I had that idea. The only problem is that we need moders. Maybe AJC could be a faction in the Bartix mod, if that ever happens.

I was thinking that we could all have our own Legions/Chapters. They will be like a persistant character in an RPG. eg. If one of units gain 1 experince point in the next battle they will have an extra experince point, but you cannot "buy" experince it must be earned.

What version of TW should we use?

Personally I think should use RTR 6.0 when it comes out next month.

yes I second using RTR , 6.0 or 5.4.1 ( if we don't want to wait ), IMO at least not vanilla.

If we use 6.0 we can use the AOR system.

eg. All legions will be Roman and then you can choose an AOR eg Greek. So then your legion will have Roman unit and Greek auxiliaries.

We could add special bouses for your Legion.

eg. Cavalry experts. All cavalry gain +1 experience.

So the version depends on whether we wish to start now or wait a while.

I think we should wait. We need to sort thing out like:

-will they be called legion or chapters ot something else.
-names of legion/chapters.
-bonuses, like I metioned above.
-A thread would need to be set up in the MP part of the Org.

And probably a load of other things.

And perhaps we should get his included in the Bartix mod, of which I know little... Maybe we can have a unit of Inquisitors...

hmm rtr 6.0 does look good, for the clan, but what bout using EB? i dont mind which...i will be rome and my legions will get a +1 attack +1 Defence

EDIT: change of plan...don't use rtr 6.0 they got rid of the briton faction, i dont like it :furious3: use the mundus magnus map, its already up and running

KOA , RTR does have an online community it's just alittle bit harder to find someone to play ( due to the data that has to be exactley the same ) though it isn't impossible and I have done it many times.

Yes do have it. It is good, but have not played it for awhile as there is no campaign.

RTW is the best choice for a new clan as it is the newest game. ~;)

I never played it, so I'll be a weak player. I'll need some of you to train me. ~D

I only need to get a new computer first. I don't think RTW will work without that. ~D

It is not becoming a clan, we are trying to add a clan to the organisation. It is another arm with which to crush the frog.

The only problem is that there are not many frog supporters.

Maybe will could make our own MP campaign. We draw a map and divide it up into provinces. Then two or more teams take turns to fight over the land using MP battles.

eg I invade Bartix, then me and another player have a battle and if I win the Order takes control of the province and we update the map/province list in a thread at the Org.

Considering that RTR is more readily available, choose that, i would have rather gone with EB but as you say, it isnt going to be out for a couple of months. :dizzy2:

Perhaps the clan could spread across many games/mods... If quite a few crusaders have a mod, then they could use the Order as a clan for that mod

No, you misunderstand, I mean other TW titles : MTW, STW, and RTW, and all the mods, and people could just say which mods, or titles they have, and if there is enough, a new branch of the clan could be made under that mod/title

a dedicated website server
and 3D Downloads file servers
all with unlimited space and unlimited bandwidth
(i often wonder who is ripping who off? we have over 6 gig on the 3D file servers and i am putting another 3 gig on it this week...)

Well I would say RTR , has cooler units than vanilla - and the slower battle speeds will makethe battles more fun.
The only down side is that not a lot - maybe even zero - clans actually play RTR.

It has had two MP balance patchs.

EDIT: I will join the clan, but not if you are using RTR. It's just not balanced well enough for MP.

We simply could have sub-clans. A sub-clan for each mod.

It's less realistic but more balanced then RTR. Which would mean that it's a better MP mod...

As for the sub-clans, i don't think we have nearly enough members yet. let's stick with one mod for now.

Actually, i think that CTW would be the best MP mod. It's very well balanced.
It was made mostly for MP and is very playable, despite the fact that it's still a beta. My vote goes to CTW :bow:

The thing that I don't like:
9. All units have 0 wait time and allows you and the AI to build as much as you can afford and the population will allow. This is what Makes SPQR unique.
10. Upkeep costs of units are lowered to allow more armies in the field at one time.
12. Spartans have unbreakable morale and will NEVER retreat off the field.
13. Head Hurlers are now an Infantry unit and no longer a missile unit, they still throw heads before attack. Heads will do no damage, but units do frighten Foot & Horse.
41. Rome is now at war from start of game with Macedon, Greece, Germany, Gaul, Carthage.
45. New Units have been added: Carthaginian Archers, Carthaginian Numidian Cavalry, Roman Slingers, Briton Fanatic, Gaul Fanatic, Briton Peltast, Briton Archers, Egyptian Elephants, Armenian Elephants, Dacian Bastarnae, Pharaoh’s Spearmen Guards, Pharoah Swordsmen Guards, Sword Hoplites
66. I added 2 Pharaoh’s guard units to the game instead of one. Spearmen and Swordsmen with new models and skins.
68. Made all three factions red on strategy map, different symbols still and the senate is Purple still. The assassins etc are all still the factions original colors. Reason for this, is it makes the human player feel more like they are a TEAM - one Rome instead of a separate faction, Since in real historical times I imagine they wore the same uniforms just different symbols etc. It looks nice and there are still 3 factions. NO unified Rome.

I suggest you do not use the preferences that comes with it, because it changes a lot of stuff.

well when I extract hte rar file to a chiv....file - and I open it - I see a Data file and an optimal preferences file.

now how do I install this , there is no setup wizard for the mod...

Ok, open the .RAR and extract it straight to C:/program files/activision/RTW or where ever you installed the game. Don't extract it to the Data file or it will create another data file inside the data file, which is of no use to anyone. Let it overwrite everything.

I recommend that you make a copy of the Data file in the RTW folder. Just copy and paste it somewhere else. If you want to go back to the original RTW cut and paste the Chiv:TW data file somewhere and then copy and paste the orginal data back the RTW folder.

Smeg is a fictional word to replace swearing in Red Dwarf.

It is gems spelt backwards and the Red Dwarf is a mining ship. Maybe that is where is comes from.

After playing many mods for medieval, the troop diversity in chivalry much less in comparision. Not their fault i know, but still takes away from the feeling i get from playing BkB's mod.

I have logged on like five times and not once was a single ctw player on.

well either RTR or CTW are good I would say, but those are the only mods I have played ~D

CTW is good, far from finished yes - but let's not forget it is just a beta.
And RTR is good , but not really made for MP, although it has much more ( diversity ) in the units.

Although, since the Legion is the armed arm of the Order, it does make sense to make the clan something like [AJC-Smeg Legions], thus, the clan becomes the practical body of the Legions, whilst it is clearly under the authority of the AJC, and the Grandmaster (or Acting Grandmaster) thereof...

I was thinking, why not make a Scottish Anti-Jamster clan. We would be a section of the AJC, helping to show Scotland's hatred of the frog thing. We could get a few members, King Malcolm is probably Scottish judging from his location bit under his avatar. Ian's a Scottish name I think, so ian_of_smeg might be Scottish. Anyway, just tell me if you want to join.

Probably not, I have not been to Liverpool for weeks.

I live in a town named after a glorious battle with many roads named after mighty commanders who where in the battle. It is about 6 miles north of Liverpool.

I have to say, as the Commander-in-cheif of the Smeg Legions, that any hostile takeover will be met with the severist punishment....most notably sitting for a whole day watching nothing but not-a-frog adverts.....
and if you arent trying to take over then the royal hoplites can be a division of the legions that guard the grandmaster..i say this because the Smeg Legions are the ONLY militaristic arm of the AJC...if you want i will add you name to the list as Leiutenant General of the Royal Hoplites
