lives of the townspeople are expendable, considering it is for the greater good. They should be glad it would come so swiftly and by your hand - for their are far worse fates then mere death.
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with the powers of death, and all that entails. You cannot be stopped, no more then could gravity, time, or space.
Once per night, you may kill any one player. This ability will have priority and effectively negate any action that had taken that night.
You are immune to almost all night actions and cannot be killed under any circumstance during the night.
At anytime, you may enter and discuss freely in the Ghost Council quicktopic (http://www.quicktopic.com/43/H/AbQTMT2HwaW), and may PM the dead freely. It would be advised that you disguise yourself...not all Ghosts and those present will be friendly...

Cynthia Daphne Faye - Neutral/Psychic
"Oh how bittersweet love is - how it burns when it comes to you, hurts when it leaves, how quickly fading it is, how unshared it can be. Love is indeed more powerful then any hate, for hate cannot so thoroughly destroy ones soul..."
You are Cynthia Faye, a beautiful strawberry blond with unparalleled beauty - but your eyes tell a different story. Darkness swirls in them as you suffer from possession by a thousands spirits, all compressed by your own vast willpower into raw psychic energy. Knowledge of the heart, that what one learns over the course of a lifetime, was imbued in your mind when you were far to young to truly grasp it, and as a result while you yourself are fairly cold and distant, outwardly you are warm and loving.
You have from the beginning been able to direct and control this possession to your own ends, manipulating the heartstrings of those around you to your will, but never partaking in any of it yourself - for to fall to your passions is to fall under the sway of a thousand different voices, all demanding a second chance at life. But now, you may soon lose out at your life to begin with. The fanatical Doctor Lovell has come to your town, and brought his "witch" hunting dogma with him, and even now you feel several other presences stirring within the town. Whom wins in the coming struggle is of no concern to you, your only goal is to live another day, as Cynthia Faye...
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with the exceptional ability to influence people to your advantage, manipulating their basic desires - to you, sending a human into a frenzy of lust or passionate crusade is child's play.
Once per night, you may select one player and bind them to another persons fate through love - what would have happened to the one player, happens to the other as well. If you use this ability, you may not use any of your other abilities for that night.
Once per night, so powerful is your command over passion and life that you may bring another back from the dead, whom will serve you to the fullest of their capacities. You may only do this twice however so draining is it upon you. Those brought back from the dead lose their alignment and gain yours. If you use this ability, you may not use any of your other abilities for that night. If you are roleblocked during the night you use this ability, it will still count towards your total number of uses.
During the night, if someone uses a night ability upon you, so immediately filled with overwhelming emotion are they that their ability is negated for that night, so long as it is not a kill attempt or a roleblock.

Town Inspector - Town
"People are not numbers, no matter how hard you try to reduce them to such..."
You are the Town Inspector, a swarthy man going by the name Al Chapman. You've recently moved to this town and set up shop, and have already gotten to know some townspeople by heart and are a regularly at the coffee shop. The townspeople are thrilled to have you because of the personal way you handle your cases, and even the mayor has nudged you and hinted that he wants you to run for sheriff.
However, your run of good fortune has been interrupted by the arrival of Doctor Lovell and his fanatical followers. Putting you under house arrest because your protests revealed you to harbor a strong disdain for Lovell's draconian tactics, you have decided to ignore the order regardless and make your own investigation into "Psychic 0" - even at your own peril.
----------------------------------------
You are a capable investigator and are well versed in self defense. This will hopefully come in handy in your own personal quest to find "Psychic 0" before Lovell harms anymore of the townspeople.
Once per night, you may investigate another player, and learn that players alignment. Each subsequent investigation will reveal one ability that they posses. If you use this ability, you may not use any of your other abilities for that night.
During the night, you have a 50% chance of shrugging off night attacks when not investigating, and a 33% chance when investigating.

Lucius Johann Emmerich - Town/Psychic
"Faith is for those who are to afraid, to lazy or unwilling, to pursue that which is true, and is the tool of the power hungry to bend the needing masses, who hunger for safety and redemption for imagined sins, to their own corrupted will."
You are Lucius Emmerich, a small quiet young psychic who travels from place to place in search of...something. You are in constant need of something unattainable, some power or knowledge which evades you at every turn. Deep within your hooded pullover, beneath the tattered jeans and the headset which drones out the constant propaganda, you are driven by a hunger that faith can never fill.
In your sojourn, you have chanced across this small town, and have taken to spending hours in the oddly vast town library. But with the Coming of Doctor Lovell, your studies have been interrupted by this man's power hungry madness. His very presence chokes you, as if he were smoke upon the air, and you can see how he invades the minds of the poor townsfolk. For the first time, you feel a stirring - you will put an end to this, by yourself if you have to. Now is the time to run the tide against unreason and fanaticism...
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with the psychic ability to absorb knowledge and power from other sources, allowing a pure, untainted retention of your studies, and a much more level headed view of the world. This ability has also come in handy when needing a skill that you do not posses on your own and has gotten you out of several jams in your travels.
Once per night, you may pilfer the ability of another player. You may use their ability during the following night and every successive night so long as you PM during the day that you wish to maintain drawing the ability from them. Beware though, some power should not be sought after, for the consequences could be disastrous...
During the day, you may remove another persons vote to increase your voting power to two. If you do this, it will be reflected in the write up but not in the statistics, and using this ability means that you lose focus upon any person whom you draw an ability from during the night, and must pilfer the ability to begin using it again the next night.
You set yourself apart from others so as to minimize chances that you could be caught for being a psychic. As such, you are immune to the first instance of an ability used upon you, but another use of the ability will have it's normal success rate, for although you can evade them for a time, you cannot do so forever...

