Does anyone know how the combat resolution systme works in RTW? Perhaps in the strategy guide?

What do you mean by combat resolution system? When you win, I think the enemy army just disintegrate or retreats whatever they have left. I can't tell for sure about vanishing, since I've only seen a portion of the vast map. Most likely they just retreat.

When you assault a settlement you have a choice to
a) Occupy - No looting but citizens will be grumpy
b) Enslaved - Citizens will be dispersed among existing settlements but there will be looting ( and some buildings maybe destroyed).
c) Exterminate - Kill a lot of citizens. You get a lot of denari.

Only thing I wish you could do is take faction family members captive, that would go so well with the new diplomacy system.

What i mean is the exact statistical formula for combat resolution.

I believe the formula in MTW was some sort of exponential formula based on the difference between attack and defense.

I imagine this has been tweaked at least a bit, given that unit stats now vary far more than in MTW. (Highest base attack in MTW was, I believe, 6, and highest def was around 8)

High attack units such as gladiators do not quite tear through other units the way they would have in in MTW with 5-8 gaps in atk/def.
