The soothing silence was interrupted by mechanical sounds of hundreds of sleeping pods opening themselves. Twelve people slowly stirred to wakefulness in a groggy state, for the cycle was not supposed to end for another day. Disoriented, they each emerged from their respective pod with a throbbing headache. The dim lighting barely illuminating the sterile metallic floor and walls of the ship, they took notice of each other before turning their gaze upon the scores of pods neatly arranged in rows all around them. No one else was rising and yet Stellar Transport XJY-0745295 had been nearly filled to capacity in passengers and crew. Men and women, old and young, they all lay in their opened cocoons, some seemingly peaceful, but others with a twisted visage. Very quickly, the haze of sleepiness was gone, replaced by questions: What had happened? What was going on? What if I'm next!?

Introduction
----------------
A man, in his late forties, made his way toward the front of the ship, he was quickly joined by another man in his thirties. At the end of a row of sleeping pods, they found the captain of the ship slumped on a control console. Blood was pooling at his feet, besides which laid a loaded pulser. The older man picked up the weapon, while the younger one turned over the body.
“He died moments ago, multiple stab wounds.”
The older man nodded and pointed at the nearest sleeping pod. “I think he saved our lives, judging from the condition of the crew and most of the passengers.”
They both saw that the glass of the pod had been shattered by pulser fire. Evidently, the captain had tried to get out, but from the blood trail leading to the pod, he had been attacked while still inside.
“We should go tell the others.” The older man said. “What's your name?”
“Alejo de Lula.” The younger man replied.
“I'm Reilly Banks.”
They shook hands
---------------
At the aft of the ship a young woman and two older men were huddled around a computer console.
“Bring up the ship status.” A hearty looking man with white hair said. “I'm Andrei Kerensky, by the way.”
“Eve Saint-Claire.” The woman muttered as her nimble fingers danced upon the interface screen.
There was a silence and both of them looked at the third man.
“Oh...” He shrugged. “Diedrich White, plea-”
“This doesn't look good.” Eve cut him off as her screen was filled with a schematic of the ship, many of the sections appearing in an angry shade of red.
“Engines, Navigation... even the Medbay is out. At least life support is still in working order.” Andrei appraised the readings.
“And look at this...” She brought up another screen.
“We're heading straight...” The old man started.
“...straight at a star.” Diedrich replied breathlessly, almost in disbelief.
-----------------
In the main hold, the rest of the survivors where milling about. A couple was seated on the edge of a sleeping pod, holding each other tightly and whispering to each other.
Nearby, a boy was sobbing next to the pods of what were probably his deceased parents. A woman in her mid thirties kneeled next to him and tentatively embraced him. The boy grasped her tightly.
“Its alright now, everything will be alright.” She tried to say soothingly. “What's your name?”
“Ed-edward” The boy choked.
“Well, I'm Christy, Edward. Christy... Hart.” She struggled with the last word. “Come with me, lets go meet the others.”
A few pods away, a young woman with dark skin stared at the dead occupants of two sleeping pods, speechless, as if she was still processing the reality of it all.
Finally, a man and a woman were wandering through the row of sleeping pods. The man, in his early thirties, stopped in front of each deceased person and muttured a few words, before moving on. The woman, in her late twenties, simply walked , stunned and apparently trying to take her mind off what was going on.
-----------------
Minutes later, everyone was assembled in the main hold.
“We've got bad news.” Reilly Banks announced, with Alejo de Lula standing next to him.
“So do we.” Andrei Kerensky replied in an even voice, flanked by Eve Saint-Claire and Diedrich White.
“Well then, go ahead.”
“In a few words, unless we repair the engines and the navigation systems, which have been damaged by micro meteorites, then in five hours we will be inside the corona of a star and quite dead.” Kerensky told them bluntly.
There was a moment of silent panic between many of the survivors, but Reilly raised his hand to call attention on himself.
“I'm afraid to add that beyond this dire news, there is a killer among us. He or she killed all other passengers and the crew, our survival was probably not planned. We need to repair this ship, but we need to be careful.”
“Who exactly put you in charge?” The Asian man asked, still holding his wife.
“Well, I do have the captain's pulser.” Reilly brandished the weapon for all to see. “Don't worry though, I don't plan on using it without good reason.”
“So how do we find this killer?” Christy Hart asked.
There was a deep silence.
“We could do a vote?” The woman who was wandering through the pods earlier spoke up.
Some were about to protest, but Christy Hart cut them off.
“She's right. Judgment by our peers, its the only way.”
Reilly Banks nodded grudgingly and one by one the others accepted.
“But...” Christy continued, unexpectedly. “This boy, Edward...” She held him near her. “...Will be left out of these proceedings. Surely he can't be the killer.”
“That's fine by me.” The man who had spoken to everyone of the deceased said.
Others soon agreed.
“So be it.” Reilly Banks declared. “There will be a judgment decided by each of us, save for the boy who shall not be voted and will not vote. Furthermore, we will have to decide if we are to kill the person we condemn or simply trap them in a sleeping pod.” He finished grimly.

Each "day phase" will represent 15 minutes in game, while each "night phase" will represent 45 minutes in game. Thus, the ship needs to be repaired before the 6th "day phase". If it is not repaired by then, everyone on board dies.
To repair the ship, during the "day phase" you have to write Repair: Engine, Repair: Navigation or Repair: Medbay, all of these must be bolded to count.
As in other mafia games, to vote someone, write Vote: Alejo de Lula for example, to change that vote, the format is Unvote, Vote: Amy Glenn. Again these must be bolded. (Please vote for character names and not player names, to keep with the ambiance.)
Vote: No Lynch and Vote: Abstain are permitted.
You can also opt to choose the method of disposing of the person who is voted for by writing Method: Sleeping Pod (Imprisoning the character, he or she can still talk, but do nothing else), Method: Pulser (Single shot to the head, consumes the pulser's ammo) or Method: Airlock (A most gruesome death.) (Be warned, it is possible for someone to escape a sleeping pod, either by some event or the help of someone.)
There are no locations in this game, meaning someone who is repairing navigation can use an ability on someone who is repairing the engines.
Being in "repair mode" is no proof of innocence, for characters can still use their abilities since these supersede the repair action, unless otherwise written.
Barring exception, each character has a 1 to 4 score in each Repair: Mechanical (For Engines and a bit Medbay), Repair: Electronical (For Navigation and a bit Medbay) and Combat, for when there is an attack. Items can modify the latter score by a bonus of 1 to 4.
Tips:
At the start of your posts, write the name of your character, either in a description or simply alone. This will help others associate you with your character.
Write descriptions in italics, spoken parts in "quotation marks" and OOC portion within spoiler tags.

I'll be Edward, the annoying child prodigy who shows up and demonstrates to the brilliant and better-educated adults what they are doing so wrong, and solves the crisis within 30 minutes of it starting.
I'll be Amy Glenn. She's the only one that seems normal.

I'm afraid I have to disagree with you Miss Amy. I was doing my advanced spatial harmony dynamics homework when I opened a fissure in spacetime and I visited the end of the game, and I can say with absolute certainty that it is in fact you who is the insane murderer among us.
Now if you'll excuse me, I am going to go play with my legos.

I simply never expected so many signups so soon.
I take it that the third slot of May means that this game is at least a month away?
If it is too close to being realised, I may have to withdraw; think I need a break from the Gameroom, so to speak.

Yes, that's what I'm aiming for. Its almost ready, but in two weeks I am moving to my own place and I do not wish for that to disturb the game. Is that good for you? I'd love to have you aboard.

Yes, that would be fantastic; it's just that this place has simply filled the void in my life that was occupied by bloody WoW and I need a break from it. The fact that my post count is catching up to yours and I've been here two years less is testimony to that.
I look forward to the game though. :3
I just realized that I had forgotten to write down that, for obvious reasons, the dead cannot speak in the thread.

Roleplaying in space? However did I miss this?
Are there still places? Can I be Susann Becker?
Is it possible to go through a whole game speaking only in questions?
And would even I try something as lame and stupid as that?
You know who should actually play this? Catharsis. (Amsel) Roleplay, no communication out of thread, quite small -- it's right up his alley.

Great, I'm in - thanks TheFlax.
I can't keep wondering about things while I drool on all those elaborate games I see around here, so I got a question for you on this game: How can a player tell something to another player, only to him, if he can't use PMs?
I'm thinking, maybe through the host?

Well there might be an ability that can help you with that, or perhaps you'll find a way. I'm not too keen on giving too much early this long before the game starts, but I will say that creativity can play a big role in this game.

"Alright gents and ladies, listen up!"
Reilly Banks idly weighed the pulse gun back and forth in his hand, as if deciding whether to try it out immediately, while carefully eyeing each of the other survivors in turn.
"We're frikkin' eleven people, we're on a space ship that's highly damaged and about to kill us in mere hours, and there's a mass murderer among us. We need to get organized, and we need it now. First of all we need to get the ship back to a semblance of working order. Whoever's good with the mechanics, head over to that engine room right away and see what can be done. Kerensky, wanna take control of that mission, or do you fancy yourself more of an electrician? We need the navigation systems up too. Eve? White? What of the rest of you, think you can be of any assistance in this? We need to get moving, and we need it now!"

Christy Hart gently stroked the small boy's head, "Shh, it's alright Edward, it's going to be fine,"
She continued stroking his head and looked at Reilly,
"I'm a pretty alright with computers, if no one else with more skill wants to do it, I'll take a crack at it."
Jake Harris shook his head with a sad expression.
"Such a tragedy, so many people dead. May you go in peace my brothers and sisters, the universe claimed you, but you shall never be forgotten."
He sighed, then an expression of resolve appeared on his face.
"If we really have five hours to repair the ship, we should get to work right now. I don't possess the knowledge to repair it, but I will gladly lend my hand any way I can. Let's get to work! Where do we start? What should I do?"