Ramiel - Elder God/Cult Leader
...And these are the names of their leaders: Sêmîazâz, their leader, Arâkîba, Râmêêl, Kôkabîêl, Tâmîêl, Râmîêl, Dânêl, Êzêqêêl, Barâqîjâl, Asâêl, Armârôs, Batârêl, Anânêl, Zaqîêl, Samsâpêêl, Satarêl, Tûrêl, Jômjâêl, Sariêl. 8. These are their chiefs of tens." - R. H. Charles translation, The Book of the Watchers, Chapter VI.
You are Ramiel, an Elder God and follower of Yad-Thaddag. You preside over the dead, and bring the unruly mass to heel and form. You appear to human eyes as an "angel", but your true form is hidden away. Your human avatar is a dashing ladies man and his current occupation is as a traveling salesman, to better hide your dark activities...
You have come to this small town on a gamble by none other then Penemue, an avatar of Yog-Sothoth himself. You, along with Adastriea, a servant of the Old One Mordiggian, have tasked yourselves with shifting the balance of power away from Azathoth - for his time to return has come, and unless something is done, the Blind Idiot God shall awaken, and a blink of an eye all shall be gone...
----------------------------------------
You are capable of near impossible feats in your true form, but, to prevent the agents of Azathoth from interrupting your plans, you have given form to a human who is you and not you, and by being mortal, your abilities are limited...
Once per night, you may attempt to convert one player to your alignment. This ability will work on a player so long as they are not a "psychic". Upon conversion, they become "Elder God Cultists", and their alignment will change to yours. You will not be immediately revealed to them, and may send any communications you wish through me to them. Beware though, both Penemue and Adastriea will be competing for souls, since none of you could agree on the method in which to stop the followers of Azathoth.
Unlike the others, you see the dead as a possible way to turn the tide. So strong is the belief and fanaticism that you imbue your converts with that even unto death they keep your alignment, and become "Tainted" Ghosts. In addition, you may revive valued converts by night killing two living converts - the Tainted Ghost will be revived the following morning.
At anytime, you may enter and discuss freely in the Ghost Council quicktopic (http://www.quicktopic.com/43/H/AbQTMT2HwaW). It would be advised that you disguise yourself...not all Ghosts and those present will be friendly...

Ian Alexander Lovell - Mafia Godfather
"I have oft spent my time gazing into the known as a scientist, and reflecting upon the unknown as a believer. I am firm in my belief that I am doing what is best for humanity, for a man of science in this time would be passionless and never stir the crowd, and a man of pure faith would only galvanize the world to directionless action..."
You are Doctor Lovell, old, crippled and forced to use a cane to stand, but strong of mind and spirit. You are both scientist and holy man, both calculated reason and burning passion. It is you who has seized the reigns of the future of humanity, and will steer it to both enlightenment and salvation in these dark times as the earthly world is merging with a primordial, chaos imbued plane that lies just underneath...
You can save humanity though, from being swallowed up by the denizens of this world, if you could but find "Psychic 0", the psychic that is the cause of the terrible grip the people of earth are caught in. The death of the psychic shall begin to seal the whole in the fabric of reality, and you, and you alone will be the savior of humanity, and you and you alone will lead it into a new golden age. It does not matter what measures must be taken to save humanity, just that is done, regardless of the lives lost.
In this small town, you have finally tracked Psychic 0 down, and the salvation of humanity is within your grasp. However, the psychic has eluded your grasp, and now you are forced to take extreme measures. The town must be purged, even if it means the death of every last person in it! Only then can you be sure, and only then can the people of earth be saved!
----------------------------------------
You are gifted with an exceptional mind, a vast army of followers, and wealth and power beyond measure - all for the undertaking of saving humanity from the psychics who warp reality by their very existence.
Once per day and only twice per game, you may lynch the person with the second most votes instead, or you may give pardon to a player and prevent their lynch. You cannot use this ability to save any player with the same alignment as yourself.
Due to your wealth and power, once per night you may switch the targeting for 2 players, such that what would have happened to player A happens to player B instead, and vice versa.
You may at anytime ask to have a sleeper agent activated - whom this sleeper agent is, is unknown to you, but they may be of great use (i.e., it is a random town alignment player). Timing is critical in the activation of the sleeper agent, and he could be the coup de grace in your grand scheme...
As stated in the rules of the game, you can only be lynched or killed until you are the only one of your alignment left.

