I'm happy with the current situation here in the US. More time off would be nice, but much more vacation would disrupt the operation of the company I work for. Too much vacation, and key people go missing at the wrong time. I also know how hard it is to get back to work after a couple of weeks off, usually I'm worthless for a couple of days after a vacation anyway.
I'm not in a union, and I'm not really for unions. Unions served a purpose in a lot of industries, but eventually the corruption and greed in the union management priced the workers out of jobs (auto industry being the main example here). Unions should protect workers from exploitation, and there are jobs here that need unions, but many of the traditional unions are probably unnecessary today. The AFL-CIO (a union of unions) is breaking apart now, so we'll see how this goes. The GOP has broken the Democrats lock on union votes, so as a whole unions don't have as much power here.
