can anyone tell me what's the difference between the light vs heavy swords on an infantry unit?
It's not "swords", it's "weapon type". To answer the question, nothing.
Yeah, it is merely a designation that helps AI know what to recruit. Certain factions are scripted to recruit certain units AFAIK. That "balanced caesar" or "builder stalin", etc AI personalities thing in desc_strat may influence AI recruitment.
EDIT: oh, you meant the weapons? Hmm, beats me. I do know vanilla blacksmith buildings would first upgrade the light weapons, and then heavy. In EB, there is only one level of a blacksmith.
Are you talking about the actual weapons the units carry?
No difference--designation, as aforementioned by Watchman.
What's he talkin' bout?
sorry i meant weapon type
the weight? :dizzy2:
I'd assume one possible answer to the original question would be as follows:
If you consider a Roman's gladius as a light sword (he holds it in one hand), then a Germanic warrior's two-handed long sword would be considered a heavy sword (AP too if I'm not mistaken).
yeah, i kinda figured it was just a difference between a short-sword and a long-sword.
i mean, gladius=a couple pounds, 2-hand iron swords= OMG OVER 9000!!!!
:inquisitive: His who what where ?
Anyway, IIRC there actually *is* a pattern to their distribution I threw in on a whim back when I last error-checked it. Basically "lightweight" weapons - spears, shortswords etc. - got classed as "light" (or "simple" as the actual technical term in the EDU goes) and assorted big heavy and/or choppy things - longswords, axes, big-ass öances etc. - as "heavy" ("blade" in the EDU)...
Guys, what the heck is going on? :dizzy2:
from that link i came across this link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T2E6...eature=related
i'm not sure if you missed his joke or if you were just linking for future reference.
'Do a barrel roll!' is a common internet meme like 'OVER 9000!!!!', and similarly 'All Your Base Are Belong To Us!'. its from a starfox game (don't remember which) where the guy funnily says to do a barrel roll. :beam:
I know, I just wanted to contribute to your reference of the catchphrase.

Has anyone noticed how much this forum is starting to devolve into /eb/?
I made the demotivator thread, Watchman posts random Encyclopedia Dramatica every so often, lots o memes.. etc?
Maybe we should put up an EB Lol Cats thread, make an army of Spartan Pedobears and just complete the transformation? :-p
I do it for the lulz.
Anyway, I seem to recall we had the Tavern long before that... and people still actually "talk shop" most of the time rather than asking for CP, so I don't think there's a problem.
sub forum , for a lolcatz all your sparta are belong to us? hmm
has anyone ever been annoyed by that stupid Zalgo crap? i used to frequent Forgehub, and there was this thread called the (I hope i can get this right):
ORLY/OM NOM/ IM IN UR/ LOLCAT etc. pic thread
and most of the pics were funny, until some idiots started posting that retarded zalgo crap.
