In a huge battle 2000 men against 2000 it starts out fine but as the battle goes on it seems the dead bodies cause too much lag that's my guess anyways

Another big lag issue it seems after so many missles have been fired the game will lag, I guess some kind of memory leak or something.

Hopefully in a patch at low settings dead bodies can just show up as 2d sprites as a 3d dead bodie is not as impressing as a moving 3d unit

Maybe it's just the memory leak problem I've haerd about.

I'll get a lot of lag sometimes during sieges. And not mega-huge cities/armies either. The couple of times I remember it happening was when each army was 1,200 or so. The AI's army just wouldn't stand still and was running and wouldn't stop. This caused major lag. But it only happens occasionally.

The battles get smoother for me as the bodies pile up....

what spec is your computer?

In large battles the game gets noticably faster for me as the bodies pile up.
