View Full Version : Kingdoms: Britannia Campaign - Available Guilds
What guilds are available in the Britannia campaign? As the English, I've gotten a Templar guild which was not expected. Can you get a Mason's Guild?

As the Scottish I've gotten offered Horse Breeders' (very useful in a Scottish city:laugh4: ), Masons', Swordsmiths', Thieves', and Merchant guilds. Havent seen any Templar or Hospitaller guilds in spite of putting high chivalry governors in many settlements. And I havent tried using assassins much.
I have had the assassin's guild so I knew it was available. I used so many assassins, I got the HQ.
I would think the Mason's would have popped up. As the Irish, I could not get the Horse guild at all:embarassed: . I only got the Templar after Edward returned from the Crusades. I'm not sure if any other faction can have them.
I think only English get Templars, since they´re only major power in that campaing. And cities get somekind of boost to having it after Edward returns.
You can get pretty much every guild you got in normal M2:TW expects you can´t get Theologians guild in Britannia, don´t know guilds for other campaings. Of course you can´t have Templar or Hospitaller in other than Britannia and Crusades. (Hospitallers for Principality of Antioch)
That´s pretty much it. I usually get Merchants guild for Glasgow,Edinburgh or Perth, Swordsmiths to Inverness and Stirling (i have won lots of heroic victories against norwegians because my melee weapons pwn them, they can´t beat me at walls or in cavalry charge)
Thieves and Assassins are secondary for me since i don´t want that dreadful king, since all who get to herit the throne are grown up to be chivalrious.
If you have the DVD version of the game go to the DVD and check out the Building and Unit planning .pdf files.
There's two for each campaign.
In the brittania building file you will discover that the following guilds are available:
ALCHEMISTS’ ’
GUILD
ASSASSINS’
GUILD
MASONS’
GUILD
MERCHANTS’
GUILD
THEOLOGIANS’
GUILD
THIEVES’
GUILD
EXPLORERS’
GUILD
SWORDSMITHS’
GUILD
HORSE
BREEDERS’
GUILD
WOODSMENS
GUILD
(only the English get the last two.)
The unit planner tells you which units can be recruited in which buildings - but not all guilds give you units
I've gotten the Horse guild playing as the Irish.
It would seem unfair if the Welsh did not get the Woodsman guild though.
Have double-checked the building planner, there's an E symbol on all the horse breeder and woodsmen guilds which indicates English only.
So either the building planner is wrong or possibly the level of English culture in the settlement was high enough to allow you to build English guilds?

I think that "guild points" carry over when you take a settlement. I got the horse breeder's guild offer in a newly conquered town on Ireland.
And at least for Scottish it´s possible to get Horse Breeders guild for cities, how ever it´s useless unless level 2 breeders guild.
And even if Templars are order, it still considers as some sort of a guild because you can´t have guild after getting Templars.
EDIT: And yes Welsh should get Woodsmens guild, or capture settlement with level 2 one would be real nice.

Templar guild like in the regular game. Yes I know in RL the Templars were an Order, but irregardless, I was able to build Templar Knights at that city. And I could not get another guild for that city afterward, so what you are talking about is just sematics.
