Hey forum :beam:

I've been playing MTW2 again lately and I stumbled upon this community in the search of fighting off high levels of squalor. In this search I discovered this could be solved by modding the population growths of your city. I found that SloMod did this nicely but cannot find it ANYWHERE.

I also stumbled upon this (https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=74099) thread which gives some tips on how to do this but is very vague (for me at least). I have unpacked my data files and managed to open descr_settlement_mechanics.xls. Inside are different factors with min, max and modifier values.

For example:

<factor name="SPF_SQUALOUR">
<pip_modifier value="0.8"/>
<pip_min value="0"/>
<pip_max value="32"/>

What exactly do these values mean? I've seen squalor as high as 80%, is that represented by the .8?

Would someone mind helping me out with this issue?

No ideas?

I've tried modding the values and it doesn't seem to help my 80% squalor in game, I even modded the max populations for each type of town, castle, etc

You want to mod this one:

<factor name="SOF_SQUALOUR">
<pip_modifier value="0.25"/>
<castle_modifier value="0.25"/>
<pip_min value="0"/>
<pip_max value="16"/>
</factor>

SPF determines how many a factor modifies population
SOF determines how many a factor modifies public order
SIF determines how many a factor modifies income
