Playing England. I conquer Dublin by moving troops across by boats. Remove bulk of army back to the mainland. Scotland then invades Ireland across the sea link with his large task force. Methinks stick a ship on the link and see what happens. Well the ship blocks his way back and that's where he sits in Ireland by the sea until I obliterate Scotland and he becomes rebel.

Had wondered about ships blocking the land-links, thanks for letting us know. Interesting tactical possibilities, like you mentioned.

Thanks for the tip! This actually makes some sense in having naval superiority in some areas.

This should go in the stickied FAQ/tip thread.

Ok here's my question:

1)Say Constantinople. Its connected to Asia Minor. Can you put a boat between Constantinople and Asia Minor to stop the turks from attacking or crusaders from crossing?

Oh and this doesn't got anything to do with title but here it goes:
2) can factions re-appear like in MTW1?

It seems that yes, you can block armies with navies. It's been signaled in another thread https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=72344

In a way, it seems logical - controling the straits means able to forbid passage. But it looks like such a pervert way to mock the poor AI... :dizzy2:

Yes, you can block the passages. I put a boat inbetween England and Ireland and the Scottish army waiting there wasn't able to cross (according to his yellow movement area).

When you are about to finish your crusade, put as many armies together as you can and join the crusade. When you finish the crusade, many units (though as it seems not all) will receive a free point of experience. Of course you can also use that to up your garrisons etc, just move then governor out of the city and gather 8 units.

Good job finding it out, I did it figure it out myself when I started my Turks campaign, I used it to block few Byz armies and enemy, neutral, and even allied agents! :beam:
