I purchased Rome Total War Gold, do I need any patches?

Do I need to patch my game if its Gold edition, or has this release already been updated?

Hi there,
Fortunately, gold does not need any official patches. Sadly it does, however, still have some very small bugs. To fix these bugs, may I suggest that you download the unofficial patch (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=55464) by player1. It fixes most of the graphical bugs and some others ones too. Enjoy your play. Cheers.

Is there a way to find out which version my game is? The readme and game manuals don't say.

Hi again,
If you want to find out what version your R:TW is go into Options menu on the main menu when you first enter the game. In the top right hand corner there is a number. That number, which should be 1.x (where x is the version number), tells you what version you have. If it is 1.3 then you will probably want the 1.5 patch for R:TW and the 1.6 patch for BI. Cheers.