She smiled at Edward, "Is that okay with you Edward?"
Leaning back against the hold's wall, Eve kept herself occupied by drumming her fingers rhythmically upon her legs, listening to the subdued sobbing of Edward and the gentle reassurances of nearby adults; she had her own problems, but there was nothing like a heartbroken and possibly bereaved child to put everything into perspective for her.
"If you like, you can stay here and keep an eye on the little one, Christie", she spoke softly, her dulcet tone barely above a whisper, "I've got a magic touch when it comes to electrical equipment."

Chrisy nodded at Eve, and went back to gently petting Edward. It broke her heart to see a child in the midst of this horror.
She looked around and noticed a few other people seemed to share the same distraught look. She could only imagine the face she was putting up.
She pushed these thoughts to the back of her mind, for now Edward was her world.

Andrei gets up looking through his notes on the engines of the ship noting all he can about the particuler idiosyncratic elements of the engine. He sees everyone looking at him waiting for some kind of guidance as the oldest person here yet he does not know what. He mutters to himself

It will be a nice change being a passenger they said bah. Guess it will be allright to get the old brain working again after a little while out of the game. I will be going to the engine room.

I don't want to be left alone. But someone's gotta make the ship go again... I guess....
Diedrich White has recovered nicely from the shock, or so it seems until he opens his mouth.
I don't suppose there are any lab rats on this ship, are there? Even a ferret? Someone's stray pet hamster?
Because, you know, it's occurred to me that if we're all five hours away from disappearing in a shower of charged particles, we may as well get some science out of it. Imagine the paper I could write! Unprecedented in the annals of scientific endeavor! Effect of close approach to Star (what star is this, anyway) on the biological systems of Mus musculus!
I don't suppose anyone would agree to waiting for about four and a half hours and *then* fix the navigation system?
Diedrich takes in the varied expressions around him with a look of belated recognition of reality.
Ah, right. What are you all looking at, I don't have a mouse anyway. Get to work!

This is so beneath my level of genius.
Reilly leans towards Jake Harris at his side, and speaks in a low voice: "Man, I sure wouldn't mind me some of her "magic touch". Guess it's a pity I don't have any electronic implants that need attention, eh?" Giving Jake a wink, he moves over towards where Eve Saint-Claire is sitting.
"That's great people, glad to see some initiative around here. We may survive this yet, or at the very least we'll have something interesting to do for the last 5 hours of our lives. Kerensky and White should get the engines up in no time, I'm sure. Alejo, how about you bring Christy and Edward over to the Medbay to see what can be done there? Eve and I are going to take care of the Navigation equipment. The rest of you lot, make yourselves useful!"
Reilly extends his hand towards the sitting Eve. "Come on honey*, let's get moving, I'm sure you'll have the systems up in no time."

* I was sooooo tempted to write "treacle" instead. ~;)
Still holding his wife, and stroking her shoulder comfortingly, Jin Sung spoke up.
Hey everyone. Jin Sung here. I've spend a lot of time on Starships, so I've got a good understanding of the workings of this old gal. I guess some of my ancestors must have been mechanics, so I can get to work on getting the engines or the med-bay up and running. Since we are on course for a bit of a scrape with a star it's probably more important to get the engines working, than the med-bay right now. Yeah?
Jin sighed.
It's a pity most of the systems are down. Have you seen the navigational holograph? It's fantastic, I've wasted countless hours just studying the star-maps. Ah.. they're so inspiring.
His voice trailed off, with a wistful look in his eyes.
Eve raised an eyebrow inquistively, murmured "okay, treacle" then prepared to follow Reilly to the navigation systems.

Standing over six feet tall, with high cheekbones and a naturally stern countenance, Susann Becker always cut an imposing figure. Glancing over at Diedrich White, she gave a condescending smile.
"Only six dimensions? I never play mental chess in less than nine... But, while I have total faith in my own ability to multitask, I worry that your inferior male brain would only be distracted from the job at hand. And, on that subject, I'm wondering whether we should split ourselves evenly between the three things that need repairing, or if there might be some advantage to concentrating the greater portion of our effort on repairing one thing? Any opinions?"
Although Ms Becker waited politely for an answer, the look on her face implied she held little hope of being impressed by what her fellow survivors had to offer.

BANG CLANK BANG. Jake Harris was working on the engines with Diedrich and Jin, and was trying to fix a dislodged piece without much success. He motioned at Jin.
"So what's your story, brother? Why are you on this ship? That previous talk about star maps was interesting, are you a pilot?"
********
Jake approached Deidrich White.
"Hey Deidrich. What were you saying about mistreatment of poor defenseless creatures such as ferrets? You can't do this, it's an evil, terrible thing to do. These animals feel the pain as much as we, humans. Is this how you envision your last hours in the Universe, inflicting pain on other living beings?"
(Diedrich @ Jake)
Oh. You're one of those.
Excuse me if I don't waste my remaining time alive debating animal rights. There's a woman here who is under the delusion that she is my mental superior. That promises to be much more entertaining, don't you think?
If we do go into the star, Jake, I'll toast a ferret in your honor. Cheers.

Eve leaned against the same wall she had occupied only forty-five minutes previously, folding her arms and watching as the rest of the passengers returned to the hold. Reilly made some comment about teamwork, but she merely shrugged her shoulders; in Eve's opinion, it hardly constituted as a team effort when she was bearing the brunt of the workload.
The internal politics of the ship didn't matter to her; she wanted to return to the navigation systems as quickly as possible, fix everything and return home, preferably without anyone else dying.

