Well, let's see how this one goes. :laugh4:

BASIC RULES:

- Polandball Mafia will be a vanilla game designed for 17 people, though I'm flexible with that number if need be.

- In addition to it being a vanilla game (no roles outside of mafia), it will also be a GH-style game, which means talking after death is allowed and that there will be no role reveals upon death. Please try to keep all complaining about this confined to the first few pages. :tongue:

- Voting will be done in the usual .Org style: Vote: GH and Unvote: GH | Vote: Sasaki. Simply bolding a name is not enough. Voting Abstain is allowed, voting No Lynch is not. Removal for inactivity will be at my discretion and played by ear.

Phases will probably run around 48/24, with some slight variations depending on my RL commitments.

ABOUT THE THEME:

This game is inspired by the Polandball (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polandball) comics, seen on Reddit and elsewhere that playfully poke fun of national stereotypes in the name of humor. We will be doing the same thing here, and while I encourage players to get into the RP spirit of the game, please ensure that you do not go beyond friendly humor. Serious political discussion is to take place in the Backroom (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?19-Backroom) only. I have a strict zero-tolerance policy with this sort of stuff in the Gameroom.

As befitting the theme, all art to be featured in the game is and will be hand-drawn by myself, though I reserve the right to revert to a different medium (writing, etc) if I don't feel like battling with MS Paint for an hour-plus on a particular day. Each player is allowed to criticize my art a maximum of three times during the game. Further criticism beyond this limit will result in me abusing my moderator powers to edit your posts into something you would probably normally not say. So use your insults wisely!

The full countryball list is not yet finalized, though there's a strong chance that all the ones featured in the above picture will be in the game as well. If you request that a particular country be included in the game, please let me know! Otherwise, prepare to see a lot of Europe, as those flags are generally the simplest to draw.

Firstly, this is one game where, if I was scum, I would not be nervous in the slightest (low posting + no mechanics on which to trip up = easy mode).

Secondly, if I was nervous in this game, no way would I move my vote around like that (I really don't have a problem just dumping my vote on john and walking; I've done it many times before).

Thirdly, throwing in this small hint of seriousness at the end of what was otherwise just another joke vote is as scummy as anything I've seen so far (which is to say, not really that scummy, but better than straight null).

You'd not done anything but push Tak's lynch on the basis of an unexplained meta case. The idea of you being annoyed with me for accusing you based on an explained meta case is a bit rich, given that we actually lynched Tak on your say-so.

And, sure, my line against you is weaksauce. But what case could be made here that isn't? The point, whichever angle I might have taken, was always going to be to generate a reaction.

Your hosting looked fine to me, though I must admit I didn't follow Q2 very closely (the overlap was a killer).

Regardless, it's fair enough if you didn't want to contribute more here - or if you simply couldn't summon the energy - but don't expect to get a free pass on your activity levels after successfully pushing a lynch on the game's most active player. The issue here goes beyond simply not giving analysis - it's about helping to push the game towards a state where the scum will win more-or-less by default. If it looked like you were trying to generate greater activity from other players by your contributions, then I would not have made that connection with the Giraffe game.

Your case on visor is weak as you mentioned, but much stronger than anything else to date and you are basically confirmed innocent by being night killed which lends some extra weight to your opinions.

I was gearing up to be all anti-Kebab this game, damn the consequences, but then he ups and gets killed N1. To be honest that kinda took the wind out of my sails, not to mention feeling like I should at least try to post in character (something I have clearly abandoned here) That put extra pressure to “post right” instead of just posting what I am thinking clearly.

Bottom line I don’t really have much of a read on anyone and it will be hard to do so in this game as there are no reveals. The scum could quite literally be anyone besides you and atheotes. The only way I really see being able to have a case is to have some close votes and see who reacts to that one way or the other. Of course that will be difficult as well given the no reveal to validate the hypothesis. So basically yeah, I am slightly less poking in the dark by following the logic of a player that I feel is almost certainly cleared. I’ll pretty much be game for killing anyone but myself at this time.

To expand on my initial thoughts regarding the night… Punisher makes no sense to kill unless the scum team is totally randomizing kills or is comprised of Jarema, seon and Double A. General consensus in the thread was that the scum were Sooh and Visor with punisher thrown out as the possible third with no real counter. Punisher and Visor are pure lynch bait assuming that hypothesis is wrong. My status has been uncertain as well, so I am also not a good pick to kill since it would probably be pretty easy to put a case against me and push my lynch as well.

Today Visor is the presumed lynchee, and if the scum team is still strong they will have a lot of influence on the vote. Push hard for the easy lynch and win the game. Quick votes on Visor with no further discussion – especially after the strange kill – reeks to me. Something has fundamentally changed here and there is no reaction to it. No pause. No cause for re-thinking. It feels procedural which is forced which is bad.

The logical kill last night would have been one of Seon, Double A or Jarema. That not happening leads me to believe that they are the scum team and of course scum won’t kill themselves.

I will also say that Seon’s last minute vote on Sooh last night struck me at the time. Not the fact that he did it – hell I asked him to. But the manner in which he cavalierly said “bye bye”. At the time it was nothing more than a weird feeling. But in context of the kill last night and the case above, it only reinforces my perspective this morning.
