Dwarf Fortress Speed Mafia!? [Cancelled]

My computer's been defragging for 8 hours! I've been bored all day! Sort of! So I'm going to host a Dwarf Fortress speed mafia! I can take as many players as they sign up because it's a speed mafia game!! Phases will be 10min/5min! Game will start either in about 40 hours, Friday evening, or Saturday morning! Whatever works best with you guys, but I have virtually no patience due to the defrag, so I'd rather start it sooner than latter! Or I'll eat you!

No knowledge of DF is necessary because that would alienate players! However it would probably make my upcoming cat jokes a lot more funny! Basic premise is that the fort's been infiltrated by goblins! Expect lots of crazy crap to happen!

By the way, my period key stopped working! Well kinda! Actually not at all! But this is speed mafia, and the excessive usage of exclimation points implies that I'm talking really fast! I'm actually typing really fast, but you can't tell, because by the time you've read this, I'll have been done writing it! It is a post after all!

I guess this current time of the day would be the best time to do it. Maybe a little earlier.

Seems to me that it would be better for everyone not on summer break for me to start the game on Friday or Saturday.

I've been concepting a large mafia game based on Dwarf Fortress, assuming it had never been done before. Nice concept! I have to pass this one, though.

Actually, I think Thermal did a DF mafia on TWC once before, but I haven't actually read the thread.

Would more people joined this if it were a mini mafia instead of speed?

More people would join if there was a set starting time and date. Speed mafia is a big chunk of time, and people are busy.

I, personally, would be interested in a mini-mafia game. I've got a rather small window of time I'm consistently available.

Yeah well the problem is, especially at that time, I won't have the resources to participate in a speed mafia game

I'm on summer break, therefore have no concept of "time."

I guess Saturday at 4pm EST would probably be best for most people. Of course, judging by the reactions over the past few days, mini mafia would be better.

So... now I'm doing mini game. I don't really have a problem with that, but everyone should still expect write-ups with the quality of a speed game :tongue:

jht snuck up on Diyes (or however you shorten his name) and stabbed him with a giant cave spider silk rope menacing with spikes of granite and adorned with hanging rings of microcline. On the item is an image of a stupid hippie elf being eaten by yet another saltwater crocodile. Diyes died instantly after the 4 months of him running around the fortress with his entrailing hanging out while doing menial tasks such as hauling stone and building giant walls. He suspiciously died in magma shortly after he was promoted to baron.

Double A, that sounds exactly like what a Mafia game based on Dwarf Fortress should. :2thumbsup:

This is a statue of Baron Urist Diyes. It is made of granite menacing with spikes of granite and adorned with cut diamonds. On the statue is an image of a dwarf and a dwarf. The dwarf is strangling the dwarf.
