I would like to host a small mafia game. I don't have a name yet but I do have an Idea for the setting.
I will forget what I have planned unless I write it down so I'm going put my idea here where I can't accidentaly throw away or delete it. The setting will be in an army field camp during the gunpowder age. Two spies have infiltrated the camp and must be rooted out. Also, my soldiers are apparently very bad shots so the way to root out the mafia will be to vote for one person to be used as target practice each day. There will be two mafia and 10 normal townies. Day phase is the same as the other mafias. during the night phase the mafia can kill one player per night. Also during the nightphase, one player is randomly selected by me to be on guard duty. He gets to choose one person to investigate during the night he is on guard duty. The innocence or guilt of the player investigated will be revealed during my write ups before each day phase. If the investigated player is mafia there is a 50% chance the investigation will say they are innocent. This way all the townies (and the mafia too) have the chance to act as the detective. how does everyone like my idea?

I'm going to put Motep on the bottom of the queue for mini mafia's, he hasn't been online for a long while now. Omanes, you can host now if you want to.
I didn't know where to put this so I'll put it here for everyone who joined TWC's mafia.
I've noticed that many new people have joined the forum just to play Mafia and signed up, but many have forgotten about it or are just not active enough. I think we should do something about this, and not just let anyone in.
I want an active mafia game, where the people actually visit more often than once a day, if at all. We should only let in TWC regulars or at least people who have proved that they are active enough.

All right, I hate to be a spoilsport, but I have a problem with this. A serious problem.
The queue for big games is pretty long. Very long as a matter of fact. The games are also going slower than they used to. That's fine, if the host and the players are having a good time. But there's a lot of us on the queue who are patiently waiting to host their games.
I've waited five months to do Mafia VII. Did I want a shorter wait than that? Absolutely. If there was no queue I'd probably have done two or three games in that span. But the queue was there, it said I had to wait, and I obeyed it.
But now, when Mafia VII finishes I'm going to put myself on there for Mafia VIII. And I'm going to have to wait a long time to do it, probably. Fine. But the one thing I have a problem with is that Ichigo is going to host two games before me. Meaning he gets to do "St. Thomas's Hospital" and that Tale of Two Cities thing before I, and anyone who comes after me, get to host one. And I just don't think that's right.
People shouldn't have to wait to host any longer than they have to. No offense to Ichigo as I think both games will be good, but someone's name should only be on the queue once at all times. Otherwise this system is unfair and liable to be abused (see Sasaki's post).

I mean, no offense, but for whatever reason GH's games are always loads of fun and you saw how many people were looking forward to capo. Most of the last few big games didn't have that kind of draw.

And sorry Ichigo, but you will have to wait until St Thomas Hospital is over before you can be put on the queue with Two Cities.

Wouldn't it be a bit unfair towards other hosts? And how do we decide if somebody has hosted an "epic" game? The number of posts in the public thread isn't the only indicator. For example, pevers' fantasy mafia and Stig's Heineken mafia weren't high in postcount, but there was a lot of activity behind the scenes, both on mafia as on town side.
Another reflection: if we have always one 'epic' game going on next to one or two 'normal' big games, the activity in the 'normal' games will probably drop. Besides, the number of "epic" hosters is limited and they might not want to host a big mafia every month or so. Midgard or Capo certainly qualify as epic, but I think the amount of work for the host is epic as well.

Wow, in the game just completed there were 9 scum and 1 serial killer out of 17 players. The only thing that made it playable was the fact they didn't know each other's identities, leading to some mistaken kills. With the dead can't talk rule, the known expert townies were predictably killed off early on. Unless this fundamental rule is changed, I don't see myself, sapi or Simetrical lasting beyond the first 3 rounds in any future games as town, assuming 1 kill per night (in the last one, sapi and Simetrical bought it on night 1 while I followed on night 2).

Let's leave the epics in the big queue.
An epic game is generally a treat for all involved. If we have them all the time it's like pigging out on (insert your favorite food that's really bad for you here) and first it's all you want (therefore screwing over those hosters doing big, but not epic games) but eventually you get tired of it (therefore screwing over everyone else).
If we keep it as an occasional treat everyone wins.

Well Andres, I don't have the most detailed idea of the game but what I want is, like Battle Royale there will be a map, for players to get from place to place for the turn, they will have to survive the onslaught of zombies during the night, and during the day they must vote for the person who they think was the one who realesed the T-Virus which is spawning the place with zombies, so once they are able to lynch the T-Virus launcher the "survivors" will win.

Yup, I'm literally going to have to wait a year till my game starts, since each large game takes about 2 months. Omanes if you dont mind me making a suggestion I think we need to add another section to this hosting queue. We are having more and more games that are like Org.Battle royale style, so maybe make another section for those types of games. ( Yes I'm suggesting this so my game can start sooner ) :beam:

Not to burst your bubble or anything, but 48 hours turns makes for a long game, which players might drop out of.
True, although the last time I hosted, alot of folks were not on during the 24 hour period. The 48 hour period would increase player input. If things at home change once more, I will probably change the turns back to the standard day.

I am unhappy... I have missed out on a large number of games now, because of time differences.

No it'll work like normal mafia. This is like the prolouge to the game, like how did the virus start to spread. so basically its going to take place in teh lab where the T-Virus was made, and the mafia, will have to spread the virus to the others to start the airbourne infection.
So, when's the T-virus game with the map? I'm excited about that one.

A couple of days, usually I'll PM them if they haven't been around, I'm sure Andres would too.
Usually, the host always shows up within 24 hours. If not, I pm them. If I don't get any answer within 48 hours to that pm, the next in the queue can host his game :bow:
We don't want people to lose their well deserved and long waited for hosting slot because of some minor real life issues like being asleep, do we?

I'm sorry, but I feel the need to disagree twilightblade - in my opinion, RoadKill having the ability to jump the que is rather unfair upon those who have been waiting much longer than he has.
Henceforth, in my opinion, if Twilightblade and Killfr3nzy are unable to host, usual procedure should be followed. They simply hold the top space in the que, but, until they are ready, those in second place should be allowed to take control of the slot.
Of course, this choice is up to Andres, but I consider it rather unfair upon those holding the higher ranks.

I'm sorry, but I feel the need to disagree twilightblade - in my opinion, RoadKill having the ability to jump the que is rather unfair upon those who have been waiting much longer than he has.
Henceforth, in my opinion, if Twilightblade and Killfr3nzy are unable to host, usual procedure should be followed. They simply hold the top space in the que, but, until they are ready, those in second place should be allowed to take control of the slot.
Of course, this choice is up to Andres, but I consider it rather unfair upon those holding the higher ranks.

Sure. In case you didn't notice, Sasaki, who was next in the queue, after you guys, already started his small game. When that game ends, the next one behind you will be allowed to host, etc etc. Once your large game is over, you'll be able to host your small game once the at that time current small game is over.

Just an observation, Motep also has a small mafia in the list which is almost halfway. Im not sure of his game rules yet but going by history large games general take awhile. Just to avoid another Killfrenzy/TB issue, when his small game comes up is the same course of action going to be taken?

If we want to host a game that's entirely... RPG, but not mafia, must we go through the queue? I was just curious, because KF and TB's "The Castle" gave me somewhat of an idea.
