I like to believe that when we die we go to a place similar to this one. Except everythings more expensive, the problems are worse, and all the people are :daisy:'s.
That depends on where consciousness resides, doesn‘t it?
Quantum physics and quantum theory is giving us reasons to reexamine some of our assumtions.
There is no empirical data to back the assumption that consciousness stops at death.
We have some anecdotal testimony that it may continue and even some for reincarnation.
So this is more of a poll on your beliefs and faith.

You are, of course, referring to our consciousness, yes? In that case, nothing. We simply cease to exist, with no thought.
I'd like to think that there is something after this hell, but if what awaits me is more hell, then I'd rather not think about it.
After a day or two there's a bit of a whiff in the air. A week or so after that the stench is overwhelming. And so on.

To think that 'nothing' happens when you die is infinitely selfish.
I think it's pointless to think about whether or not there's an afterlife. Que sera, sera. Nothing you can change about it anyway. The only certainty is that one day, I will die :shrug:
I don't really like the idea, but there's nothing I can do to change it.
I picked "Something" cos if I was dead there would be a wake with all the usual sorts of things that go on at an Irish wake like music, singing and dancing etc.

Seriously now....when you die the biologic support for your consciousness stops working.....so that's it....no real need to worry about what happens next....that's nothing that will concern you.
When you die you must befriend ten year old psychic boys who see dead people.
Something does happen after you die, your body decomposes. As for consciousness, not sure, doubt it really matters either way.
This assumes that our conciousness resides in our physical bodies as a matter of necessity. You could look at it another way, our concoiusness resides in our physical bodies as a means of controling said body, but it is not constrained there. To look at it another way, the brain is the ship's wheel, not the soul's vessel.