Adastriea - Old One/Cult Leader
. . . [A] colossal shadow [appeared] that was not wrought by anything in the room. It filled the portals from side to side, it towered above the lintel – and then, swiftly, it became more than a shadow: it was a bulk of darkness, black and opaque, that somehow blinded the eyes with a strange dazzlement. It seemed to suck the flame from the red urns and fill the chamber with a chill of utter death and voidness. Its form was that of a worm-shapen column, huge as a dragon, its further coils still issuing from the gloom of the corridor; but it changed from moment to moment, swirling and spinning as if alive with the vortical energies of dark aeons. Briefly it took the semblance of some demoniac giant with eyeless head and limbless body; and then, leaping and spreading like smoky fire, it swept into the chamber.
—Clark Ashton Smith, "The Charnel God"
You are Adastriea, a vessel of the Old God Mordiggian. You exact order upon the world of the living, consuming those entirely that would offend the order you seek to establish - however, unlike your brethren and the Outer Gods, you do not wish for humanity to perish and are not especially cruel. You appear to human eyes as a young woman, but your true form is hidden away. Your human avatar is a lady of great intelligence and vigor and her current occupation is as a physician, to better hide your dark activities...
You have come to this small town on a gamble by none other then Penemue, an avatar of Yog-Sothoth himself. Unlike the others, you see the dead and living as nothing more then as a source of power. Because of this, if a follower of your dies, they do not become a ghost and instead are removed from the game. In turn, you are further able to empower your living followers - for each death, your followers each gain a random one time use ability. However, due to the fact the humans are not meant to contain such power, any single follower can only gain and use an ability twice before becoming a useless husk and no longer be capable of gaining a new ability.

"To be a man of medicine is to struggle against Death himself, and we cannot prevent Death anymore then we can stop time. When you become a doctor, you too will realize the inevitability of death, but it is a true healer who does not despair when confronted with this universal fact."
You are the Town Doctor, Jimmy MacGohltieh, an old Irish doctor who drinks just as much as he cures, and is filled with a optimism tempered by sober wisdom. You have lived in this town your entire life, and you are well known and respected amongst the community. You promote sound reason and common sense where you can, and in a small way, it has been you who has prevented this town from falling into the insane fanaticism that is spreading across the globe.
Sadly, that has all come to a shattering end. Doctor Lovell himself, the mastermind behind the fundamentalists who follow him blindly and hold the world hostage, has come to your town, to find his "Psychic 0". Deep down, you realize you couldn't have sheltered the town forever...but now is not the time for such lonesome thoughts. Now is the time, where if you cannot guide their mind, you must protect their body, as any good doctor would do...

Penemue - Outer God/Cult Leader
Yog-Sothoth knows the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the gate. Yog-Sothoth is the key and guardian of the gate. Past, present, future, all are one in Yog-Sothoth. He knows where the Old Ones broke through of old, and where They shall break through again. He knows where They have trod earth's fields, and where They still tread them, and why no one can behold Them as They tread.
—H. P. Lovecraft, "The Dunwich Horror"
You are Penemue, a physical embodiment of the Outer God Yog-Sothoth. You are space and time, intertwined with both but forever unable to enter the primal, the earthly realm, in your true form, and thus your human shell, which to mortals appears as a wise oldman with a stovepipe, bowler hat, and a fine suit. Your human shells current occupation is as a college professor, to better hide your dark activities...
You have come to this small town on a gamble created by you, inviting Ramiel a servant of Yad-Thaddag along, who happened to also bring Adastriea, a servant of the Old One Mordiggian. Azathoth is awakening, and you even you the all seeing one had not forseen it to happen so early...someone must be manipulating events to this end. Nonetheless, Azathoth must not be awakened, or all that is will not be and all that was shall never have been and all that might be never will be so...

You are capable of near impossible feats in your true form, but, to prevent the agents of Azathoth from interrupting your plans, you have given form to a human who is you and not you, and by being mortal, your abilities are limited...

