I don't understand how that Takeda army disappeared in that before and after screens. Is that a bug or have they hidden somewhere for an ambush... Good job on holding your mini-empire together, I thought you were in danger of losing everything not too long ago.
With the friendly fire casualty, I think it was Hojo who lost only 9 to friendly fire, you lost 66, the opposite of what you wrote. Nice negotiation skills for the final trade agreement, hope they won't break it off soon.

I used "War of the Tiger" formation. It is a melee heavy defense formation. and I modified it slightly, took five units of spear off the front line and placed them as reserve together with my samurai at each flank. General at the back, and archers right behind the line.

Looks like you're at my favorite portion of the game. Mid-game. Some strong contenders for the shogunate are emerging and the fate of the game is really uncertain. I could easily see any one of those clans on Honshu becoming a real super power. Watch your back, Nobunaga :sweatdrop:
Thanks. I will probably destroy the Hattori next year. But I do not really know were to go from there. My only real option are the Takeda, but for some reason I am not too thrilled about fighting them. They already have the short end of the stick in northern Japan as it is, kinda feel bad I guess..
Turtling and teching wouldn't be a bad idea. You've got plenty of time left and i'm sure your people would thank you for it (what with the food shortage :wink: )

Interesting to see you using some of the pre-set battle formations. Do you find them useful and user-friendly? Hattori looks finished, may be good for a vassal... Turtling may be a good idea, your kingdom looks stretched. But with that handsome income, the future is bright for the Oda clan. Thanks for the update. :)
Turtle and Tech might be a plan...but...if you head to wipe out Hattori those other 3 provinces look attractive.

Great AAR!!! I was truly conquered by it. I loved your reports on the internal affairs of domain, the diplomacy issues and battles. Do you plan to continue with the campaign?
P.S. I also favour teching up. The Ashikaga Shoguns could be very nasty if threatened, that is from historical point of view.
P.S.2 I don't have SHogun2 (yet).
P.S. 3 Need to have a look on the other S2 AARs here. The game seems very good.
