No unfortunately it's only the custom battles you can record.I believe it's ommission in this game is due to it being an evolution of the RTW engine which does not support such a feature.
Hmmm. That's unfortunate, because that was a feature I was really looking forward to. :(
What I do find odd, is that when you look at the "temp" folder, you see a "battle.rpy" and a "campaign_battle.rpy". Does this mean they tried to implement it, but somehow failed and did not clean-up the remains of the coding?
Perhaps a patch can solve it. Or maybe modding. Or maybe it even works right now, I'm gonna try to copy the campaign replay to the replay section and see how it goes.
Actually I've tried it once but the game CTD everytime after the replay ran for a certain period of time(when some archery release its arrows). The weather was inconsistent with the game I played also. Hopefully CA'll patch this feature later on because it is such a joy to watch campaign replay.

When I first played , sure I zoomed in to watch the new animations, but now, I still do but not as frequent and I would love to watch the action. But being a general you have to babysit troops and you cant watch the fun too long without someone suffering.
Battle recorders all the way! Let us enjoy the battle
I agree too. I miss this feature. Watching your last battle from any angle u want is just so great and satisfying. I really hope they'll include it later on.Quote:

Whereas the custom battles are al lon pre-defined maps, the campaign ones are generated on-the-fly depending on where you are on the map and the coders just couldn't get it implimented in time.
I also hope this feature will appear - we're missing sooooooo much of this game by not having replays!
I saw a lot of questions about this when MTW2 was announced and whether this feature was returning and the response from CA was a definite no no.I recall them saying how suprised they were on finding out how popular that feature was in MTW but due to the game engine not supporting such a feature in RTW it was always going to be missing in MTW2 which is just an evolution of the former.Theres no way they could enable it in a patch.
I miss it as much as the next man because i would love to replay some of the huge battles i have had but it just isn't going to happen in this current incarnation.
