Tried searching for the answer, but I do believe this hasn't been covered yet here.

When you zoom real close to Catholic units on the battlefield, you can hear the commander yell something in what sounds like Latin when you order them to move/attack. To me, I hear "Pol Tatum Tae" or something along those line.

Anybody know if these little battle cries are real Latin words that mean something? If so, what are they saying?

Can't sleep not knowing the answer here. Driving me crazy (kidding of course heheh http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )

I think its real stuff they are shouting. In the shogun games they shouted in japaneese.

Cool. Any idea of an English translation?
I would guess they're saying, "To the death, maggots" but that might be too harsh. http://www.totalwar.org/forum/non-cgi/emoticons/shock.gif

No you can go into the Sounds/battle/orders in the game folder and you will be able to select the three different languages... each order is named in english. This way you can learn latin or Russian or even arabic.
Constat = Agreed.

The ones you hear most often are 'Charge' and 'Open Fire'. And yes you can edit them if you have an editor... you could even create your own sounds.
