So I've been hearing that how many florins you have directly impacts the loyalty of provinces. Is there a cap here or does the loyalty bonus keep going up no matter how many florins you have in the bank? Also, is there any way to calculate how much of a loyalty bonus you're getting from x amount of florins?
Well that one is quite easy to test, and don't require a full mythbuster writeup. Sounds promising, but I havn't noticed it before.
So I started a campaign, spent all the money and went in the red, moved all my troops out of all my provinces and noted loyalty. Then I cheated to receive a million florins and noted province loyalty. Then I waited a turn to see if the treasury should be full at the beginning of the turn.
Result: Treasury has NO impact whatsoever on province loyalty.

I think the only affect of a large treasury is the corrupting influence on the governors. Once the treasury goes over 50K, a lot of vices start appearing on their scrolls. These vices can then affect loyalty.

All I know is that is seems to be some connection between maintaing a good economy, making some "profit"/surplus in florins for the royal coffers, and influence which probably have an impact on loyalty as a result. As soon as the the yearly budget goes "negative" your influence are likely to drop as well. That info might be intresteing here....

That's a good point, but it would be a lot more realistic if it affected your direct happiness/popularity.

The only thing I've noticed with an increasingly-abundant treasury is that all of my governors become corrupt gamblers.... or completely insane.
I dont't think that the amount of florins you have affect the loyalty of your governor.
If I am correct, your governors get bad V&V (gambler, poor farmer, Brigands and thiefs), once you have conquered many provinces (I would say 40 but not sure at all).
Having more than 50K does not change a thing IIRC. It does have a impact in RTW but not in MTW.
It does seem that a negative income affets loyalty somehow. Whenever your economy is in the red for too many years, suddenly rebellions seem to sprout up like weeds!
I wouldn't say it happens "suddenly". What's happening is that, for all intents & purposes, you're simply seeing the effects of armies rebelling after so many years without pay. ~DQuote:

To my knowledge all that affects loyalty in a province are
spy activity (yours or theirs)
religious activity
management (corruption, good traits, bad traits, etc.)
tax rates
buildings
how long you've had the province
I can't recall if population or overcrowding is a factor in MTW (still haven't figured out how to get it working again) it is in RTW...
So to think of it treasury size may very well affect loyalty but I think indirectly rather than directly,
seeing as how if you don't have the money you can't build and may your subjects happy..
I know this has been a problem for me in RTW as I have to continually build to please the underlings of the city or I'd continually get riots and revolts... so I had to RomeShell some money just to survive as a faction... I hate doing it but I don't see an alternative...

Good point, troops that are not paid will rebel! That's why you do have to use mercs sparingly, as their loyalty is particularly capricious,; if the cash isn't there soon, they're gone!
Ah yes, this makes much sense Martok. Why would a soldier stay if he isn't getting paid anything? lol.
Could that perhaps be a factor in the cause of those pesky civil wars?
Indeed. Most of these blokes don't fight solely because of patriotism or loyalty to their liege lord (i.e., you); earning coin is most certainly one of their primary motivations. ~;)Quote:
