Mafia Hosting Queue 6.0 | Requests to Host Games

Please read this first!
As per discussion in this thread (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?149504-September-2015-policy-discussion-thread), these are the current number of games allowed to run at one time (though some leeway is allowed - i.e. a host may begin signups for his or her game if the currently running game is in its final phase or two:

Regular games (10 or more players at the outset of the game)


One at a time.


Mini games (3-9 players at the outset of the game)


No queue required, but mini games should conclude within 120 hours of game start


Speed Mafia (number of players will vary)


No queue required, but exercise good judgment when creating one.
Phases limited to a maximum of 30 minutes


Non-Mafia games


Consult with the moderator before setting one up, but I will usually have no objections. Not subject to the queue.


tl;dr if it's a mafia game for 10 or more people, it goes in the queue. Otherwise it doesn't.
Restriction subject to change based on current activity levels.

You cannot request a new slot of same game size in the calendar until a previous game of yours with the same game size has reached concluded status.
Liaising with other hosts if you need additional time/want to trade slots etc is permitted in this thread.

Well no, but I always design my games after signups finish and before I open the thread later that day so.... (okay thats only 90% true)

I have some things I've always wanted to test out, no idea how many players I will get either. If you're willing to go with something a bit experimental I'll throw it together ASAP and opens signups now.

Thoughts? Permissions? Recommendations on recruitment/signups?

Would love a partner to help me gather players from various forums, as I am not around. As well as someone to bounce ideas off of and help me develop the plot/game mechanics/etc.

I don't want to host 2 at once, but if there's nothing running and no one hosts, I can do two basic games. They're much easier than playing in several games.

Futurama is ready to go, and the setup is "org-ish" if that makes sense, but I have concerns about getting enough players here. Even Pirate Ship Mafia III couldn't crack 30 players, which is ideally what I would get for Futurama. I could cut it down for 25 players, but that would require the removal of some pretty cool stuff that I don't want to remove.

Worst case scenario, I could at least try to get 30 players here I guess.

We seem to have moved more to a "is anyone willing to host?" system, but if there's interest and you want to reserve space, I'm still more than happy to accommodate.

I'm thinking maybe some sort of mechanic where different players have hugvotes and kissvotes they can use with different values attached. Sort of like Reenk's settlement game with the good men.

I was planning on one day running it on the RB forums, so I'd have to adjust it for this one (12 is a good sized game there these days, I think you guys typically do better than that.) It's a refinement of one I ran last year, no such thing as vanilla anything, but all abilities are single use, and come with a tradeoff. First one went pretty well until someone broke my not so random ability assignments and the game ended poorly for scum shortly thereafter. I've fixed that hole though I believe. If someone wants to take a look I'll run it by them, assuming anyone would be interested in that type of game.

Eh, as a general rule I prefer the people in my games go in equally blind. It's unlikely you'd get any information that would give you an edge, but you never know.

So I'm committing to hosting a game either before or after Auto (Depends on when this ends, how fast it would start, and if auto is ok with me jumping the gun on him.)

Game is a close bastard setup, about which the only thing I will say is that I will lie to you. Setup has been vetted by two different people already, and I am ok with allowing one more. The setup is flexible so any number of people is fine, though I would prefer a number greater than 15. 48/24 setup with no main thread comms at night.

It'd be zany; in short, all of town is told they are the fool, and they have a fool's scry. One person is really the seer, and another the baner, perhaps with a vigilante. The baner (and vigilante, if used) still get fool scry results of their targets, but their powers kept from them still work. Slightly smaller wolf team to compensate for this misinformation, unless there is a vigilante, in which case there will be a full wolf team.

Also thinking of possibly revealing only alignment upon death. Masons are unlikely. Lovers are unlikely.
