Re: Only 25 days to go....
22 days left ......
..................... or three weeks tomorrow, if you like ~D
It's quite sad, really. A few weeks ago I bought Company of Heroes - one of the best games I've played in a long time. Since the M2TW demo was released I haven't played it - it just doesn't seem to excite me any more. not that the M2TW demo is any good - personally I think it's rubbish - but I just know that the full game is gonna be awesome. I can't wait til I see the campaign map load for the first time and examine my settlements :bounce:
I keep wanting to load CoH but there's just no castles so I can't bring myself to play it. :wall:

Re: Only 25 days to go....
guys does anyone know if i that have pre-ordered the MTW2 will get the special limited edition?
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
It can't be assured, but it is to be expected. Sega have said that all of the first prints of the game will be the Limited Edition, which includes a map, then later on they will start to print the "ordinary" edition, without a map. but don't confuse that with the Collector's Edition, which you'll have to specifically order and pay extra for.

Re: Only 25 days to go....
But ther is a collector's edition for medieval 2?where i can see it because in amazon there is only the normal one.but with the collector you take the map or not?

Re: Only 25 days to go....
Senta email to Chris Wright Product Manager of THQ Asia Pacific asking if he could clear up wether Austrlia gets the Limited Edition adn when is the release date for Austrlia. Here is his reply I got today.
Hi tiny_titan,
The limited edition will be released in Australia but only certain retailers are stocking it.
We are putting out limited quantities and it will only be available if you pre-order it. You can pre-order it now from EB Games, Games Wizards and selected independent specialist retailers.
The SRP is $99.95, the same as the normal edition.
Harvey Norman are not selling the limited edition but will have a bonus Medieval II glass stein, which we are creating specially for them and which will be limited to Australia only.
The release date for Australia has not been pushed back to December. It will be November 23rd, one week after it releases in the UK.
Best Regards,
Chris

Re: Only 25 days to go....
Hey Guys,
Just chatted to Chris myself since was with him at a trade show on tuesday and we were telling everyone that the release dates were 10th in UK and 16th in Australia...
Seems his mail to tiny_titan WAS incorrect and we are in fact still releasing in Oz on the 16th November...
Also the thing he said about Limited Edition for pre-orders is only relevant to Australia - to be safe check with your local distributors for their policy.

Pras, do you think to make a Collectors Edition for rest of the world? I live in Turkey and i want to buy a Collectors Edition.
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
how can i find how much is 99 New Zeelands dollars in euros or US dollar?i saw in the site where you can take the collector's that they can send it in the 17th of November but thats a pity because in europe the release is on the 10th...

Re: Only 25 days to go....
AU$99.95 = US$76
The AU price includes a 10% GST so if you remove that, the US price equivalent would be $68.40.
You can convert to different currencies here.

Re: Only 25 days to go....
what is the gst and why there is a extra 10% in the price?
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
okay...time to start saving!

Yes, that's exactly what it is. If it does run, good for me! :2thumbsup:
I'll still buy that new computer, though... I need SS2 for Adobe Premiere 2 anyway. Plus I wanted to check out these fabled 64bit CPUs ;)
Thanks for the heads up!

GST = Goods and Services Tax.
The GST is a 10% flat tax on practically everything you buy in Australia, except raw foodstuffs.
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
Yes but i have pre-ordered from gameplanet in australia but the delivery is in europe so i am being charged the gst or not?

AKA government sponsored theft, getting suckers to pay more, games and software tax and generally stupid tax..
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
Yeah we pay more for games in Australia than ppl do in the US (after converting currency). There's a fair bit of taxes associated with software here (in addition to the across-the-board GST), which is quite annoying.
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
Yes but good news is you get a glass stein :P
So for this preorder i am envious lol.
Man this is like the longest 20 days ever :P

I don't know, but my guess is probably not. GST type taxes usually only apply to in-country orders, not international ones, in order to encourage exports. I do know, for example, that when I order something from Britain to ship here, I don't have to pay their rotten VAT (thank goodness).
-
Re: Only 25 days to go....
As a rule of thumb, sales tax of any kind doesn't apply when you eport something, but it's not as simple as all that. Firstly, you need to find a company that has the facilities to export and deduct tax from the amount you pay and then, by law, you're supposed to declare your purchase to the inland revenue (or whoever) and pay your local sales tax (in my case, VAT) when you receive the goods.
Sucks, doesn't it. Although I do think that there's a lower limit, below which you are tax exempt on personal imports ~:)
