Just an observation, Motep also has a small mafia in the list which is almost halfway. Im not sure of his game rules yet but going by history large games general take awhile. Just to avoid another Killfrenzy/TB issue, when his small game comes up is the same course of action going to be taken?

Yes, because he asked so himself:

Remove my mini game, and postpone my small game when it comes up.

If we want to host a game that's entirely... RPG, but not mafia, must we go through the queue? I was just curious, because KF and TB's "The Castle" gave me somewhat of an idea.

If it's not mafia, it doesn't belong in the mafia queue, so you can start now if you want.

Before you start hosting, it is strongly recommended to play at least three of four games first, just to get the hang of it. You can also take a look at the different threads of finished games to get an idea of the mechanics of both "vanilla" mafia and "modified" games.

Besides, before you are allowed to host a large game, you have to succesfully host at least one small game. I thought it has already been said so in this thread, but I'm too lazy to look for it :grin:

I don't think the small game would have changed anything; it's not exactly similar to our large one.

But both you and Killfr3nzy already had alot of experience with playing mafia, so you were already used to the game mechanics.

I don't think anybody should host a mafia game without having any experience whatsoever with this type of game.

Also, I have some excellent news.

Most of you probably remember how well the recruiting for Seamus's Capo de Tutti Capi II went on. Unfortunately, due to unexpected circumstances in his "real life" (yep, the life you have outside the Org is your real life), he wasn't able to start his game.

Recently, Seamus informed me that he is finally able to host Capo de Tutti Capi II.

Seamus, as soon as you are ready, you can start recruiting again. Capo de Tutti Capi will start as soon as there are enough participants and the host is ready.

Capo de Tutti Capi II will fall into a special category of mafia games, namely that of the Huge mafia games, i.e. games that require more then 50 players.

Seamus will need all the help he can get in recruiting players, so if you know a fellow Orgah who might be interested in joining, please drop him/her a pm and make an offer he/she can't refuse ~:pimp:

If you know people outside of the Org, please ask them to create an account. I'll do the best I can to get them promoted to member as fast as possible.

If huge games go into a separate queue list then, since two other large games are going on as well, I think there'll be a bit too much and all three will take away from each other. It's probably better if everything is just included in the large games queue.

Seamus was at the edge of starting CDTC II when unfortunate circumstances prevented him to host. Now that he is back and able to host again, I thought it would be unfair to put him on the end of the queue. On the other hand, putting CDTC II above on the large queue might have been percieved as unfair by the other hosts who are waiting :shrug:

I just tried to find a solution that holds the middle and keeps everybody happy.

But I'm open for suggestions.

Maybe limiting the number of large games to one during CDTC II might be a solution? Or once a huge game is running, the upcoming large games can't start until the huge one has ended?

Well, it's not like we are having huge games every few weeks or so. It would be a wonderful achievement if we would have 1 or 2 each year. One can say that the CDTC games are unique. Not many of us are crazy enough to host such monsters ~;)

I think I'll do it like this: once a huge game starts running, only one other large game can run at the same time. Hosts of large games who don't want to compete/interfere with the huge game can ask to put their game on hold during the duration of the huge game without losing their place on the queue.

If there is no large game running during the huge game, then a host can start his large game at any give time (if he is on top of the large game queue or if the hosts above him on the queue agree to let him host first that is), e.g. when the huge game has reached mid game or is nearing the end and alot of the players are dead and thus losing interest in the huge game and waiting for a next, large game.

Hmm, well, I was going to wait for Capo to be finished, as I rather want a larger number(40 or so) for my game, and I'm not sure whether I could get that number while Capo's still going on. I suppose I could put some feelers out to see what kind of numbers I could get?

Apologies to beefy because I know that he was looking forward to it but I would like to take "Emo Mafia" off of the que.

The reason? Honestly, it's because I'm really happy right now and I really can't channel the emo and I don't want to. I'm taking that lousy part of my mind and shoving it into a deep dark corner, locking it up, and surrounding it with 300 spartans.

I haven't decided yet whether or not I am retiring from playing but continuing to host, retiring from both, or both playing and hosting. I moved my game back to give myself more time to think and because I'm busy.

When a Huge Game enters the sign up phase, there will only be one large game allowed for the duration of the Huge game.

Omanes already started recruiting for his large game. Seamus's game will start within 8 days, so we would have two large games an a huge one at the same time...

See the first post in this thread. With the upcoming CDTC, the number of large games is restricted to one, for the duration of CDTC II. Once CDTC II reaches the end/mid game phase, I might allow two large games at the same time again.
