could someone help me make a proper family tree for the ruling dynasty of france around 1080.

Weren't the Angevins (Name deriving from the province of Anjou), the English/Plantaganet monarchs of England beginning with Henry II until the split into the Houses of Lancaster and York???
I know the Capetians lasted until the house of Valois took over near the end of the Hundred Years War.

That's the family that got into that long big war with a bunch of Englishmen.

The House of Valois' elder line would actually end its reign at the very end of the 1400's, but the branches Valois-Orléans and Valois-Angoulême would followed, and they're generally considered the same dynasty as such. By the late 1500's though, the Religious Wars that tore France apart was also causing dynastic confusions on a large scale -- apparently a lot of the most powerful French noblemen were quite hardcore inbreds since they all have a claim to the French throne one way or another, and many fought desperately for it. I suppose the fact that the French Kings sometimes made their close relatives dukes of powerful duchies didn't help.

Henri de Navarre would emerge from that chaos as the first Bourbon monarch, the celebrated Henry IV.

The members of the House of Bourbon are thus very much related to the Medieval Capets...quite an impressive line of dynasties if you ask me, if only for the inbred factor.

If we are counting only major branch of dynasty - Capets ruled up to the middle of XIV century. But if we are collecting all branches of dynasty - they ruled to about 1830.

Check here (http://www.friesian.com/histindx.htm) mate. There's lots of stuff; dynasties, ruler lists, dates, names, maps... The only downside -that is IMO- is that they tend to use Anglicised names with almost everybody.
