I don't know about any where else but here in oz, for better or worse(i think better:clown:), it is quite a strong part of our culture, and quite alot of socialisation is done at the pub. Its quite a bit easier to spill your guts about something if no one can remember it in the morning:clown:

i don't like any bitter drinks really, including beer, wine, and even coffee, as i mentioned i like rum and cola, and vodka doesn't really have a buzz, only the intoxication. If your goal is purely to get incredibly drunk then vodka is an excellent choice as it has no flavour.

Are you saying that you don't drink AP? 15 already, you'd be a late starter over here :laugh4:

Beer, usually Stella Artois (If I am drinking by the bottle) or Tooheys New (If I am drinking at a pub/club). After I've had a few of those I usually move on to vodka and coke and have as many of those as I feel like. Also I'll usually put one or two vodka and redbulls in there.

lol, I cannot help it. :P I used to be a very naughty Vuk and drink quite heavily, but I gave up drinking a long time ago. I just am not the same person when I drink, and I did too many things that I ended up regretting when I sobered up. The way I saw it I could do two things: Make sure I never sobered up so I could never regret it, or stay sober so I would stop doing things that I would later regret. :P I could not afford the first, so I chose the second. :P Seriously though, being a teetotaler isn't that hard at all once you get past the initial cravings. I have been going strong for 7 years now, and have even got to the point where I can use whiskey in my cooking without getting tempted to take a swig. :P I never could have done that three years ago. :P
Anyway, Mountain Dew is awesome. :P


EDIT: My girl really helped me though. I am not sure how far I would have gotten if it weren't for her.

You think that is amusing, but it is not. By 15, in Russia, one is allowed to pretty much drink anything at parties. I am serious. My family was over at our good friends house in Moscow and we were all at a table eating. Then the other family took out cognac. They also had a 15-year old daughter. She was given a shot, as was everyone, but me. Even vodka is sometimes given to 15 year olds. That was at the family dinner. My friend's birthday party that summer saw even more alcohol. No one was drunk of course, as that is very much taboo and heck of an embarrasment, but there was enough alcohol of all sorts, such as wine, champagne, beer, vodka, cognac, and perhaps something else I do not recall. And no adults. The party was at a local bar/restaurant, in a special room reserved for parties.

Usually accustoming children from early age is the best way, as evidenced by Italy and France, but there are arguments against as well. In any case, alcohol should never be that mysterious forbidden substance, as that only encourages children to abuse it. I myself am a teetotaler and I have never tried any sort of alcohol. Nor do I wish to try it. Just like drugs, alcohol is best never tasted.

No? Who told told you that? People in Russia have the exact same attitudes on beer. In fact, Russians do not even consume as much beer as lot of the European countries do, or the American South. However, our vodka consumption is the #1 in the world.

True, but who said you have to follow those strict societal conventions? If you like wine, drink it any time you want to. Beer is an acquired taste, as it is bitter. Wine is a bit different, as I am sure even kids will like it.

Wine is just as an acquired taste. More so for me. I can't stand wine but LOVE beer.

i like both. wine is better with women though...

You have my respect, I have a few family who are in the position you were but just wont admit it.

I have nothing against alcohol but there is a limit that shouldn't be passed and some people just can't help themselves.

No, i was actually being serious, while it is illegal, it is generally accepted that most people by that age will have had a few drinks, most parents will give their children a beer or something at a party, and it is very easy for teens to get beer because most adults don't think there is anything wrong with it and will buy it for them. Personally i think it's fine so long as the parents know.

LOL, the cheapest drink going over here is wine, most decent wines can be bought for about $15 for a 750ml bottle(at least that's what I hear as wine will make me sick so i don't drink it) but the cheapest stuff comes in what we call a goon sack, about $5 for a 4L bag of wine :laugh4:

Beer's getting more and more expensive. Can't even find a 24 pack case of miller light bottles anymore, they've changed to 18 packs. Same with everyone else. If you want something cheap, there will always be everclear.


Granted there's always keystone, still a 30 pack case there.