Title : TCD Role Update...
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In life, you were hated, feared, scorned by all and forced to live upon your own merits and abilities.
In death, you will give reason for their fear...
You are now Nyxius, servant of Nyarlathotep (Cthonic Mafia). To humanity, you appear as you did in life, but with a white fedora and suit upon yourself. Your true form is hidden to all but other psychics and your master, Nyarlathotep and his master, Azathoth - it is that of a mass of sharply armored centipedes, dark as the void itself, twisting and morphing, the whole of your body a great collective unconscious, all bending to your will.
Your mission has changed - you will now remove the ignorant pestilence that is humanity, and replace them with your brethren, the psychics. To this end, you will warp and twist those poor unfortunate human souls who enter your grasp into your servants, overriding any previous allegiance they had, no matter who they were, and insuring that it would never be changed.
You have been gifted with power unimaginable, and your eyes have been opened without a loss of sanity. You feel more alive then you ever did before, even in death, and you are now quite the showman. It is time that you brought this little play to it's close though...
---------------------
During the night, you may select anyone "Ghost" and twist them into a "Cthonic Monster", who will do your bidding. They retain their vote in the Ghost Council, but may at night rise from the dead or materialize from mist, and will complete the task you will set forth for them - remove those in your way. Each "Cthonic Monster" has a 25% chance to kill or, if you so desire, force the victim into unending madness, forcing them to spew forth the dark bible of Azathoth and allowing you to control their vote during the day.
A Cthonic Monsters chance to induce madness or kill stacks with each other one attempting, so that 2 have a 50% chance, 3 have a 75% chance, and 4 have a 100% chance.
You may speak as much or as little as you wish in the Ghost Council (http://http://www.quicktopic.com/43/H/AbQTMT2HwaW)quicktopic. It may be best to appear as if you were a normal ghost as much as possible - you will be sent a cover role soon after this one.
At anytime during the game, you may ask that a PM be sent anonymously to any other player, and will be able to say whatever you wish. You may at anytime send me a PM stating that you wish to appear and in what form or in what way in either the day or night write up, or anothers results PM.
You can, at any time, be resurrected, so long as one person say your name 3 times in 3 separate posts. This can only be done 3 times during the game - upon your third death, you will stay dead. once revived, you will be able to cast a vote like any normal person.
Your win conditions now require you to kill all non-psychic power roles in the game - the other humans are of no consequence, although they may be killed or manipulated as you wish. The psychics may live if you want, but may be more useful to you dead and converted, if you find yourself in a tight position.
If you have any questions, please PM me - good luck and have fun, and may Azathoth be with you.
There were several other permutations of peoples roles, specifically that of Double A, Splitpersonality, and scottisranger.
Double A or Renata, depending on which one survived, during the game, would have been presented continuously with moral choices to make - to advance the townie cause, they would have to grow closer and closer to a serial killer alignment. Had either one gone down the slippery slope, at the end their killing power would expand and they would have received the ending of the "Ace of Blades", where the coming of Azathoth has been prevented, but only through genocide, and they are the ruler of a dead world.
Splitpersonality's role would change as well, if recruited by the mafia, gaining the ability to force a living player to continually do as they are told, without changing their alignment, in place of the ability to bind people together. Every night of being dominated by split also gave the townie the option to "submit", and thus gain a mafia alignment.
If split was turned into a Cthonic Monster, he would have been able have a separate, 100% chance to induce madness but no ability to kill.
Scottishranger had the largest role permutation possibility. If recruited by the mafia, Scottish would have retained his abilities, but with the caveat that if he used his ability on someone, they would die the next night due to being drained so thoroughly.
If scottish used his ability on cultists, he would have eventually gained the corresponding cult alignment, with full warning of what he was doing and what would happen. If he did become a cultist, then he would have the option of removing a persons role and making them a cultist. Obviously, once cured of their cult status, the persons role would have been returned to them.
If he had used his ability on a cult leader, however, he would have gained the ability to form his own mason group, recruiting people to his alignment as minor psychics to resist the cults influence.
When scottish died, he would become Nyxius, a fast talking demonic showman who's actual goal, regardless of what he appeared to be, was to save humanity by converting them into psychics - without becoming a race of psychic beings, humanity would have been extinguished with he coming of Azathoth. It was he and only he that understood that Azathoth was al things, and that Azathoth was simply the universe awaking to the truth of it's own existence, not a Dark God awaking that would divide by zero.
Also, if scottishranger had been able to kill off all the psychics, he would have been able to recruit 4 more Cthonic Monsters.

My commentary for the game:
After a few rounds of being a basic, normal townie, I didn't see much direction to the discussion, and there was a lot of inactivity as well, it seemed. I knew this was a game with multiple pro-town roles and various anti-town forces.
What we needed was a detective result on one of the main bad guys. But after that, the detective was sure to die. So, while speaking to YLC one day I decided I would "reveal" myself as a pro-town role, as a ruse, in order to serve several purposes:
1. We needed leadership, and a more energetic discussion. Right or wrong, my claim and accusation would give us something to talk about.
2. The pro-town roles needed breathing room, and if the mafia focused on destroying me, then they would also be unfocused on the real pro-town roles.
3. Claiming as such led several pro-town people to contact me (not the wisest or safest move in a game with cults, however...)
4. If we were going to lynch a baddie early, it would likely require a large bandwagon. Nothing makes bandwagons better than a claimed detective result.
5. I had originally planned on going with either White_eyes:D or Yaseikhaan as my "victim" of my accusation. White_Eyes because he wasn't at ALL his usual self; he is usually far more talkative and assertive. His posts smelled to me of hiding something. Yaseikhaan was my back-up plan; I was going to try to do a Two-For-One claim: If White_Eyes:D turned out innocent, I would have accused Yaseikhaan of being the "detective" that gave me the false results, and claim I was acting as his proxy. A double edged sword, to be sure, especially if either were pro-town roles. However, after looking at people's posts, I noticed that Cultured Drizzt Fan was displaying all the signs of something being wrong. My big accusation on CDF was based on that.
I decided to go with Cultured Drizzt Fan as my main accusation, and then blame Khaan if I were wrong. After CDF was lynched, and I was right, I decided against Khaan because of the way he was acting. I suspected he was either an insane townie role or something else, but probably not Andres' henchmen. So I was all set to accuse White_Eyes the next day, after calling for a doctor to protect me at night.
The protection never came, and I was recruited into White_Eyes Cult the very night I died.
White_Eyes was the source of the accusation on Sasaki, and I delivered the message as the spokesperson for the ghost council, accusing him of being Gasmask because W_E thought he was. I did a fair bit of lying in order to even accuse Sasaki there, because people weren't asking the right questions.
I had already hooked up atheotes and TheFlax as being a priest/apprentice team since TheFlax was actually starting to be WOG bait. I asked him if he was still playing and he said he thought he had dropped out. That's either an entertaining lie or the truth, so I decided to bite and I recommended TheFlax to atheotes. I think that was a good combo.
I knew Split was a neutral psychic for a while because he claimed. All of this info was shared with Psychic Zero as soon as I died, hopefully becoming useful for the pro-town cause.
=================================
I still don't know if I did well, or I screwed up. CDF was a huge gamble, and I nearly got White_eyes killed, which would have been a bad thing I understand. So, if anyone doesn't know what to do with a basic townie role; the answer is, be creative. It was fun at least. I accomplished my goal of having Andres' team waste a kill on me instead of a pro-town role, and got a townie network hooked up as well.
I actually have to credit Reenk Roink for this tactic, because he did this in Treehouse of Horror and correctly accused Boudica I think it was. And I wasn't there but I believe Sasaki Kojiro used a similar tactic in a very old game.
In the end, I was just a very naughty pizzaguy.
Edit: Also White_eyes didn't really want to side with the town. It was his decision in the end, but I practically begged him to side with the town; I felt Andres would simply use and then eliminate him.

