View Full Version : taking over roman shrine
i am playing julii, i already start a civil war and captured Capua, i wonder if i didnt destroy the scipii shrine will it bring unrest to its city or not since i am also romans ?
:help: :help:
Since you are in fact both of the Roman culture, there is absolutely no cultural difference. In fact it might be beneficial to keep the shrine that they have as you are unable to build that shrine yourself. For example, some shrines that are available to the scipii will improve your weapons or even give you access to special ships, and the brutii have temples that can give your troops an experience boost or provide a nice trade increase.
oh thanx for the info dude cheers ~ Long Live Romans charge!! :charge:
Bear in mind that most probably you will not be able to upgrade the shrine, so you might still wanna demolish it and put your own faction's shrine there.

urrr...not really kiowa you probably don't want to as the Julii faction temples are really terribly (IMO) compared to the other factions, all to do with happiness growth etc, whilst the mercury and mars(Bruttii) and vulcan and neptune(scipii) have much better bonuses

Check this out: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=42125
I modded the buildings file so that every Roman faction can upgrade every Roman temple (but can only start building their own). I just conquered a former Brutii city with the Julii from the Greeks; they had left the temple of Juno intact so I could upgrade it. Now I'm just waiting to take over some Mars-, Vulcan-, and Neptune-temples... ~D
Also look at this: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=36846&page=2&pp=30 (sunsmountain's post). A Pantheon of Epona is worth the wait I guess!
WOW you guys really know a lot ^ ^ thanx a lot

only scipii can build the ships that come availeble or something like that with the neptune upgraded temples you can mod the building file but then you will only get black peasants that are deceres or corvus ships

Hmmm... so you would have to mod the units-file as well if you want to have deceres with Julii/Brutii...?

that is what you have to do but it doest bother me anyway it is very stupid that all the the romans cant make the same units

In my vanilla 1.1 Brutii campaign, one of the cities on Sicily had a Neptune, and I was able to build Corvi and Deceres without any difficulty at all.