Christy gives Edward some chips. The boy's statements ring true to her, but what can the town do? With no evidence to base it on, senselessly killing the remaining survivors would be ludicrous.
"Sometimes Edward," she started "grown ups do some strange things because they're scared. Hurting all the good people here is not going to help anyone, if we can just repair the ship, and move away from the star, maybe then we can worry about surviving after that." she sighed, and stroked his hair. I am simply saying what needs to be said get it out in the open before anyone does anything foolish by killing someone who could be of assistance. As for you you have biotech knowledge what makes you think you have any knowledge on how to repair Halbech Class 6A starship engines? Hmm what is the internal capacity of the engine? what is its best stress level? How do you you make the Forced induction? I have lived on a starship since I was 19 mate I think I know a little bit more about the engines then you do. Thus I can fix these engines by myself if need be if you were there with your fancy "education" you would act like you know more then I do since I have no piece of paper telling me what I know. Do you know what my previous job was? Chief Engineer on a starship I know this class like the back of my hand. So if you want to help me that is fine I am sure you can carry a wrench just as well as the next person but do not think for a minute I will waste my time in a pissing contest about who knows more because quite frankly we don't have the time for it and it will be an all too easy victory for me and I don't like seeing people made fools of.

Besides, I am not sure Diedrich is the right man for this job. I've seen him work earlier and I was not impressed. Jin was the only competent man in our team."

"I think the boy's right, we need to try putting various of us in the sleeping pods. Saving the ship won't do us any good if we're all killed inside it. Sung seems as good as anyone to try putting to sleep first, he doesn't seem to be particularly proficient with repairs. I think more scrutiny should also be given to Kerensky. People started dying after he spoke up, although the same is true of me. Meanwhile, I'll take Jake's place repairing Medbay."

I find the reason of accusation shockingly poor.
If a man gets accused for liking the stars. How about this for a story?
I was raised in a poor district. Crimes was usual scenary at where I live.
Does that make me a criminal? A Murderer?
Might as well lynch me instead.
And guess where I was yesterday. With the murdered man, fixing the med bay.

Hello everyone I have worked long and hard on the engines and I have some bad news progress has being slow. Infact far less work was done then what i expected.
Andrei glares at Diedrich
At this current rate of repairs I will be unable to repair the engines before we reach the star. Now there are two explanations for this first the engines could be more damaged then I thought. There could be things wrong deep inside the engines that I cannot see and since I lack my more advanced diagnostic equipment I cannot detect these problems. Secondily Diedrich could be sabotaging my efforts since I had assumed he somewhat knew what he was doing I can see I was mistaken. Diedrich please explain how come you did so little work last work cycle?

OOC: Seems I missed a whole set of rounds, Thursdays-to-Sundays aren't great for me. Be back later, probably tomorrow sometime.
Eve ran a hand through her hair as she listened intently to what each person had to say; there were accusations and recriminations, and there was an overwhelming sense of hostility in the air that she had not felt previously... she shuddered involuntarily at the thought of confrontation, as though several blasts of an icy breeze had coursed through her.
"We took another look at the nav systems", she finally said, having to raise her voice somewhat to be heard above the commotion, "at the current workrate, I'd say we should be just about done in time to avert disaster".
She cast a look over the rest of the crew, pondered something for a moment, and then climbed to her feet; with her back straight and her voice louder still, she spoke oncemore, her gaze focused upon Zareen Sung.
"Miss Zareen, I have to ask... what is the point in repairing the medbay at this stage? With the engines in dire need of repair, surely anyone not in navs should be there?"
She was growing in confidence, and found herself thinking that this was just like World of Starcraft on the Hypernet; with Reilly remaining quiet thus far, someone had to step up and direct proceedings... this was just like any other dungeon, save for the fact it was very much real, and Eve was determined to steer everyone through.
"Myself, Susann and Reilly can handle the navs", Eve continued, "I would suggest all hands-on for the engine room... no point having navs up if we're not going to be able to move away from the star".
She turned to Andrei, who had readily suggested that Diedrich take a pod-nap, citing his lack of contribution towards the repair effort as sufficient reasoning; "Andrei, I think you should remember that not everyone on the ship will be as skilled as you with repairs", she explained, "and I believe that only having two of you working did you no favours... let's hope with more people you'll fare better?"
Eve looked around the room again, then resuming speaking; "I don't really have any suspects, but I don't want to send an innocent man or woman to their death... the sleeping pod's the best option."

Finally, she addresses the rest of the group.
As much as it pains me to cast doubt on one of the sisterhood, I have to ask what Christy Hart is up to here. Kerensky, you're so scummy your eyes are green. It's apparently escaped your the notice of your puny mind that this is a small ship, and any of us can take action anywhere -- one needn't actually be "repairing the engines" in order to sabotage them, for instance. But no, you'd rather make me look bad, who is coincidentally the only person suspicious of you, and who has been suspicious of you since you first popped up as "savior of the engines" earlier today. I notice no trouble was reported before you started work. My genius might not extend to manual labor, but I do what I can.