I managed to be on three different teams over the course of this game - Town, Old God Cultists, Cthonic Monsters - and still hadn't the slightest idea what was going on. :embarassed:
Great write-ups, though. The Gasmask and Nyx characters were especially awesome. A pity it had to end prematurely.
There were supposed to be originally -
4 Mafioso - Ian Alexander Lovell, Renard Black, Samael, and Morpheus. Morpheus was originally supposed to be able to review a targets PM chatter every 24 hours, but do to the lack of 60 players was cut.
4 Psychics - Quinn James Clark, Yvonne Lucia Clark, Lucius Johann Emmerich, Alice Bancroft. Alice Bancroft was cut because I could not include her father, Marcus Bancroft, who would have been the town "Mayor/Governor/Senator", how ever you wish to say it. Alice Bancroft would have been a first for me - a role that randomly reassigns abilities, leaving it up to the victims to decide whether or not :daisy: just happened.
5 Town Roles - Town Preacher, Town Investigator, Town Doctor, Marcus Bancroft, Town Librarian. Marcus was originally going to have several abilities that other roles absorbed in total or part, and the Town Librarian was cut due to lack of players - their ability was to ask me any questions regarding the storyline, history of the town, or of mentioned roles such as Ian Alexander Lovell, so that at least someone would make efficient use of the night write ups.
3 Cults - Yag-Thaddag, Yog-Sothoth, Mordiggian. Against each other and the town, the Cults had the hardest job, since the psychics were immune to their influence. However, as they gained more and more cults, they could begin promoting cult followers into fanatics, which were immune to psychic abilties and had the ability to night kill on their own. If a cult leader died, at least one of his cult followers would have turned into a fanatic.
3 Serial Killers - Sigrid Clark, Yeqon, Nyxius. This was the most disappointing part to cut. I simply could not have these extra killers with the sheer amount of eventual kills their would have been - with them included, 10 kills a night would have been the expected maximum. Sigrid Clark would have been able to target living or dead players, while Yeqon's only objective in the entire game would be to kill Quinn Clark and Yvonne Clark, as well as anyone he revealed to or knew his identity.
Renata, as I said, I was a townie until you died and Andres activated me. All of my messages were completely honest - I doubt I'd have been able to fool you into believing my innocence otherwise.
I understand if this game was confusing to some, and others may have found it imbalanced. I am sorry if you see it that way.
I also included, many, many clues throughout the write ups, however they were storyline/role sensitive. For instance, Beskar brought up the fact that Nyxius had danced with the undead during Sasaki's lynch write up - this was to indicate that Nyxius was a dead player.
All you had to do was equate Nyxius with Michael Jackson (Once living, then dead, then leading "ghouls" in dance [recruiting capability]), and it would have started to become obvious what was going on - all your actions are seeded, and the states of your roles, as well as who was each role, are seeded in the write ups. I even went so far as to tell you that scottishranger's alignment had shifted on day two, hoping you guys would finally catch on :laugh4:
As a bonus, actually find the clues in my write ups

Now, I was recruited into W_E's cult right when I died, and I was under the impression he was pretty much neutral, but from your description it seemed as though he was anti-town. Did he know he was anti-town? He sort of revealed and let everyone know what he was after a while.
If he were absolutely anti-town after all, then I might feel a bit better about my performance.

He was indeed Anti-Town - it should be stated in his role that to win everyone playing had to share his alignment. This meant that he had to kill anyone he could not convert.
To an extent, EVERYONE was protown. I gave the town so many enemies, and made those enemies enemies of each other, that who was on the town's side actual depended upon how the game was progressing. It was successful - the town at one point even considered siding with the mafia, much to my cries of joy. I made a few mistakes really, biggest one was that I accidentally used my user name Yog-sothoth in beskars small mafia games quicktopic for my team..... :sweatdrop:
That was a huge mistake, and Whiteyes was on the same team! :wall: he knew I was Yog, and so did Beskar.
I tried to rectify that by converting Beskar, but he was being protected by drugs! Then that Day phase Atpg leveled his accusation at me, and I thought the jig was up.
:juggle2: I might have been able to save my bacon if I had played the victim and said I was Pro town, but I jumped the gun thinking Atpg was privy to the above info.
(luckily Whiteyes did the same thing, :beam: using his Beskar username in the ghost council. I was able to slip that intel to Andres before I died.)

