i look in every gamestop in town the only have eras for dvd-rom.I look on amazon they say they have it for cd-rom. guess what, they send me the dvd-rom version......:furious3:
Yeah, that doesn't surprise me. Given that everyone else had Eras as being available in just DVD format, I had a feeling Amazon's listing for Eras as a CD-Rom was a typo.

is there any difference between the cd-rom and dvd-rom versions besides the cd-rom version only being able to be used in a cd-rom?
There isn't a CD-rom version; Eras is only available on DVD. ~:)
If a CD version *were* available, however, I imagine it would have to be on more than one disc. (The DVD version has everything on a single disc, if I understand it correctly.)
Edit: Whoops, guess not. ~;p

i got Eras... each game and its expansion is on one disc. 6 discs total which also includes the music soundtrack to the games, and a dvd with behind the scenes stuff on it. Alexander expansion for RTW is also on its own disc.
yeah, i guess anyone without a dvd-rom is kind of screwed.

You'll have to send it back. I thought amazon was pretty good about that.

The other way round: a dvd-rom can play cds, but a cd-rom can´t play dvds. But that´s a moot point anyways, since, as Martok says, there is no CD version of eras or RTW Gold.
And it figures that each game of Eras is on its own disc - MTW-VI are three cds alone, I don´t know about Shogun, but I bet RTW+BI make pretty good use of the space a dvd provides by themselves.

yeah, i guess if they did have a cd-rom version it would be on at least 12 discs.
