I cant seem to triggor it! Iv had 2 nearly full stack battles and sent 1 generals bodygaurd to his death and its still not happend!
Any tips to triggor the reform? thx :)
Edit: oh and yes i did it against parthia, Does the opposing army have to contain cataphracts?

LOL, you could simply made him blew his trumpet before frontal charging pahlava line, let his bodyguard stuck, and then flee with only him alive...

But i thought u have 2 let him die?
AH so u must let the bodygaurd die but not the general?
Cute Wolf

If they die... how could they got that traits... LOL

Yes of course, as CW said, who's getting the trait intrigued by cataphracts then?
I think a lot of these questions can be avoided if the EB team could expand their Seleucid reform description a bit.
Also, yes the enemy needs to have cataphracts on the field.

AFAIK it doesn't... The engine can't recognize cataprhracts; it can't tell the difference between cavalry

they must have "heavy cavalry" type (aside of their BG - which was missile cav for spahbade pahlavanig, spatahaura hadabara, and aeldry ayzamblade - the early bodyguards) - so even some kinda indo-saka heavy cav, or some hippeis mercenary is ironically enough for teh triggerz

The trait engine cannot, anyway. It's assumed that if the enemy army has a significant percentage of cavalry (10%? 20%?) there will be cataphracts present, and the general can get the trait.

That's easy. He gets the trait "Squashed by Cataphracts" instead.

Sorry to bring this topic back, but i have tried to get this reform to trigger in numerous battles vs big (not full stack) parthian armies led by a parthian general and its not bloodey working.
Can some 1 tell me EXACTLY word for word what you have to do to get this reform to trigger, i have litrualley tried everything iv spent my whole weekend so far just trying to get this god for saken reform. Id rather do it the propper way than just type some letters in the traits txt. Thank you to who helps.

It's probably hard for your Basileus to explain that to his generals~D

and then you could always pretend that finally, your basileus agreed to just bribed out some Pahlavan millitary tacticians, and got the reform by underhand means... :grin: (use the cheat :devil:)

You don't need to open any file;
When your in your campaign, click the tilde button (the one left of 1 and below ESC on your keybord), and then write in what Cute Wolf said;
give_trait "Blablabla Surnameblabla" ImpressedByCats1
give_trait "Lololol Surnamelololol" ImpressedByCats1
Of course use the names;
give_trait "Antiochus Megas" ImpressedByCats1

Note that if there are three names showed, the last two are written together, without capitalization.

Ok, hit the tilde, and type in this:
give_trait "Artaxerxes Eusebes" ImpressedByCats1
I'm not totaly sure about where the spaces should be, but i think this is correct... When i cheat i do it without thinking and it works, so i dunno:D

I introduce you to ||Lz3||'s minimod pack. Do not install the pack though, while I find it great, it is NOT SAVEGAME COMPATIBLE.
https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?105242-EB-1.2-MINI-MOD-PACK!
You scroll down to a spoiler called RS Textures, you can download that seperately (it's just one of ||Lz3||'s suggestions).
So download it and paste it over your own file(s). This IS SAVEGAME COMPATIBLE! Of course, that thread has more savegame compatible suggestions. But you were asking for the RS textures, enjoy them!
You can always leave the pack for later, if you start a new campaign in the future, it will give some nice additions to your gameplay experience.

I think he meant how to triggor them using the same technique as what i did for my seleucid reform. Is it possible?
XSamatan

No, the Roman Reforms require more things than just a trait...
Hint:
Forum search with "setting+reform+preference" should do a good work here ;)
