They run into the next post, like so (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showpost.php?p=1832396&postcount=1453). From this post, click into the main thread. I'm using the dial up skin, but the effect occurs on default, RTW and probably other skins too.

Does it broke the rules?

I'm very sorry If I didnt notice,

This has been happening for a while. I think it usually occurs when there is a image embedded in the sig.

Edit-> Caius, get out of my post! ~D

I believe there was an issue a while back with the smile area to the right of posts being misaligned on Mozilla browsers. I'm not too sure, but this may be related if IE/Opera users aren't having the same problems in pages.

If in need of a temporary solution, you can disable signature in your UserCP (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/profile.php?do=editoptions) at the top of the "Thread Display Options" section. I've had them disabled for quite some time - I find that moving through threads without them is much easier due to a lower level of visual distractions.

Here's a screenie:

Taken using Firefox 2.0.0.12. It looks like the sigs exceed the posting "box" depending on how images are placed and rendered.

This rarely happens to me (IE7) and if it does, everything is bunched up into the part where the edit line goes.

So with that I'm tempted to say the problem occurs with quotes as well.

Here is a screenie with no quotes in the sig, just an image:

It occurs with mine as well when I edit a post. My sig overlaps the edit line. I will demonstrate by editing this post.

I have tried to fix this by moving text to the side of the main picture, but I cannot find any way to do this with the forum code.

That is odd. I don't have a problem with it at all, using IE7 on XP.

Hello,

It depends on the browser and resolution/size of browser window used. It will be looked at.

I use IE 6, never encountered such a problem.

That's the problem with browser Andres, you had that years ago and there still are issues.

The smileybox in the full reply for example, stretches beyond the outer border in Opera, but it will fix after F5. I've never seen that when using IE.

Dividing spaces look good in IE, but different in Opera. There's code in the templates to provide different instructions to different browsers in order to get an identical effect, but this doesn't always work, nor is it always there.

If this info helps, I use Firefox 2.0.0.12 and am running in 1680 x 1050.

Doesn't do that here.
I use 1280*1024 and have the panels open, but the smileybox seems fine.

Forgot to add resolution. My screenies are from Firefox 2.0.0.12 at 1600x1200.

I get roughly the same image, using Opera. It seems to be Firefox users or users using larger than average font that this is happening to.

I get this problem in Firefox running under Linux but not in windows. It's down to the font size (Linux uses different fonts). drone in particular has scaled up the fonts in his Firefox under windows, which causes the same problem. The default size is ok.

Edit-> this is a screenie of the same post, but with the fonts shrunk 2 sizes down. macsen rufus's signature still goes out of the box.

Woah how big is that font?

Not that big, when viewed at 1600x1200 on a 19" CRT. It's a bigger font than what I use in code windows, but those are straight white text, black background. I spend way too much time on the Org, I don't want to strain my eyes. ~D

Good point *increasing font size*

For some reason, it happened to me yesterday-- my sig getting mashed up with the "Edited by" line. I'm using IE7, and that was the first time it happened to me. I thought IE7 was immune from this?

Okay, now I'm problems with this as well (since I began using Mozilla Firefox).

So changing the font size should work? If so, how do I change it?

"ctrl +" and "ctrl -" increase/decrease the font size in Firefox. It won't fix the problem, but it will help.

Honestly, if you want to annihilate the problem (yes, annihilate - extreme measure), there will have to be heavy rules on sig sizes. They're total size, not just images, including text and quotes. But many wouldn't really enjoy giving up up to half of their signature. Unlike me, who has grown used to using simple text with a max of three lines. Only recently has it been since I've expanded my sig with extra lines and small images. Still can't get used to anything bigger, even when I try to add something large, it just doesn't sit right with me. :wink2:

There are rules on sigs Raz: https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/faq.php?faq=new_faq_item#faq_faq_sigpic

The problem should be solved.