Although, White_Eyes was a big help in smashing Andres' henchmen. You want to know my role?
You really want to know my role?
This is my role PM.
Yes, I was a roleless townie.
However, Doctor Lovell tried to make me his assistant and injected me with something on night 1, then 'protected' his investment, however, for whatever reason to YLC, it never worked at all.
Thus, when it said I was a confirmed innocent publicly, I really was a confirmed innocent. :laugh4:
However, I did get this the other night, thanks to Splitpersonality. (who linked me and Khazaar)
Role update:
During the night, a dark presence invades your mind and takes total control. In a flash, it feels as if you have been torn into a thousand different pieces, and you have died a thousand deaths in a thousand different ways.
Although you remain Tiberius Beskar to others, deep inside you are now a fanatical devotee of the Old God Mordiggian!
Your alignment is now - Old God Cultist
You will immediately be informed if another with your alignment is brought into being, however, your creators identity has remained veiled to you - it will be up to him whether or not to reveal to you.
With two other Old God Cultists, you may perform a night kill.
Your partners are Winston Hughes, Beefy187 and ATPG.

Yea, and you NEVER recruited. That was what I kept waiting for - the mafia to actually start moving forward and gain some followers. You could have even nabbed the towns very power roles, or scottish and split :wall:
As to Beskar's "injection" - that was a complete and ridiculously funny lie by Andres. Yes, you could have been converted, but only by Sasaki.
Even totally screwing up, the mafia managed to achieve a major victory. Since WE was going to die during the night, and Beskar was going to revert back to a townie, that meant only Sevis, Andres, Centurion1 (who was CDF's remaining follower and a Fanatic) had to be lynched, and town would have won - so in my book, town obtained a victory as well.
However, with scottish alive and Double sending me hints he wanted to go rogue, the town may have been in for some serious trouble.
Oh my goodness!!
I was just reading the Quicktopics.
From my N results I understant that Beskar was protected by a doctor. Anyone has an idea about a possible doctor role or who he could be.
Who is this mysterious doctor!!

That would be Jolt, who was irritatingly inactive. He had a standard protection ability, and another protection ability that prevented other abilities except for kills.

Yes and no - Nyx wouldn't count against the towns victory if he was dead, which meant his ability to achieve victory was timed - things were not looking up for him either. TF, Atheotes, Jolt, and A1_Unit were alive, which pushed his victory (kill all non-psychic power roles) even further away.

YLC, what would have happened if I had sent in both my kill orders in on Khazzar?
Here are all my orders:
I'm going to investigate Beskar tonight.
When you go to see Beskar and investigate him for that night, you are stopped by the town doctor, who has quarantined Tiberius B. Gaius and refuses to let anyone else near him.
Several others were there, yet not one of you managed to convince the doctor to backdown. Sadly, you eventually caved in and returned home.
On Night 2 I investigated ATPG but I can't find that PM - it's gone. The results from that said he was suspicious.
Tonight I will investigate pevergreen.
You decide to follow kelly green during the night, intent on learning any of her secrets. You follow her, and watch her go to the diner. For hours you wait, until you see Gasmask enter and sit down with her. Your first reaction is to think she is mafia, but as you watch, Gasmask leaves kelly behind with a music box, and before you can even get to the door, she slumps forward, dead from suffocation.
You quickly check her ID - she is obviously from the town, just as others have said.
pevergreen is town.
Tonight I will investigate Beefy.
During the night, you decide to take the nightshift for some overtime - or at least that's what everyone else thinks. Unbeknownst to them, you take the time to go through some personal file of a person you suspect, Nick Koeman.
Rifling through some recent case files, you find evidence to support the notion that Nick Koeman isn't a loyal townie, and that he has some cult ties...
Got you Beefy.:idea2:
I'm going to investigate Sasaki.
You follow the man named Renard during the night as he follows a beautiful black haired lass, of whom he seems enamored with. However, it immediately becomes clear who Renard is once you strays under a well lite area - it is Mr. Black, an associate of Doctor Lovell!
Now my objective was to get Sasaki lynched but lucky for me I didn't have to do much because everyone went after him for some reason.
I'll investigate Captain Blackadder tonight.
You investigate Captain Blackadder, an old veteran from a now forgotten war, and learn that all though he is a little stir crazy, he's quite innocent of any wrong doing.
Finally! A town role!
@YLC: I didn't use the Apprentice system for two reasons:
1. I couldn't find a townie.
2. I was a little confused about how to make someone my apprentice.
Double A

YLC, I want a rematch (whenever you feel like doing one of course).
Even though my mind has been blown out of my head multiple times, this is one of my favorite games of mafia I've ever played.
The game was great but very confusing, I was Doubt in the Ghostcouncil. The only thing I was sure of was the fact that not everything was black and white. I didn´t even trust Andres because my role said that I was foced to Lovells biddinga and YLC even hinted that I could change alliances under sertain circumstances.
I was convinced that Nyx was the messenger of Chaos and total destruction, thats why I hoped to find info on him in the GC. At one point I even thought that Nxy was Lovells alternate personality that would awaken with the comming of Azatoht. Somebody said that the lynching of the Cults + Psychic 0 would bring Azatoth into the world. We knew about White Eyes, but I was reluctant of killing him or Psychic 0 before Nyx was dead...
Too much paranoia and a lot people who looked innocent... Epic Game
My question YLC: Was there a way for me to change sides somehow? I thought that if I would get lynched I might turn into something else as a ghost or something...

