View Full Version : Making roads enable faster travel?

I don't suppose there's been found any way to make the roads aid more to the characters' moves? They aid already but oh-so-very-slightly, I thought it would be a worthwhile mod to lower overall action points but make 'efficiency' of those points rise dramatically when following roads. So that if you're going into the wilderness you won't be allowed to walk very far, but following a road you could travel a long way in the same turn.

Setting the road_level to, say, 15, doesn't seem to improve the available movement points to any visible degree.

1. Why did you post this in the tutorials section?
2. I think the maximum road level is 3 (highways) and it seems to give a decent bonus.
3. In general I guess these bonuses are hardcoded.

I apologize, I thought for some reason that the "middle" forum was the questions forum.

I know the maximum is 3 or so, but I figured the rate of movement bonus was dependant on the whatever road_level was, and setting it to very high would achieve my results of making roads vastly more useful. But no success on that one, the level 15 road had the highway texture and only gave the so-so bonus that even highways give.
