View Full Version : Could it be that I'm depressed
I think there's something wrong with me, the small touches leave me unmoved, I apreciate it less than I used to.I feel like I am not quite myself, everything is muted somehow. Just had date with old friend ans she always stays for the night, must have noticed despite my best efforts. I'm used to beeing cheerful, I can honestly say that having a bad mood just isn't me. Got no joy right now, music doesn't sound as good, my paintings bore me. I mentally want to make love to said girl but I don't feel like it, she just left anyway so that's ok. But what the que, This isn't like me, I like everything, I like random conversations with random people, I like small details, I know the world only as a warm bath I enjoy. So que, I'm not feeling all that good

You're getting old. Don't get high as much.

Could be mild depression. I'd say see a doctor and nip it in the bud.
Also look at exercise and set some stretch goals like running 10k or a half marathon

How long have you felt like this for?
Maybe you are just bored with life and you need to shake it up a bit.

I go through phases like that too. Some times so happy that a kick to the face couldn't darken my mood, and other times just feeling empty.

Now I am re-evaluating what age I thought you were.

No, no.. there was a deep and powerful message in that cartoon. Could you not feel it!?
I was just curious as to how TA was a Billy and Mandy fan considering I thought he was about 5-7 years older than me.
I've felt like that before too, like I'd be hanging out with a friend and for some reason I felt really hollow and bland, nothing we did seemed fun or would make me laugh, but I didn't feel bored or sad either...It's a crappy feeling. For me it always passed within a day or so, I hope it does for you too.

I think the Dutch must be smarter and more mature than Americans, one time I was reading one of Hax's posts and I thought to myself there was no way I could've written something like that when I was 18.

Nonsense, can't speak for TA though I think his first word was calculus
Dutch people are strange, though.. that's for certain.
No we are not, it's the rest of you that isn't quite right. And please don't tell me that doesn't make sense statistically

Not really a fan, came across that particular clip and I rather liked the lyrics. Of course a more apt but rather less cheery clip for Fragony would be:

LOL that awesome
Best existential-crisis background music is Peggy Lee's epic goodbye to the world though https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qe9kKf7SHco
Don't worry it's not that bad, not as if you would care anyway because you hate me

Speaking from experience. The symptoms you describe lean towards depression. I would ignore comments saying you to just just shake out from it. If i were you.I would go to a doctor. Best layman advice i can give you, is for you to concentrate on doing things you enjoy. Life should not become a performance at any point as it is not life anymore, but only a performance and there is no sense in that.
Fragony, if you're feeling so bad that you need to create a thread about it here, it is perhaps best to at least talk to somebody IRL about how you feel. If it's really serious, it's indeed probably best to see a doctor straight away.
A lack of sleep is always an option. It can make the day considerably greyer.

Exercise? It's amazing what a little exercise can achieve.
Lay off the coke Fragony. It blasts away at your dopamine receptors. Those little things that tell your brain how much pleasure you are having. Blast them too much and things stop pleasing you.
It recovers in time.

Do that every two months or so, and only a gram at most. Nah actually went to the docter and he said it was normal as I quited drinking alcohol for a few weeks. Feeling like normal again but if some of the effects of alcohol even for a moderate (but daily) drinker like me are normal than we are doing it all wrong. Even had an attack after rwo or 3 days and had to go to the hospital for stitches.

Heh, funny to hear this. My style of writing is kinda dependent on the time of day; for some reason, I usually write more coherent posts at night, and I find that when I have to speak English in front of large audiences, my vocabulary detoriates a lot. I'd have to immerse myself in an Anglophone country to be able to change that, haha.

Come to America! We got guns!

Well, I was planning on going to the US and Canada for some time now, but I haven't been able to make any plans yet; Tunisia, Israel, Jordan and Iran are still on the list for this year, so maybe next year, right?

Why visit all those backward dens of heathens when you could come to the great USA and spend your day drinking beer and shooting liberals?
(Meant to be read with a sense of humor.)

Nah, I'll be there to serve as a social-liberal crypto-Muslim practicing taqiyya in order to turn America into an Islamic Republic through stealth jihad.