This right after piling on to my suspicion of Kerensky on the basis that the murderer did not strike when Kerensky was not present -- Amy was quick to note that this also applied to her. Hanging a bit of a lampshade on the crime of absence, Amy? And then this bit of self-consciousness, too. Why the need for such a parenthetical observation? I think Amy might know quite well whether the murderer and saboteur are one and the same, yet wishes to seem as if she does not.

Your slip is showing, Ms Glenn. You killed Jake. You framed me for it. And now you don't pursue the obvious conclusion, because you're so nice and all. So fair-minded. And BECAUSE MY DEATH, AS AN INNOCENT PASSENGER, WOULD POINT THE FINGER RIGHT BACK AT YOU.

Easy enough for the bad man to simply not kill to make Diedrich look bad. It is nice that no one died and the repairs are going to happen, but the lack of murders in the last hour don't mean anything... at least, that's what I think.
I even asked the main computer what it thought, and it said "yep". :beam:
Oh, and Kerensky, too.

2. The murderer chose not to murder during the past hour so as to frame Diedrich. As long as they're trying to do that, they're not killing anyone, so I'm fine with that.
3. They can only get away with killing every other hour, in which case another one of us will die during the time between when we return to work and when we next get together.

Eve raised an eyebrow at Andrei's comments; with hands at her hips, she turned to him with a scrutinous look in her eyes.
"How can you be so certain that we have detained Jake's killer?", she said boldly, "it's a pretty clear set-up, wouldn't you agree?"
She decided that her opinion warranted further explanation.
"To me, it was all too obvious that the murderer was going to stop their activities in order to put more pressure onto Diedrich and cast him as Jake's killer.", she theorised, "personally, I don't buy it because it's such an obvious distraction, which is why your statement both surprises me and strikes me as incredibly naive... or something more sinister entirely."
"On a lighter note, we're making real progress with the navs", Eve continued, "I think we're looking at another hour or so to fix them entirely; I suggest all available hands except Susann and Reilly head to the engines, we'll finish navs off."

Excellent news that navs are almost up again. My comments previous was somewhat flippent I admit. I was mearly saying so that the sabotuer whomever it is thinks that we are complacint for if he continues to do nothing to imped our progress that is a good thing. In reality I feel no one should be podded untill more of the ship is fixed because if we mistaken we will have far fewer people to help us fix the ship and we will all die. If you wish to pod me se be it I will attempt to continue to help if you just place my pod in the engine room so I can continue to give advice based on my years of loyal service in the merchant navy.
The engine repairs are going well. Which is excellent. I'll keep repairing them, hopefully they'll be up and running soon.

Zareen Sung quickly read through ABC of Mafia and made a comment.
"I also think this is a set up judging from the numbers. With the numbers of 12 it is like that there is 2 mafia. It is unlikely that we lynched the mafia on day 1, thus even if Diedrich is mafia, his buddy would've sent an order in. What I suggest is letting Diedrich spend another night in the Sleeping Rod to see their move."
Zareen closed the book and started to talk normally.

2. The murderer chose not to murder during the past hour so as to frame Diedrich. As long as they're trying to do that, they're not killing anyone, so I'm fine with that.
Too complacent. If I am being framed, then the murderer can resume killing at any time.
3. They can only get away with killing every other hour, in which case another one of us will die during the time between when we return to work and when we next get together.
Convenient of you to introduce an explanation that lets you off the hook for no murder having taken place in the first hour after our waking.
If I understand our progress correctly, if we don't repair the engines and navigation during the next two hours, we all die. I'd rather not take anyone else away from service at this critical time."

vote no lynch
As I said I feel that no one should be podded at this current time as the repair are in a very tenuous state to say the least.
Voting no lynch at this stage is just giving the mafia more room to breathe and isn't helping us at all. You're maintaining the appearance of a helpful townie by reiterating your desire to repair things, but I'm not as gullible as to fall for that; it's tantamount to soft-claiming, by saying "I'm useful to repairs, don't lynch me!". In this game, there's no real need to soft-claim, so what kind of role would find it a necessity to continue to do so?
I'm also curious as to why your activity in this game is far beyond any activity I've seen from you in any previous games.

Mmm... Fascinating article that. You should give it a read, Banksy. It explains how men like you lust after strong women because you're too weak to think for yourselves.
And, speaking of weakness, I'm not entirely surprised to see Kerensky advocating a limp-wristed policy - he is a man, after all. But I am disappoined that Ms Glenn is similarly inclined. I do hope my first impression of her as a strong, independent woman wasn't as inaccurate as it now looks.

