MAJOR Techincal problem

I just got E:TW today, and am unable to play due to an enormous technical problem. i am unable to use the arrow keys, /, *, +, -, and probably most others. Whenever i go to remap the controls, it says Forward-Up arrow key, but I cannot use it. Then i click on it and press the up arrow key, and it then says that it is ctrl+up arrow key. i then press accept. whether it was remapped in the menu or during a battle, it will only let me move using the mouse. and it wont let me go down using the / key or up using the * key. I need help ASAP!

Do the keys work outside ETW?

yes. in fact just half an hour before installing E:TW i was playing LotR: BfME 2

has anyon had this problem?!?!!?? i need help now!

You have used w,a,s and d right?

Why do you need to use the keyboard? It's perfectly possible to play Empire without it, I don't think I've pressed a button in-game in the whole time I've played it.

I always used keyboard. You use w/a/s/d etc, well, what I use anyway, from E:TW to Mass Effect and other games.

i detest game that require wasd instead of the arrow keys. and john hgnthon, i tried, i just cannot do it. anyway, i unplugged the keyboard, plugged it back in, and restarted the computer, and now the keys are working right.

but now after every other battle i get a ctd. note i am also playing on the lowest settings, except i have unit size to ultra and i think unit detail is on medium or low.

CTD are, unfortunatly, a fact of life for Empire.

Hope for the best with the big patch that will drop in the next few weeks, I believe.

And be happy! Some people around here cant even play past turn 1 before they CTD.
