Can't Re-install MTW

Hi all, wonder if anyone else has come across this problem. I tried to re-install Gold Edition MTW/VI recently and the installer initialisation program loads but then freezes before proceeding to the next stage. After looking at the CD it has quite a few scratches but I can copy all the files to desktop. Any suggestions on overcoming this would be appreciated.

If you can still copy files from your disc to your PC, then that shouldn't be the problem.

I can only second Rythmic's suggestion, take a look at the thread he linked to.

PS: Adrian II is absolutely right, RegCleaner is the way to go for those awfull registry issues. I'm going to shamelessly repost the link here (http://www.worldstart.com/weekly-download/archives/reg-cleaner4.3.htm)
