Kid has balls, but yes i agree, that was stupid of him.
Also he only went out once, the rest of his time he spent it in a hotel, i bet it sucked for him immensely :laugh4:
Execute him for high treason and deport his family. Only thing we could do.
This is an odd one even for you, Capo...He tried to join the AP, not the insurgents!
Maybe according to Capo anybody who has gone to Iraq or eaten french food is a traitor that deserves to be executed and have his entire family deported to France where they would torch their cars and keep eating french food.
Strange expression of empathy combined with nationalism..
Stupidity stands for him for sure, but somehow I just can't describe it all that way :
Let me say "he has balls as well as her is stupid" for the second time in order to keep off any crossfire for the time being. See, it's 2nd of January and I'm still trying to keep it peaceful.. :balloon2:Quote:
..In an essay he penned before his journey, Farris expressed his desire to help the people of Iraq and said he felt guilty for living in a large house in South Florida, driving a nice car and hanging out with friends without the fear of suicide bombers..
(What?.. No, that AK-47 is for defensive purposes only.. Ok.. Ahem..) :sweatdrop:
Who cares? Let the kid see his true homeland destroyed by his present leader, before it's completely destroyed...
He's 16, I'm sure plenty smart and I'm sure he knew the risks. He took the risks and must have had his reasons...
He went because he felt bad for the Iraqis because the US were there. He's practically and insurgent!Quote:

Do you want to shoot me now??

Actually I don't think he is very smart and if he knew the risks, he doesn't seem to have taken very many precautions. Learning a little Arabic might have been a good first step. :idea2:Quote:

All true, but his intentions were good. Just because he made some poor choices in judgement doesn't mean he deserves to die...Quote:

Good for him. Unlike any of us pontificating about how good or bad Iraq is, he went to see with his own eyes. God bless this young man. For those calling him a traitor, I believe that you should see that he, by his actions, put his life on the line voluntarily to get a first hand account on whether democracy or oppression will be the future of Iraq. I for one hopes that he continues his "see with my own eyes" approach and becomes an honest journalist. He has shown great resourcefulness and would be a great asset to the media. I've read several stories that say that the majority of the news reported from Iraq have been from journalists that stay in their hotel rooms.
A believe a democratic Iraq is the key to the future of the Middle East and the very fact that this young man has shown the courage to see and the desire to help the Iraqi people should be a lesson to us all, whether if you are for the war or against. Those calling him a traitor should feel shame, he is no more a traitor or a moron than someone slapping keystrokes on a computer opining on a young man braver than most with the courage to see and report what he sees.
Thank you!:wall:
He shouldntve gone in the first place. He shouldve learned some arabic got some clothes. He went into Iraq yay hes brave but hes still a moronQuote:

SFTS's analyses are clouded by jealousy, and Alex of M's by the hope of his own adolescent dreams-- both of them are quite close in age to Farris.
..
bmollson-- As I understand it Farris' visit was not illegal, merely unadvisable.

Jealous? no I think the kids a moron going into a war zone jealous I am notQuote:
