Re: Marius Reforms question
Yes, any unit or building can use this as a requirement.

Re : Marius Reforms question
I have another question about the Marian reform.
Is it possible to change the date of the trigger ?
In descr_events, there's
";event a_new_man__gaius_marius
;date 154 summer"
Obviously, it is the trigger for the Marius reform. But what are the ';' for ? Are they relevant to the trigger, or can I change the date with no fear ?

You notice the semi-colon before this... it is commented out so this event does not occur... I think it is a legacy entry from before the addition of the dynamically determined Marius Reforms date...
Wonder if it would still work if you uncommented it?
Perhaps yu could make the construction of Imperial places then dependant on the Marius event itself forcing it to occur on a specific date???
Re : Marius Reforms question
Well, what I'd like to do is to have a kind of reform event for hellenistic faction in the Successors TW mod.
I haven't played RTW 1.2 so I don't really know how does the reform work now, but I think that a roman faction must build the reform building (governor's palace) in Italy so the reform happens. Is that true ?
Re: Marius Reforms question
It is triggered by the building of an Imperial Place in the Roman homelands, but can not occur before 220BC and apparantly has an additional random element because people have reported meeting the first two requirements without yet getting the Marius event..
Re: Marius Reforms question
Don't add the Numidian and Armenian legionaries to the Marius list. They are 'only' Principes in effect. But the Silver Shields are of course perfectly ok. In fact I think I will add them myself.
Re: Marius Reforms question
Still Kraxis i.m.o. it looks odd seeing Armenian and Numidian Legionaries walking around before the Romans get such Legionaries. It makes the Marius Reforms also more interesting this way.
Re: Marius Reforms question
how delete marian reform from game ??
i don't need this reform
also in patch 1.2 rebels not work with marian reforms and game have ctd.
who know how delete this reform ??????????????????????????
what i need for it ??????????
or how fix bug from patch 1.2 with rebels and marian reform ctd with rebels fraction ????
Re : Marius Reforms question
While looking through vanilla RTW files, I noticed an "italy" ressource in some provinces (guess what, in Italian provinces).
Anyway, that might be the way to allow other faction to trigger the Marius reform : adding the Italy ressource in their provinces.
Re: Re : Marius Reforms question
I noticed that too, though if you try to add it to a provincial campaign, it crashed for me...

Since most immitation legionaries were in fact created long before Marius was even born I think it is fair to let the Armenians and Numidians get them as their stats fit that. The Silvers Shield on the other hand are made into imperial style cohorts so they would have to stay on the other side.
