But I trust it is because you are Swedish Narayanese that all the Kalmar Union units are named in Swedish? Given that the union was ruled by Denmark at least some of the units should be given Danish names. It would be fitting to do it with the heavy cavalry since that was an area where Denmark had traditionally been better. So Wepnare to Væbnere for instance.

The Husaria is available for Poles, however, in the period up to 1600, the wings were either not used or were used as ornaments for shields, also one method was to attache one wing to the saddle. So the classical looking winged hussar most likely will not appear in the game, although the unit will.
This is however open to debate, since many people love those peacockish riders, if the majority decides to have the classical winged hussars in the game, we will do it (even though it is not correct).

Well I am Swedish and I don't recognize the language Narayanese is using. Maybee it is old Swedish?
"Landryttere medt sadelrør"
Sounds pretty danish to me. :san_wink:
That is closer to Norwegian.
Danish would be: Landsryttere (haven't experienced that term of any type of Danish cavalry) med saddelrør, though I have no idea what the last is meant to infer.
But fair enough... I have noticed his comment on the other thread.

For a time a mixed swedish and danish military, I've thrown out the landryttare from the list now (but I'm still not 100% Ive had the late danish cavalry nailed down... was hard to find info, right now it's heavy lancers, light crossbowmen, light arquebusiers, a unit of sword-and-shieldmen that has rather poor research behind it (a single pic), and mercenary reiter and german knights)
sadelrör (that's a 16th/17th century swedish word, probably there was the same word in danish) means pistol.
I'm trying to use old danish for all unit names for Kalmar Union (not much different from swedeish, just some more e and ø).
wepnere is a spelling used in Kjøbenhavns Diplomatarium 8 Avg. 1491, so that's actually Danish.~;) :book:

Here is a battle between the Kalmar Union and Spain. The union also has a lot of mercenary units availible that aren't present in thhis battle. I have some problems making a new faction so I've temporarily put the nordic units under the Turks, thus the banners.
Sergeants range ahead out the army, looking for lightly armoured targets (and they soon open fire on the spanish light halberdiers).
https://img366.imageshack.us/img366/9656/ser10fm.th.jpg (https://img366.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser10fm.jpg)
Spiwdmenn, the cannonfodder of the Kalmar Union, fight best when they stand immobile in a forest.
https://img366.imageshack.us/img366/1005/ser28fr.th.jpg (https://img366.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser28fr.jpg)
The enemy general charge the spearmen but can't break through. While fightig, a group of wepnere (noble cav) have move into a flanking position, and as the spanish bodyguard turn around they get hit the wepnere's charge. A troup of burgherspiwdmæn also throw themselves into the fight.
https://img478.imageshack.us/img478/3630/ser30eh.th.jpg (https://img478.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser30eh.jpg)
Almogherytteri (militia cav) charge into the spanish arquebusiers.
https://img302.imageshack.us/img302/8317/ser44xo.th.jpg (https://img302.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser44xo.jpg)
The death of the spanish general caused weakened his troos, routing their heavy pikemen which had been sandwiched between burgherspiwdmæn and wechtere. Here they are pursued by the wechtere (regular heavy inf).
https://img302.imageshack.us/img302/9215/ser59fp.th.jpg (https://img302.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser59fp.jpg)
Burgherskiwter (shooting) and hakeskytter (the ones hiding with to little armour for their own good, they are cheap firepower but very poor in hand-to-hand and die easily in shooting matches), behind the rest of the troops.
https://img411.imageshack.us/img411/3240/ser65bv.th.jpg (https://img411.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser65bv.jpg)
I sent pikenerere to help my cavalry fight the enemy sergeants that attacked them, but my cavalry won before the pikenerere reached them. My pikenerere found some Picas Secas they could fight instead.
https://img406.imageshack.us/img406/8136/ser73jz.th.jpg (https://img406.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser73jz.jpg)]
Hakeskytter have closed on the enemy and now support the pikenerere.
https://img402.imageshack.us/img402/5580/ser82fb.th.jpg (https://img402.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ser82fb.jpg)
The enemy infantry soon routed when met by my unyielding line of spears and pikes and sufering rom withering fire from hakeskytter. My wepnere, together with the wechtere, killed off the last of the enemy cavalry.
Victory!

Might I suggest that Franc archers should wear much more blue I mean thier clothing.:2thumbsup:
Btw Gendarmes are really nice will they be as good in fight as well? It should be like it. Would they be available in 1450 as well?
Why do they have their helments opened?:juggle2:

Are you planning on doing a Safavid or Barbary faction?
Uesugi Kenshin

At this point no, though there was a significant amount of talk about doing a Safavid one we did in the end decided not to include them.

The Haiduks are good for balcan states ( Montenegro, Wallachia etc.)or a kind of mercenaries in deep southern Balcan regions, but the real, regular Haiduks should look similar to those

They are from around 1569, but your are too, I think, but the difference is that Haiduks in the form you have posted didn't appear in Polish armies at all, and in Hungarian forces they were rather very rare, if at all - they look like balcan bandits from Serbia, Wallachia or something like this...
Your units are usually good, sometimes very good, but this is a mistake which should be corrected, especially since it is for Poland and I can't ignore mistakes made in 'my' (:laugh4: ) period.

Cegorach
The only regular Haiduks that I am aware of are those from poland. As far as I know, Erdely (Transylvannia) also featured some Haiduk, but I have no pictures that directly portray them, only indirect ones, via Poland (Bathory).
So these Haiduks I guess are best suited only for the sort of irregular warfare of the Ottoman-Hungarian border. Which does put us in teh spot regarding Poland, but we'll figure something out, don't worry. Besides, we are now considering RTW edition of the Citadel as a sort of practice run for the real thing (MTW 2 edition of the Citadel, where we shall use teh raw material from MTW2 as well as our own unique units to fill the gaps).
Shark - regarding description for Haiduks
The description is in part OK, but in part not. First of all, we should shorten it a bit, by deleting some of the surplus text. Also, one gets the feeling as if Haiduks existed only in Serbia, and this is not so - they were a regional phenomenon. We should also mention one thing that Cegorach has pointed out, that Haiduks were also used in the 1570-1630 period, in Poland, as regular salaried infantry, fighting in liear fashion, only without pikes.
Kalmar union is almost completed but I am not sure we will release further faction previews.

Funny how you made all the Burgundian pikemen roll up their trousers and put their shoes under their belt to cross a river. Or haven't you read the description that goes with the Osprey art?

You are right, I readed Burgundy book a lot of time ago and forgot to check it when I made the unit, shoes will be added on the final texture.
Or maybe they put their shoes away to have more grip in fight as the ancients

Many units use 512x512 textures but I prefer use it only when is is really needed in order to not weight on frame rate and size of the mod.
