I'd not be super shocked if there was a wolf in the bottom two names in each of those lists.
this is a novel enough way of making opening reads that it's probably villagy
also you implied I'm not a wolf so who even are you

Re: 04/12 Generic Fantasy WW Game Thread
i've been reading back through the thread to try and view players through the proposed lens of safe or not safe
i think el barto has been talked ABOUT a lot but hasn't actually said or done anything himself that indicates safe or not safe. logic has one post and it's not actually game related i don't think?? i can't read any kind of safeness into it really to the degree that he is who i'd have picked out of players to comment on as s/no s
something i like to do in irl games is try and spot who is just making up things to sound impressive but aren't actually things that have basis. this might be one of those things

i think it's clear enough
they fit in their respective categories and don't have things going for them like the people up at the top do
that said i certainly wasn't trying to imply that logic is wolfier than monty i'd never say anything like that in a thousand years

but how do they fit in those categories? what has logic done this game that feels safe to you, or what has el barto done that feels not safe? there's a lot of players that have been participating that aren't in either list, so what about those two jumped out as being worthy of inclusion?

Unrelated thoughts:
MU could easily have sprawling carnival-like games, like Capo or Khaan experimentals or Pirate Ship or Andres bloodbaths or any number of Large Org games. 30 players, 40 players, hell, go for the gold and make it 100. The player base is there. However, the only format that draws such numbers are those mashes that I've still not played in. Those last like a week with 50 players, and even so the post count exceeds 10K regularly. That's inhuman. The typical maximum game format on MU now allows for just 21 players, the old Org threshold for large games. For an example of the stifling effect, Zork recently tried to run a multiball setup with 40 players, but could barely exceed 1/4 signups before scrapping much of the design and doing a 15-er. Some people had even dropped when he added a post cap to the setup!
In conclusion, MU would be a new paradise of transcendent excess if an appropriate set of social engineering parameters could be formulated to force a lower post count. Capo IV quite possibly remains the Tower of Babel experience of Internet Mafia.

@Logic why did you comment on the 1000 posts thing from Empoof out of what happened itt?
like even in that same post, he suspected El Barto but you decided to comment on something that had not muh to do with the game
curious if just read that post/had read all the thread but had no thoughts/didnt feel like posting thoughts/etc..?

Dude I'm going back to hosting biweekly light games (50 post maximum) and players that hyper spam sometimes join too.
Also I'm lowkey trying to start a light game competitive circuit so be on the look out.

I do not "hyper spam". It's called seeding the thread and it's elegantly cultural.

His commenting on the barto thing felt weird to me, his "oh boy here we go again" to Zack felt sorta fake.
by "trying a bit too hard" I more mean his normal mannerisms feel sorta funky and put on.
I feel kinda bad for that read tbh cause if he's town he's just doing his thing but it felt like I was watching a TV ad of GH.

I feel kinda bad for that read tbh cause if he's town he's just doing his thing but it felt like I was watching a TV ad of GH.
It felt to me like he saw a villager doing stuff and asking questions (insaner) and gave a townread on him without thinking about it much. Then was caught a bit off guard when a different villager (me) immediately disagreed and challenged him on it, and struggled to give a very compelling reason for the read.
I mean idk I famously wolfread gh early incorrectly all the time, but the way he didn't really engage with me on it and kinda just left is like... Classically how he interacts with me when he is a wolf.

If we put both our reads together we have him dead to rights.
We should hammer him before he becomes too villagery.

i'm missing context/history but it sounds like you're saying you read him really well but also really poorly, historically, and the confidence in reading him feels a little wonky given

that you read him incorrectly all the time, yet have this confidence in saying this is how he acts when he is a wolf. i'm not doing so good with the explaining thing, it just feels jarring/inconsistent in my head

when i say "early" I mean specifically early d1, but I usually will recognize he is a villager if he is one by the end of day 1
does that make sense?

At a baseline I agree with Zack that the thought to put people into safe/not safe groupings is probably villagery.
I thought you responded rather inquisitively, and it's possible he made it up but I think he didn't. I can sorta see ways that make cuth put those people into each category. I'm just trying to not put too much stock into it as a whole and see how Cuth develops.

i guess i can see the distinction. i'm used to just kind of picking someone and killing them on d1 without a ton of room for changing reads. once we lynch someone and can use our night actions then there's more to talk about

as I'm sure you will discover, my reads can be pretty fluid, hell just look at my insaner read this game for proof of that
I also prefaced it because it's something of a meme; I don't actually think I'm bad at reading GH, there was just a bad stretch of games awhile back (and I'd argue there were good reasons for the misread, and I also believe that I have learned how to read him better from those experiences anyhow). There have also been games where I read him quite well. There are some people who I just don't understand the way they behave and don't know how to read them, but GH isn't abnormally inscrutable or irrational or chaotic so I don't think of him that way.

there are some other things too but
1) I'd like to hold those cards a little closer to my chest
2) this is getting a bit ridiculous for the stage of the game we are in. it's just my current read on him and it could easily change before the day is over

Also, day 1 is clearly absolutely useless so can I get a free pass for today?

I never town read people for being novel. I think the wolves are more likely to feel like they need to impress other people by doing something cool. Moreover, Cuth doesn't actually make anything out of his method here. He just says "ah there can be wolves in both tiers, lol idk why I even posted that." It feels like busywork to me.

Re: 04/12 Generic Fantasy WW Game Thread
I am now caught up and I have surprisingly little to say. But merlin is a firm town read now, we can lock him in bois. I also didn't like ladd very much - I don't think he added anything new and unique but instead sheeped the consensus wolf read Barto when I don't think Barto was that wolfy to warrant this much suspicion from everyone. I don't think he was villagery at all since I don't recall him posting any reads really but that isn't what everybody is sussing him for. Egix's comment on ladd's LAMIST post was villagery. I also think that Newyrm is acting like a brazen villager but it's not a strong read.

I lowkey think Barto might be spewed by all those wolfy people going after him.