Hey everybody, I'm Edward!
I've been a busy little boy, let me tell you what I've been up to, it's SO COOL!!! First of all, right away I tooked a look at Alejo de Lula, and he was trying to restore the Medbay. He didn't seem to be having much fun there. But I didn't see anything scary. That was the first hour.
Then, I sawed Reilly Banks, and he was working on the Navigation systems and swearing an awful lot. Seems like he was having trouble fixing it. Again, I sawed nothing bad. That was the second hour.
After that, I didn't see anybodies. It was all dark and nobody was around. That was the third hour. Sorry, I dont have more to say there, but guess what?
I just camed back from... the tubes... and I sawed Mister Sung and Misses Sung and they were tryin to repair the engines, and I saw Eve Saint... uh, Eclair. She was working on the navigashun systems. This the fourff hour.
I saw all those people but I didn't see anybody do a murder, which makes me all confused because I think I shoulda seen a murder in the last few minutes. I guess it happened while I was looking at Eve, so.... the bestest thing I can say is that Eve is innocent.
I think it still could be Mister Sung who did it, because he was there and he coulda seen who attacked his wife, but I guess he wasn't looking. I dunno.
I think Deidrich should be let out of his pod so he can help with... stuff.
I'm sorry I didn't catch any crinimals in the act, but I'm just a little boy and I trieded my hardest. I cants keep these a secrets anymore because we're almost died.
Eve flexed her fingers, sore from hours of trawling through encrypted navigational code and erroneous onboard data; she felt mentally exhausted, even if there were no physical signs indicative of such a state. She merely nodded sleepily as Edward explained what he had seen, then put her own thoughts forward.
"The navigations are coming along perfectly and I believe that we'll be finished up within the next hour", Eve smiled weakly, "but I'm still uncertain as to how the engines are coming along... we might need the majority heading over there to fix them up."
She paused for a moment, gathering her thoughts, and continued.
"We should release Diedrich from the pod and replace him with Kerensky; I'm still getting an awful vibe from him and it's clear that Diedrich's innocent."

Cos I think you're scummy, and hiding behind the visage of a helpful mechanic is the perfect cover; I feel that we have more than enough people to repair the engines without your assistance as we can have two people on navs, everyone else on engines.
I am not sure as to who should be podded I shall awaite progress updates on navs
Observe this post by me:
"The navigations are coming along perfectly and I believe that we'll be finished up within the next hour"
It's like you're not even reading what I have to say properly.
and engines.
You just contradicted yourself; if you are "the only person" who knows what's what with the engines, then a progress update regarding the state of said engines should be coming from you, nobody else.
I also notice that you managed to vote for no lynch in the previous phase but failed to lodge a vote for repairing the engines... why is that, if you're the best mechanic we have onboard?

Amy Glenn shoots a nasty look at Andrei Kerensky
"The 'we need you to help repair the engines' argument holds less weight when you don't actually help repair them. Diedrich is vindicated, so let's get him out of that pod and give you his place in there. The Sungs and I were making good progress as far as I can tell, so if Diedrich takes the place of the late Ms. Sung, we should be fine."

Eve turned to Amy.
"Progress is good, but do you think you can complete things soon?", a tone of urgency in her voice, "we only have an hour left before we hit the star, and no amount of fixed navs is going to help if we've not got running engines!"

As I said before with myself working on the engines we will be able to fix them well and truely before we hit the stars. If you wish to coninue this vendetta againest me so be it but you are dooming everyone on board with your foolish behaviour once the engines are repaired I will willingly go to the pod because I will have done what needed to be done in order to save this ship. With that many people around me how will I be able to slip out to do some murdering? If you wish to place me in the pod at least put the pod in the engine room so that I may shout out advice.
If you wish to coninue this vendetta againest me so be it but you are dooming everyone on board with your foolish behaviour
Unfortunately, this isn't a vendetta; this is a mafia game, someone is mafia, and thus far I believe that it's you.
With that many people around me how will I be able to slip out to do some murdering? If you wish to place me in the pod at least put the pod in the engine room so that I may shout out advice.
This argument holds no water whatsoever.
Let's look back to the night that Romanic died, where he was accompanied solely by Beefy. Now, I tend to notice the absence of one among few more than I do the absence of one among many; it's standard human nature... so why didn't Beefy notice Romanic disappear from the room when he was murdered? Or notice someone come into the engine room and kill Romanic? This is the same Beefy that is dead, killed in the same manner as Romanic and thus highly likely to be an innocent party, by the way, so we can't say he's an accomplice.
This same argument applies to Beefy himself, killed when in the same room as autolycus and Psychonaut, and to you also; if Beefy, auto and Psycho didn't see their respective partners for that night's kill, how would others have noticed the murderer slipping away?
It doesn't seem to make sense when the murders are committed, perhaps when we head back to the hold or something, but it is clear that it doesn't matter who is in the room along with the murderer or the victim.
The systems for all three repair targets are just about all over the ship. There are no "locations" and no one is innocent simply because they were with someone else. It would be too easy that way.

I must say that we are focusing on the wrong area. You are all attacking me but what I find my concerning is the lack of response from many of our fellow passengers. The vast majority of people are not voting as to what we should be doing every day cycle. We are handing control of this game over to the sabotuer they can pick and choose who is thrown into the sleeping pod as they wish. We must all vote even if you do vote for me I must say just vote. Too many of us are coasting by saying much but nothing of significance. Force people to vote so that at the very least we are able to have some record of their thoughts.

