The Labyrinth of Multiplayer Choices
Just in case it might be useful to someone,
a little study on all of the ways to play.
Multiplayer = Multiplayer Campaign & Avatar Conquest
Multiplayer Campaign = Campaign Games
Campaign Games = Join & Host (2)
Avatar Conquest = Set up Team & Match Made & Battle List
Set up Team = Battle Types & Team Members
Land | Sea | Siege | Three Electable Players | Merging with other Teams (3x3+1=10)
Match Made = Battle Types & Game Modes
Land | Sea | Siege | 1 on 1 | Auto-Team | Campaign Drop-In (3x2+1=7)
Battle List = Join & Spectate & Host
Play | Watch | Host | Classic Battles (4)
By my count there are 23 different ways to enjoy Multiplayer games in Shogun2
Edit: As far as I know Set up Team & Match Made are the only battles that count for Clan Competition Map and Leaderboards.
Is this correct?
2nd Edit: Correction, 25 different ways (see post below).

" Merging with other Teams (3x3+1=10)"
Hi Tomi
Interesting, looks like lots of variety there. What exactly does the "3x3+1=10" signify. I`m assuming at the moment the largest mp battle is 3v3

The 10 was the number of game type choices.
Actually my count is wrong and should have been 3x4 providing 12 ways to play Set up Team.
Set up Team
1. Land game with One additional player
2. Land game with Two additional players
3. Land game with Three additional players
4. Land game with One additional player and a Merged Team of Two players
5. Sea game with One additional player
6. Sea game with Two additional players
7. Sea game with Three additional players
8. Sea game with One additional player and a Merged Team of Two players
9. Siege game with One additional player
10. Siege game with Two additional players
11. Siege game with Three additional players
12. Siege game with One additional player and a Merged Team of Two players
This of course assumes the opposing Team has equal strength, and the games are 2x2, 3x3, and 4x4.
If not equal then that gives even more possibilities of game choice variation.