Am I allowed to punch Khazzar for screwing with me and then going through my protection?
By the time I came into the game as a replacement for DiY, I had already been converted by CDF, died, become Voice of the Dead, and then been converted again to a Cthonic Monster by scottishranger.
It was fun while it lasted, pity it didn't.
I must apologize for putting no effort into this game
Anyway, I was default townie.
I sold you up ship-creek to Andres which would have got me returned as a townie. :beam:
If not that, hopefully gave me your powers or something, then I rule the town with an iron fist.
Yes, Beskar would have had a one off ability, and been a towny.
YLC, what would have happened if I had sent in both my kill orders in on Khazzar?
He would have lived. He simply could not be night killed. As has been shown, Khazaar was actually a black mist that inhabited a trenchcoat, gasmask, and fedora. It's a bit to explain, but suffice it to say Lovell bound one of the Outer Gods into a young psychic, which then promptly turned the young psychic into a black mist, since that is how the God would appear in our reality. The god simply assumed the form of the psychic because it had to fit inside the psyche of the psychic, and thus could only conceive of it's original form.
YLC, I want a rematch (whenever you feel like doing one of course).
Even though my mind has been blown out of my head multiple times, this is one of my favorite games of mafia I've ever played.
Yes, BUT, what did you like, dislike about it? Do I have to create en entirely new thread to get peoples on honest opinions on how to make my games better :sweatdrop:
Yes, there was. You could have gone town, but it was a complex process - you'd have to die, split revive you, and then a recruit capable scottish to turn you townie.
The reason for this convoluted method is because there would be a townie vigilante who knew the identities of the other mafioso and was immune to night kills...so, yeah...
Am I allowed to punch Khazzar for screwing with me and then going through my protection?
Actually, the night Renata died, you two were supposed to meet and there was supposed to be an epic fight, to prove your badassery while showing that you were both next to impossible kill. However, like all good parts of a story, it was cut due to time issues.
That would be Jolt, who was irritatingly inactive. He had a standard protection ability, and another protection ability that prevented other abilities except for kills.
No one but Atheotes was really using my apprentice system.
I sincerely apologize YLC. I've only been active somewhat in the Resident Evil game and even then... Regardless, I was gonna use the Aprentice on Scienter.
Since my first result on Beskar was that he was ill, I thought he was Mafia, and thus I continued Role-Blocking him to prevent him from doing anything.
I loved how everyone was looking for an alive person who was Nyx, when it twas really me HAHAHAH!
I was so, so close to gettting it right on you, scottishranger; YLC can vouch for that. I just grabbed the stick at the wrong end, figured you as a possible "Nyx cultist" rather than as Nyx himself. Ultimately, as you among others can attest, I decided to share almost everything I knew with almost everyone and see where things landed.
How did the Chthonic monsters work? Did the ghosts involved know what had happened?
I can't believe Khazaar had ghost council access. I seem to recall a certain someone saying the host had said that would of course be majorly unbalanced ...
White_eyes, it was a pleasure, most of the time.

Aww, too bad the game was over, I was hoping I'd get something to do. :tongue3:

Yes, if anyone but Khazaar had access to it - Andres and Sasaki would not be allowed to view it, and Khazaar could only vaguely describe what he had read. I was very careful in allowing Khazaar to utilize the Ghost Council QK.
Cthonic Monsters were converted Ghosts, who retained their other abilities in addition to having a 25% chance of either inducing madness in their target (scottish gained control of their vote) or outright killing someone. They could not be converted to any other alignment.
Certain roles would make better Cthonic Monsters, specifically other Psychics, including you

No kidding....I wonder why we never had any powers beyond recruiting(gods should only have been lynchable, since it was just a Human Vessel):juggle2:
Even Khazzer was Night-kill immune:laugh4:
And they even had access to the "Ghost Council"?:inquisitive:
A little too unbalanced much?:laugh4:
YLC loves giving me the hard roles:wall: It was super-fun even though I was lynching Mafia half the time....:2thumbsup:

Not enough killers to initially threaten you - you were originally intended to be semi- night kill immune but that got trashed when to few players showed up.
As for Khazaar's access to the Ghost Council - had to make up for the loss of Morpheus some how...

I was fooling around most of the time, but I had fun.

There was no way I could have won....."Nxy" was like my primary enemy and I was being sold out by my own "Cultists":laugh4:
Should have been something in place to hit the "psychics", I really don't think I had much of a chance with this....sad to know I was going to die from the outset...:help:
Edit:How did CDF get a "Fanatic"?

Ack.
Oh -- what would have happened with Double A if I'd resurrected myself? One of the reasons I did not was because I didn't want to lose his investigations.

Double A would have indeed lost his abilities - I designed it as a moral choice for you. Either let Double A's character suffer and gain possible game breaking information, or come back, remove any chance he could go rogue, but suffer in your chances to find the mafia.
And even if you tried to metagame it by coming back and dying, you could never actually erase Double A's path towards serial killerishness.

ah...too bad the game had to end this way. The best thing about the game was the writeups and the complexity. thoroughly enjoyed it :2thumbsup: the fact that we have to find ourselves an apprentice looked difficult to begin with. I thought i will convert Beskar (since it was common knowledge he started as townie) and then ask him to become my apprentice. Fact that he was protected by Jolt the first 2 nights got me nowhere.
as told already, i was the town priest and TheFlax was my apprentice who was now free to work on his own. I was going to ask Greyblades to be my next apprentice :sweatdrop:
I had a lot of discussions with Renata trying to figure what was happening and she obvious had more information to give me. We were trying to find the Irish doctor (Jolt). Discounted Beskar's theory about Andres being the doctor that saved him was discounted. We thought Sevis could be the doctor...but no. Our next actions were to convert Beskar and Seon back to townies if their alignment had changed.
@ White_eyes: if you are talking abt me being non co-operative... initiating communication with a "spill everything you know or i will force it out of you" PM is not going to get much co-operation...atleast from me
You should have saw how he responded when I sent him a pm which said "Hello Ada". :laugh4: :laugh4: :laugh4: his trousers turned brown.

