Hi,

I've been trying to outmod the Brutii and scipii by removing them from the descr_strat and donating their regions to rebels (provincial campaign).

So far no luck.
The provincial campaing loads but as soon as I end turn it CTD.

I tried this in the past with succes but now their must be something I'm overlooking.

Does any of you more experienced modders have any idea how to do this?

it's the v1.6 (BI update)

Can a less experienced modder answer? :P

I might have some theories, but just so we won't get any confusions, you mean that you have 1.5, instead of 1.6? Because 1.5 is Rome, and 1.6 is BI where the Roman Families are NOT present.

Try adding the -show_err switch to your shortcut. (Desktop: Locate RTW shortcut, right click, properties, add to target line:

-show_err)

Did you remove them from the list of factions available (they can't anywhere in the playable, unlockable or unplayable list)?

sorry it's the 1.5.

I meant the update came from BI.

Pleas be my guest. :2thumbsup:

-show_err doesnt show anything.
It never did and I have no clue why.

yes they're completely removed.

When campaign loads turn Fog of War off and scroll around and make sure you can view all the provinces you took off Brutii & Scipii - if it CTD's when you scroll over province you may have problem with the combination of faction creator and default rebel / sub faction rebel type - don't ask me why but it seems that RTW has problem with some combinations.

(I'm just guessing on that as at end of turn map tends to scroll to view movements)

I can scroll around fine.
The provinces are rebel as they should be and without any troops in them.

The ctd happen as soon as I pres the end turn button.

Still no error report.

This is the strat file.

I only removed the brutii and scipii and moved their settlements to the rebels.

As you can see very basic changes.

What did you do to the formerly roman armies in the Brutii and Scipii provinces? The rebel faction cannot own some units that are in these armies; Triarii are one example. If you haven't done so already, you might remove all units but Hastati and Velites from these starting armies.

Was one of the first things I did ofcours.

I wonder if it’s the version of the game what makes it crash.

Because when I mod’d this some time ago it was still v1.3 or something similar.

Arakorn-eir

Yes, Pre 1.3 (with 1.0-1.2) some things were much easier, such as make all factions playable (add them to playable), as when in 1.3 and later you needed some tga's in the campaign folder too.

This might have something similar as the reason, though I cannot figure out what. :(

That's a killer. Among other things, the way initial diplomatic stance is assigned changed. You need to start from the vanilla 1.5 descr_strat.txt or use a merge tool.

I didn't start from the modefied 1.3 version updated it and try to mod it again.

It is the 1.5 vanilla I'm working from.

deleted the families, armies, agents, admirals
"cut" & "paste" the settlements to another faction (in your case it should be the rebels or another faction if you like)

you can also, instead of deleting the armies, agents, admirals, change the names from brutii, scipii faction to names of rebel faction (you can find the names in descr_names on /data folder)

make the brutii, scipii unplayable in descr_strat file and DON'T DELETE THEM for the file...and also remove the superfaction....

it should stay like this in descr_strat file:

faction romans_brutii, comfortable napoleon
denari 5000

faction romans_scipii, comfortable napoleon
denari 5000

put the -show_err in the end of the path for the shortcut game, it will show why it crashed an error

hope it helps....good luck