Susann Becker looks up from the video screen - on which she has been watching a documentary on Women's SpaceGolf - to see Jin crying over the loss of his wife...
Pull yourself together, man. I'm sure you'll find some other poor, deluded girl to iron your shirts for you. Or maybe you can use this as a learning experience, and hook up with someone who you won't end up oppressing with your every waking breath. I believe Banksy is single...
Now, as for the old fool White, I suppose we'd better let him out of the pod for the time being. I can't say I'm looking forward to listening to any more of his inane misogyny, but we can use an extra pair of hands getting the engines working again.
And on the subject of the engines, I'm not impressed by the idea of putting Kerensky to sleep at this time. He may be an insufferable fool, but he seems to have some inhereted male disposition for working with big machinery. Nothing like the finesse of Ms Saint-Claire, of course, but we need him on task right now. Right now, I'm still minded to let Ms Hart spend a night in the pod. It's nice to see her finally show a tiny bit of spirit, but her comments have an edge of desperation which only strengthens my suspicion that she has something to hide.

Well, isn't that fantastic? I'm starting to believe I've truly outdone myself now and wonder why I bother sometimes; I'm clearly not as adept at playing these games as I would like to think.
You see, something struck me earlier today; after the chastising I gave the town in Beefdom for making assumptions, I go ahead and do the exact same in this game, the clearest case of practicing what one preaches that I've ever seen, to be quite honest.
When one plays a game of mafia, they usually take something as a given and thus make assumptions based around that; I fear that we have made the greatest assumption of all and that it hasn't worked out for us.
Time will tell, but do not be disheartened if we lose... instead, blame the mechanical expert who repeatedly failed to send orders to repair the engines, as I will do.
You mean the mechanical expert who my top suspect's vote switch saved from a tie? That mechanical expert?

A scream mixed in with the dull noise of the ship's machinery quickly all brought all the survivors together around the body of Jin Sung. He had visibly been stabbed multiple times in the back.
Back in the main hold, after they had stored Jin in a pod beside his wife, the survivors assembled around Eve Saint-Claire and Andrei Kerensky, who led them to the ship's minimalistic bridge.
"The good news is that we have succeeded in repairing the ship." Eve Saint-Claire said cheerfully.
"And I am changing our course now." Andrei Kerensky added, while everyone was watching him inputting the commands. The ship rumbled slightly as its trajectory was altered.
"Since we were traveling at a fairly high velocity before the engines kicked in, we will still pass near this star. Not close enough to harm us, but we should begin to feel the heat soon." Kerensky continued, but everyone seemed too ecstatic to care much.
Engines and Navigation have been fully repaired, the ship is now safe!

Andrei turns around happy that the engines have finally being repaired
As I said before once the engines were repaired I would put myself up for vote if anyone wish to vote for me I will place a vote on myself to be podded.
Now on to serious business the repairs on the engine were slower then I expected once again. Eve did you ever determine the same during your time repairing navs? If so let us compare who was working on what to see if we could figure out who the sabotuer is.
Repair Medbays
I may not be the best a med bays but I have done a little work on them over my time so I will be at least a little help.
Eve clapped her hands happily, overjoyed that the passengers had averted death even if it had been right at the last. But her newfound friends were still dying, and now was the time for action.
"I don't think Amy is the killer", she boldly stated, "and we're just playing into their hands by acting as such."
She paused for a moment, hesistant, but then continued.
"Something feels off about the situation we're in."
Last phase, I referred to an assumption made by us that had possibly thrown the game completely off course for town; this was the assumption that the mafia were capable of killing. This game isn't all that different from Space Rogues (I believe they're in the same universe, so to speak), merely on a grander scale with more defined actions each phase, and the mafia in that game was tasked to sabotage our efforts rather than kill us. I believe that this is a possibility for ATPS also, and thus our mafioso might be unable to kill but perfectly placed to sabotage things.
Based upon this, I have come to the conclusion that there is a serial killer onboard also, slowly picking us off for whatever reason; while I concede that there's nothing really indicative that would point to a specific subject, I believe Pizza, autolycus and ArpTHIS to be innocent as well as myself, and I'm starting to believe that Blackadder might be town too. I'm struggling to find Niklas culpable of killing too, particularly as he could just shoot someone with his blaster rather than all this stabbity-stab-stab business. Renata was podded while the killing occured, so that also clears her of being the serial killer, at least.
From this systematic elimination of current suspects, Winston Hughes stands out in the list for his relative silence compared to the others. The measures I want to take may seem extreme, but now that the ship is fixed we need to start acting quickly before we're continuously picked off.
I implore you to stand by me with your vote, follow my suspicions and see where this leads; at best, we catch the serial killer or mafia, and at worst... well, there isn't one in my opinion.

I did twice firstly when I was working with Deidrich alone and secondly when I was working with Amy Glenn, Alejo de Lula, Jin Sung, Susann Becker, Diedrich White. If we assume that the sabotuer requires time to do what they have to and thus need to be in the room in order to do so then it is White who is the sabotuer.
However I suspect that is not the case most sabotage could be done quite quickly. It is just something to think about quite frankly no need to send Deidrich to the pod at this stage. Becker seems by far the better choice.
"Your evidence and theories on the matter correlate with my own suspicions", Eve smiled, "forget everything I ever said about you, because you might well have solved this singlehandedly!"
Hahaha, you're a legend, CB... good job! :D
I'm no saboteur, and if you ignore my suspicions about Amy Glenn because you think I am, then I will not grieve when she kills you.
I'd like to be more sure that you don't ignore my suspicions for other reasons. So please, Eve, apply that mind of yours to the actual case I have made, and see if you can so easily dismiss it. You still have not addressed it even in the slightest.
Would it help if I employed the ship's recorders to put all of her statements in one place for you and others to see? I think it might. Back in a little while.
I believe that Winston Hughes is the murderer going around the ship, while you suspect autolycus. You have your case, I have mine; everyone will make their minds up as to which case they wish to follow, but I firmly believe that I am correct and that WH is the better choice.
The possibility of you being a saboteur doesn't come into it, because a serial killer role is just as great a problem for mafia as it is for town.
I'm suspicious of Alejo de Lula, myself
Just a note that Alejo is the only character aside of Edward that can be guaranteed innocent by everyone; the murders were occuring before ArpTHIS replaced jillyfae, and she was completely new to mafia and wasn't really able to integrate with the game beyond the roleplaying aspect, thus sent no orders in. I doubt Alejo is the saboteur either.
Bit of a complex game for a newbie, to be honest. :3

The vote was clear, the survivors had decided that Susann Becker would be executed by Reilly Banks, yet she had little Edward as a hostage. The air was tense with anticipation, while Becker and Banks stared down at each other.
"Banksy, don't you..." Becker began.
Quicker than anyone present thought possible, the pulser found itself in Reilly Banks' hand. Yet, in the fraction of seconds it took for him to raise the weapon and aim, Susann Becker slid her knife through the boy's throat as he tried to struggle out of her grasp. Blood poured on her hand and she gave a cold, unrepentant smile at Banks before his pulser dart found her forehead and was stopped only by the bulkhead several meters behind her.
There was a shocked minute of silence, before the remaining survivors moved Edward and Susann's bodies to sleeping pods, while Christ Hart was freed of hers.
While many could not make up their mind as what course of action to follow, a few decided it would be best to simple continue the intended journey of the ship.

A scream of pain brought all the survivors together in a side room near the main hold, where they found the bodies Eve Saint-Claire and Amy Glenn. The former with deep burns on her lips and wide open mouth, which is twisted in a silent scream of agony, while the latter has burns on her hands and on her face, especially in the area of the left eye which has been burned out completely. Ghost comment: Hahahaha.....
That's what happens when you accuse the right person.
Secura, please edit your comment to remove all game content. I've allowed "ghost" posts because they are harmless, but you are breaking the intent of the rule about the dead not posting in the thread.

O.K then White you have a lot of explaining to do.
Firstly ever time that I worked with you progress was slow when I worked with the innocents Jin Sung and Amy Glenn progress occured just as I suspected. When I worked with you again as well as Jin Sung, Amy Glenn and Susann Becker. Progress was once again slow. I spoke to Eve before she died and she said that at no point did she ever notice tasks taking longer then they should. This lines up prefectly with when you were podded. When you were podded repairs continued along well when your were out and about repairs where once again slow.
Vote White
Repair Medbays
I am not sure whether to pod you or airlock you I await the others coming forward so that it can be discussed further.
Sorry for the slow night results this time, they got the better of me.
The more you post in this game, the more I scrap my initial preconceptions, good post. :P

Ghost Comment: Come on Christy Hart, let's see some girl power!
It's either you or Christy Hart, Kerensky. An attempt was made to frame me for the murders earlier; why you dismiss out of hand the idea that I might also have been framed for the sabotage baffles me, if it is not you who is doing the framing. No one but you has even claimed to witness any slow-down! This is all on your word.
There was no sabotage the first hour, when I was working.
Susann killed people she was not working with.

method: pulser
Don't play coy, Kerensky. Sleeping pods are not foolproof. You should want me dead, if you believe your own words. But you don't, do you?

I am awaiting the words of our fellow members of the crew. However it is clear that Christy is not commiting the sabotage for when she was on ice for lack of a better phrase the sabotage continued the only way that you could be innocent is if there are two people commiting sabotage which I find increcdibly unlikely. It is clear that you are the sabotuer
Also haven't your forgotten that the pulsar is out of ammo
Method Airlock
Meep, sorry for breaking the rule again.

Ghost Comment: Even in death, Edward is still cute and knows everything!
Secura, please avoid commenting on accusations as good or bad. As I said, technically, there should be no in thread posting from the dead, what posts there has been I'm tolerating, but you are pushing the limit. Please stop. Thank you.

I truly am a failed medic, I really am one of life's failures.
I tried protecting Amy Glenn last night, but I couldn't save her life. Oh, if only we'd repaired the Med Bay my chances of success would have been so much greater...
We're all going to die, aren't we? No, there is still chance of success! We must find this saboteur, or die trying. The sleeping pod is ineffective! Let's use our last resort: the airlock.