I was doomed anyway:laugh4:
besides, I got what I wanted out of Renata:mellow:
Me and my "Buffing" really got me much farther then I should have...:juggle2:
CDF signed me and Renata's death warrant by giving Andres our role names...:sweatdrop:(That sore loser:stare:)
Beskar was already telling Andres who you were and you likely would have died this night or the one after....(I figured you might also be "Nxy" and Beskar just said...."IDK Kill'em all":laugh4:)
The most enjoyable part about this game for me joking around saying I am Nyarlathothep, noticing that Nyarlathothep had indeed appeared in town, and then going into discussions about what Nyarlathothep wants with anyone I could grab hold of :p

I investigated you before we got anything from CDF...I don't think he said anything about you anyway.

I am sorry to see you leaving YLC.
I had a lot of fun with this game, and I hope someday you can regale us with the full tale of that creeping darkness. Though I was scared of the unknown, I appreciated every minutes I was alive, and the atmosphere.
Have a good one,

Yeah, it was quite interesting. I was contemplating playing CDf or using him as a conduit to help scotty, but I kinda messed up when I was preparing for something IRL and forgot about the investigation results for the Ghost QT fellows, accidentally getting Chaotix off the Voice of the Dead role :embarassed:
Great game YLC, I really loved the write ups, and the general confusion whereupon it seemed like nobody knew what was going on :2thumbsup:
Really sorry to see you leaving, you said you would leave the first time, and came back. I really hope that you'll be back soon again, though I'll just be here to read your write ups, due to my inability to participate except in select months. I love your games, and your style of the gameplay, do come back soon.
And to CDf, thanks for recruiting me, it was great fun being a cultist before I got converted again :smash::clown:

Aww. Disappointing that things had to end.
Good call, Andres. Indeed I was a regular townie. I wanted to die so I could at least be a ghost or something useful.

Wait, I was going on the path towards genocide even though my orders were protect and investigate?
Wut?
And in the next game in this series, you should definitely keep the GC. And knowing the mafia godfather was kinda cool, like you know who the head honcho is but don't know how you're going to take him out until you get there. Next time, have more fights between me and Khazzar, I have a good idea as to why you cut the fight, but that would have made the game for me right there.
I was doomed anyway:laugh4:

I had Atheotes protected this last night, by Double A. :p And would have lied to you about Double A finding the doctor, as well (Jolt was his investigation choice), so that situation wasn't going to change unless something crazy happened.
Jolt and A1, why did you stay so quiet, even after I was dead and begging for information?
Sevis would have prevented us from lynching Andres, wouldn't he? We still would have had to find him before the game could end, and as already investigated (yeah, of course Atheotes had some limits in that regard, but how many non-Town roles would have been doing nothing? (especially active players like Sevis)) it would have taken quite some time to work back around to him. Things could have changed quite a bit.
Games with lots of recruitment and alignment-changing like this one aren't easy to deal with. I'm not usually a fan, but the storyline in this one got me hooked. I have to tell you that getting that role PM with Christmas coming up and knowing I'd have no time whatsoever for the next several weeks ... eek.
I doubt you'd have to lynch me to lynch Andres - after all, I was not mafia, even though I won with it. I was actually quite sure Andres was already lynchable after this night would end...

So both me and Andres killed each other......Awesome:beam:
Oh and Sasaki, as I noticed in your quick-topic. There was two ways I contacted you. One was to gain information on pro-town roles and other roles, which could have given me access to the towns resources. Also, at the same time, I wasn't 100% sure you was indeed scum, so I wasn't going to say to you "I am working for Andres", as you would have pasted it to the town. Thus, I confronted you as a neutral role.
To Andres, I always spoke with messages like "To my master", etc. Which was to gain his trust in such a degree that he would be willing to spare me. Thus not get night-killed.
Funnily enough, I kept talking to Renata the whole game who turned out to be psychic zero. :laugh4:

:beam:
Yeah, I do that. But apparently the mafia were not willing to take my information willingly given :laugh4: Instead having to figure it out on there own.
This was one of the funnest games I have been in YLC, the setting and setup were wonderful.
I sent a pair of PM's to double A and White eyes after I was dead stating that I wanted to see if I was right in my intel, I thought AA was Psychic zero and I KNEW white eyes was Ada. I was wrong about AA, he was only a regular psychic, but hey can't get them all.
But honestly mafia, I gave you all these power roles names before I was lynched (well, I did tell you it was possible AA was a power role), and you were only getting to them NOW :laugh4::laugh4::laugh4:
I just wanted to say that Andres was awesome. Best role ever. If any points were given out for stylishness he should have won this thing by a mile.
Double A

CDF, I wasn't just a regular psychic. I had a freaking protection, and when Renata died, I could do 2 actions including a cumulative night kill.
That's pretty overpowered right there.
