I believe it's this one .Welcome to the org and see you around :)
Re: Historicaly romans...
It's exactly that! Thanks Archippos! Well, cosmyn, you have the tools for your conquest. Now, show that you have the brain and commanding talent (or the right cheats... :) )
Re: Historicaly romans...
I'd also recommend this thread, as it provides a lot of good tips for playing the Romani in a historically-accurate fashion:

Although I have to say I'd ignore the advice on Marian unit composition - way too many primae cohortes for my tastes.
Also good is Konny's Italian Allies mod ( https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showthread.php?t=102115 ) - it allows you to represent the allies in the Camillan era more accurately, as they get their own troops which are similar to, but distinct from those of Rome. -M
Re: Historicaly romans...
I see all your questions have been answered already by other helpful members, well all I can say then is:
Welcome to the forums! I hope you have a good time here!

I thought making the triarii contingent half the size as the principes and hastati was an innovation that came with the Polybian reforms? As far as I know, in the Camillian era, the triarii contingent of a legion was the same size as the hastati and principes.

No slight on Konny, but he does romantisize about the Romans a bit; they were not very nice to the conquered population at all and if I remember correctly he claims they were.
Welcome to the forum.
Edited to add, generally this is a polite forum, EB is above Vanilla, so its players generally try to rise out of the internet mire so many wallow in- and if not, the moderators will moderate ;-)

Haaa, a real one! Sweboz neither never cheat! it's a too sweet music to hear the pain of the ennemies! maybe my warbands will meet your legions on the MP battlefield someday!
i play on H/M... some people say that vH/M is the best, but on VH, the diplomacy is... innexistant... they will still refuse as cease fire evenm if you besiege their last cities with 3 full armies while they have 3 defender... and they're women coz the males died in the last battle... so i prefer H/M (no wrong intended against women here! as the saying goes, 10 women would defeat 100 men... from the top of a wall!)
Re: Historicaly romans...
I'd wish to kick your German ass :)) ;)
Re: Historicaly romans...
OH... OH... OH...Last roman that tried to come and take the strawberries in my dense forest... well didn't cameback! I don't know why, legions have a tendency to... dissapear, when they approach my Gawjam (Village) ;)
Re: Historicaly romans...
than come to fight in a open plain....not in shade or forest ;)
Re: Historicaly romans...
Ya know, the soft ground of the forest is easier to dig agfter the battle, to burry the romans! if your legions are so mighty... don't do as the historic emperors and generals, and cross the Rein river, pas threw the forests, and when half of your back guard army will have been clubed before you could remark it, that'll mean you found me!
Re: Historicaly romans...
nNo. I wouldn't do that! I will pay other factions to kick your ass ( like aedui or .....Sarmatians or Getai)
Re: Historicaly romans...
.... Yeah, like any real roman! don't worry, aftyer destroyed their petty warbands, I'll come to find you, by a mighty migration army just like the cimbrii and Teutones did... but instead of going to Gaul, I'll come to knock on the door of your villa, in Roma!
Re: Historicaly romans...
yeah....but at my house it will be the pretorians...so think again
Re: Historicaly romans...
I already rejoice just at the tought of plunder! If you'll excuse me, I have a thirst of blood, so I'll go conquer Barbaropolis (Rome, in common language)... Cheers!
