1st of May 2005 and continuing...
My fifth year as an Orgah. Wow. I never thought I would get this far with my activity, but here it goes...
Thank you for the wonderful place called TotalWar.Org. I migrated here form the forums at the .com after I was attracted by the fancy graphics and the interesting Mead Hall that provided me the opportunity to promote my literary work. Slowly but surely I started posting more and more over here until in the summer of 2005 I was dueling with King of Atlantis over the most posts per day, particularly in the Frontroom. I contributed to the other areas, and I particularly loved the Medieval TW section. Soon I migrated to RTW and the rest is history... After 5 wonderful years, and over 8200 posts, I'm looking forward to continuing in this place. I have been bestowed with the Senior Membership, and I have to say this is probably the place I have spent the most time over the whole internet.
I want to thank a couple of people, particularly TosaInu and his bunch of moderators (Beirut, BKS, Martok, Papewaio, Ser Clegane, Lemur...), the old Frontroom Guard ( King Henry V, Kagemusha, STFS, Louis, Gawain, GoreBag, Red Harvest, Ian_of_Smeg, Uesugi, Mikaeus, Pever, Sapi, Devastatin Dave, Omanes and many others, and thank you!). For those whom I have forgotten but are still there and know it, thank you!
All in all, a fun ride. And hopefully many more to come. ~:)
But still, I do want to shed a tear for all those amazing times and threads that have been around this place, and the people who made it. Most of the people whom I have mentioned are no longer on here. I fear it will never be the same, but to those memories, I raise the cup ~
Thank you!
Congratulations on your 5 year tenure. Glad that you are sticking around. You deserve much of the prasie you have given to your comrades!

King of Org may be Tosa. But the backbone of this community is people like you

Good to see you back edyz
I've not been around quite as long, but some of the names bring back memories... I remember ian of smeg, didn't he have something to do with the anti-jamster crusade?

Exactly...The Anti Jamster Crusade, oh wow, thanks for the memories. That was one hilarious thread. Pointless, but hilarious.

Congratulations edyz. Five years is a long time in this on-to-the-next-new-thing world. I'm also glad to hear you haven't tired of the Org. I look forward to your 10th anniversary.

Thank you all.
Perhaps in light we can organise ourselves and give a heads up to those who are not with us here? An e-mail to the Old Guard? Would be nice to have some fun like the "Will the dong overtake the dollar" thread.

You "old guard" have put your own stamp on the Org. You have made your own "good old days". ~:pat:
Kage, you just celebrated your fifth year at the Org. And SFTS' is coming up soon. 2005 was a very good year. <sniffs the cork> Yes, very good indeed. Congratulations to the class of '05.

I agree, dearest Strike. Ah, time goes by.
Any way I can find out my first post and my first thread?
EDIT:
Thank you Gregoshi. I remember as well when you were the patron of the Monastery, it was a place of knowledge and learning which has served me well especially in the first year. And even now.

True enough. I'm really glad that you guys have stuck around for so long. In terms of the actual time spent on the fourms many of you have spent way more time here at the org than me. There are a couple of dinosaurs who have been here the whole time: Nelson, Nokor, Gregoshi, Tito, Idaho, etc, who have spent waaaaaaay more time here than me. But nonetheless five years is no small benchmark Edyz!

congratz  though meaning that ive been here over 5 years!!! i feel old... ah i remember the lurking days... tears come to my eyes...
the glorious victories on the fields of spam oh where have ye gone
with the wind over the mountains in to the sea with the old men
who no longer sit on the benches relaxing and enjoying the view
now new faces come by new names accompanied those days will
be forgotten relics of dust and memories oh where have ye gone

The good news : once you hit the 5 year mark we double your pay.
The bad news : 2 x 0 still = 0. :laugh4: Long live the org community. All of you characters, the new jacks & the gray beards, make it a special place.
Congrats, Edyz. You have made the org a better place.
It's also my fifth year anniversary as I seemed to have joined at approximately the same time as Edyz. Five years sure has flied as I've lived in multiple states, attended multiple different educational institutions, and learned quite a bit about life at the same time.
a completely inoffensive name

I seem to have come right when all the old people started to leave. Its been weird seeing over the past two years a slight dying of the community since fresh blood has not been sufficient to fill the gap due to ETW sucking.
Either way, congrats Ed.

Stranger, I am sorry I have omitted you. I just reminded of others, such as Fragony, AdrianII, SteppeGuard (the Monastery warlord), Wizard...
Thank you all for your messages.
Congrats and thanks for sticking around for so long, edyz
Having joined in 2006, I feel remarkably young.
how can i not be mentioned in the frontroom guard... pff im offended!
Well, well, well now. I'll make you happy: if it weren't for The Stranger and his side kick Moros, I probably would never have been so active at the .Org.
When I signed up I was pretty much a forum virgin (the .Org was the first internet forum I joined) and these fine two gentlemen did a brilliant job making me feel welcome and at home, teaching me the art of spamming of making contributions to the .Org, how to make friends on this online community thingie and most of all, how fun posting on an internet forum can be. A wonderful duo, excellent guys and extremely funny. In one word: TYOLT
