Movies like food depends on what I crave for.

Ladyhawke... despite the music and weapon quality is essentially the best rpg like movie that is more about personal conflict then epic... milk chocolate.

Clint Eastwood movies... more gritty yet still pure entertainment... more like a hamburger. Where most hollywood movies are candy floss.

Lord of the Rings... The first one is close to the book and then they diverge more so as they go on... all you can eat fried chicken.

Kuraswawa's films ... very well done... steak medium rare with a bit of blood leaking out now and then.

I watch my films for entertainment not hardcore facts...

'the usual suspects'

in the back of my mind during the whole movie, it was bothering me that there was a british lawyer with a japnese name and an indian accent. and the ending caught me completely by suprise. the only time i was completely bamboozeled by a film.

Which Henry V do you mean? The Lawrence Olivier one or the Branaugh one? They are both really good even though the prior is much much older(1944, in color!).

I liked both - however the Branaugh one if I remember correctly is done more like a play then the Lawrence Olivier film

I can't believe nobody's mentioned Zardoz (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070948/). Or Hawk the Slayer (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0080846/). You guys are skipping right over the classics.

I much prefer the one with Branagh. The version with Olivier was cut to death. All the good stuff was cut down to single phrases. Bleah!

Was looking for Henry V on DVD last weekend but couldn't find it. Try, try again.

Zardoz? Where all the fairy people run around to happy music, smiling as they slit their throats with razor blades? :dizzy2:

Can't say I liked that movie. Weird.

Youve got to be kidding. Its friggin dubbed.

Dr Strangelove

A true classic and my favorite comedy of all time. Arsenic and Old Lace is right up there along with Some like it Hot. And yes their all black and white.

Oh no not another one ~:) . Yes its a good movie for what it is. But its still a dubbed spaghetti western . Hardly the best western of all time or even the best Clint Eastwood movie of all time. Kellys Heroes blows it away off the top of my head. Next someones going to claim that Enter the Dragon is the best movie of all time ~D

Yeah it's danish, and quite brutal (about a son making a speech about the fathers abuse of him and his sister at his fathers birthday). Fine movie, shot in the "dogme"-style, ie. shaky, grainy, murky pictures.

I get to name a picture too: "Crybaby"! A lovely musical with Johnny Depp.

Doctor Strangelove.

You mean Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb?

That's one of my favorites as well..
