Here are the opening scenes of 'Les Visiteurs'. It is in French, there must be a version with English subtitles, but I can't find it on YouTube. Les Visiteurs is a French comedy from 1993, a huge box office hit.

I am posting it here, because that king you see, is Louis VI the Fat (http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=9HrS3OAU4_k) ('le gros'). Well not me personally, but my namesake. He's the guy with the big moustache and grey beard, 00:55 and beyond.

Set in 1123, Louis is doing what a French noble is supposed to be doing: pissing off an 'anglois abominatis' by, erm, 'doing' his female relatives. The eventual plot is about a few medieval characters being transported to the twentieth century, with all the confusion that creates. It is a fun movie, if you ever come across it at your video rental store, check it out. Very much low-brow humour, but funny.

Didn't think I'd ever see that. Must be rather hard to realize that you just cut off your thumb because you were distracted. A good reason to be extra careful all the time. And I know a guy who did pretty much the same IIRC, he has just one thumb left, so bringing it to the hospital might not help a lot.

Lost one of my fingers (well half of it) when I was moving a fridge, friend dropped it and my finger was cut off, doesn't hurt that bad really, or at all. What does hurt however, is when they put it back. The needle goes straight into the wound, and I am no talent, but even I have sung a better tune.

What pleases me most about this concoction is the silliness, the music (which, regardless of ideological nature where due, is undeniably well written), and such. How does it prove that The Simpons are better than Family Guy? In fact, how does it prove what the makers of the clip seem to claim (that Family Guy stole from The Simpsons)? Similarities do not imply theft. Example: I remember I composed a piece of music which had certain elements in it that were used in other music written before me; I did not steal the ideas (but merely (re)invented them).

Anyway, it was a nice clip. I still enjoy Simpsons once in a while :)
