ok, i got my mod to run through a mod folder, and through BI exe. my question is, how can i add schiltrom/shield wall. the game recognizes the formations, and voice confirmation too, but the symbol doesnt exist(just tan circle) and the animation doesnt work(just pop into formation, no movement)

On the line where it has formations in export_descr_unit.txt, right after it says "square", put a comma and the name of your formation.
For example, this is my modified hoplite:

I took out the phalanx formation and added the shield_wall formation. This is a modified hoplite, so don't copy paste it :sweatdrop:
The button will remian blank and tan, but it is still there...if you want the symbol you need to copy in a few files but it's a little more work and the more work you do the higher the chance you screw up; I wouldn't advise it but go ahead if you want :yes:
IMO if you are looking for original, traditional phalanxs, download SigniferOne's animation pack and follow the instructions...they work great! They can charge and fight overhand just like a (again IMO) real phalanx.

Are you testing if the formation works before the battle starts or during? If you test it in the deployment phase it will just "jump" with no animation as you say.

Actually to make the symbol show up, you just have to copy bi/data/ui/roman/interface/battlepage03.tga to data/ui/roman/interface/. If the directory doesn't exist, make it yourself.:smiley2:
