Oh I forgot to post here,

I'm pretty much the same as the guy above me - I registered on the ORG a while ago but forgot my user name and password credentials, so I've had to create this account,

now that TWCenter is down I've had the chance to browse this forum, - (also maybe the fact I'm not allowed on TWCenter due to a series of failed I.P bans and a moderator who has it in for me)

I've played Total War since 2002, on Medieval: Total War, then it's expansion - both which got me hooked to the series, - since then I've purchased every Total War game including expansions and I have Empire pre-ordered :)

This be Allu X again :) - recovered my old account, remembered the details now :)

Mods could you please delete my last 3 posts aswell? I think my reason is obvious.

Racist and inflammatory comments will not be tolerated under any circumstance.

I don't care if you're using in a joke.

I don't care if you're using it as a term of endearment.

If you use that kinda language you will be hit and you'll be hit hard.

Spamming will result in harsh account actions.

i love how there's a ton of TWC members here no, but once it's all back up online, we will all be gone in a heartbeat.

Recent to TWC. Contrary to others -- I have been a lurker for a bit of time. I saw how well you handled the refugees when TWC was down and thought to sign up.

I thought it might be good manners to at least wait until TWC was back up and going. I would not want you to think you are second place because you are not.

Hello everybody!

I'm a short time lurker although I've been playing the series since RTW. Right now I'm waiting impatiently on the last components for my new computer. Hopefully they'll get delivered in time for the ETW release (I can't get this computer to run the demo with playable performance).

Hey all, back on active duty.

While not a new comer around here, I also enjoy playing MMORPG's and so I take some extended leave of absence around these forums, the series and modding, from time to time.

With ETW lingering on the Horizon, I can't but feel nostalgia for my favorite place to hang out while enjoying a good campaign.

I've done some modding on other games (mostly retextures for personal use) like Fallout 3 and Oblivion, so I'm quite interested in how this game handles textures (standard dds? or a propriety format?).

This seems like a cool site so far, so I'll probably lurk on here for awhile.

I am currently a graduate student working on my Master's degree in English. Of course, this means I have less and less time to play games. I do, however, break all the busy-work with the occasional new computer game. I have been a fan of the Total War series since Rome:TW (not as long as many of you).

I have been lurking around these forums for quite some time, but finally decided to register in anticipation of receiving Empire:TW in the mail. I already have Steam (am I the only person that thinks this is a fairly good way of dealing with anti-piracy compared to SecuRom?) so I should be able to install the game, patch and go.

What's this about no console, though? Interesting. I always found it most helpful when modding my own traits back in the day. Maybe the devs will release a tool for it (a version of their own debug console?), or someone else will.

When not playing various TW games i sleep, eat, drink vodkas & beer, oh yes & work as Surveyor in Croatia, somehow i need to pay the bills, money dont pops out of nowhere, sadly :no:.

well as far i can remember on your TW: Rome disc should be the directx 9.0 folder or fail, if there is none download it from here

Retailed Rome: TW should contain the upgrade for DirectX 0.9, don't know about the downloaded version though. :sweatdrop:

I purchased RTW Gold about two weeks ago, and am hooked, both on the regular game and looking at the various mods.

I've always been interested in history, political more than military - though at this rate that could change! Hence the mods I'm particularly looking at are the ones that make the campaign element more complicated - I've started an RTR Extended Realism campaign and am in the process of installing Europa Barborum. I'd like to know which other mods enhance this side of the game.

Being a Tolkien fan I'll probably look at Fourth Age TW too. Gaming-wise I also enjoy LOTRO.

This looks like a very detailed forum and I'm sure I'll enjoy it here :)

Anyway, I was wondering how I get an avatar other than this ugly barbarian face. I only have a selection of M2TW avatars, and I wanted an RTW one. I often see people with RTW avatars and I wonder how I can get them. Anyone?

For the Gameroom, you can PM (send a private message to) Andres or Sigurd to gain access.

The Frontroom and Backroom requires you be a full member, which usually happens within a week or two. In the meantime, just relax and enjoy yourself. ~:)

I actually joined this forum back in 2003 but can't remember my email address or password from way back then so I thought it easier to start a new membership.

I've been a fan of the total war series since MTW. I can still remember the awe I felt when I first saw the Saracens coming over the hill towards Richard the Lion heart's position against the walls of a castle back in the oringinal MTW demo - my how far we have come since then!

I have been a regular viewer of these forums and really enjoy the commentary from the members, moderators and of course CA, as well as all the helpful tips etc.

Looking forward to being part of the evolving community that is Total War!

hi all...very much a newbie and a disenchanted TW applicant. Loaded the game onto this laptop and got the could not load exe file error message. I do not know if this board is the correct location to place this post. Please redirect if required.
Found that this laptop could not run TW and am here to seek, kind sirs and madames, some advice.
Thought long and hard about my gaming needs and have decided to forgo PlayStation for PC. The time has come for me to upgrade my gaming hardware. So i shall give up dark thoughts of PS3 and hope to immerse myself in the PC experience of TW.
But how do i get it to run? Just signed up for adsl2 and have a fast router/modem but what else should i ask for as to specs for a new desktop? Have read through a number of posts and some of the FAQs so given all the glitches should i opt for a quadcore full spec or is there a cheaper way of doing this? I await your sage advice. Thanks
