Hi,
I've been playing Total War games since Shogun. I've also done a little light modding of MTW and RTW.
Hey I am Lord Hornburg i've posted on the Heaven Games forum a little, I heard people talking about this site so i signed up.
PS in warnings it has given me 1 minor and 2 major and this is my 1st post.
i'm Andrew from Romania (beautiful country, somewhere near Russia ~:) , capital is Bucharst, not to be confused with Budapest). i've played everything in the series but Mongol Invasion. maybe i'll get that one soon. i've been posting on the .com forums for a while. this forum seems much more tactics and history oriented. i'm bound to like it and maybe i can even contribute something. looking forward...
hello everyone. i've been lurking here since i've been addicted to MTW and registered just recently to get a better kick at RTW. the topics and discussions have been more than helpful. great site. great people. been asking for help here for a couple of times, support never fails. thanx everyone
I've been playing tw games since i got medieval about 6 months ago. I'm a bit of an all rounder (in rtw), and my motto is, 'stuff diplomacy, kill them all'
Howdy, y'all. I'm fairly new to RTS games and thought I'd give MTW a try. It was an excellent choice, if I do say so myself. I've been lurkin' 'round these here parts for a time and thought I'd finally register. Lotsa good info here.
Oh, yeah. Can someone tell an ol' country hick how to subscribe to a thread without having to post to it...?
Hello I am new to total war but look forward to conquering Rome this Xmas. Watch out for me as I move on to conquer the universe from Derby (Central England). Little did the Romans know that the centre of the universe was here - Sporticus
Greetings to all new members ~
I hope I can assist you on your invasion of Britain Sporticus ~:)

Hi everyone,
I am, like my name says, a girl (!), and am a student on the Classical Archaeology and Ancient History Department of Stockholm University, Sweden. Next year I will be writing a paper about hoplites on red-figure Attic vases. I am new to RTW, and have never played any of the earlier TW games. However, being an avid "Age of" series player I have the micromanagement skills required to be successful and loved by the Senate and the people of Rome itself. :)
Not to worry, Lord Hornburg. It is just an example of how your warning level is affected by minor and major warnings. If you had really been warned, there would have been a text below your avatar: "warning level: [number]".Quote:

Hi all.
I'm in Southern California and serve in the U.S. Marine Corps. Married almost five years, no kids.
I've been visiting this site since I bought Rome on its release day. I was a big fan of Medieval, too.
So far I haven't dived into the multiplayer online stuff, but I look forward to doing so soon.
Hello All,
I'm from Pennsylvania. I just got RTW for Christmas. Look forward to visit this forum frequently. ~;)
Happy New Year!

i am the tokai, 16 years old and i'm from the Netherlands.
i've been reading these forums for quite a while but i never posted until now. i'm a big fan of both medieval and rome and i play both of them a lot (at least 2 - 2,5 hours a day)
Hey, I'm from the Netherlands too, a bit older though. I joined in when I bought RTW and I have been enjoying the game very much (probably too much), especially since I am a history student. Let's not talk about historical accuracy though, it's just a lot of fun!
Welcome my dutch comrades in TW arms ~
Hi everyone! Just started playing the full game yesterday. Lurked on the boards for a while, reading about strategy, tactics, bugs, and mods, and this board has already been helpful to me. Thanks!
hi everyone,i've been hanging around this Rome forum for a while now and thought it would be good to actually post stuff.
I'm ( if you have'nt guessed by my name ) from Holland.
BTW I was surprised that there were so many Dutch (junior ) members, that's cool though
~:)
so far the board(s) have been great for my games,, ~
Hi all :)
I'm also from the Netherlands. After years of playing Civilization 3 I found a new toy: Rome - Total War. I have played Shogun and Medieval as well, but I find RTW to be more addictive.
I've been lurking here for a few months now and, as others, saw my game improve a lot by just reading all the tips. I'm now at a point that I rather ask the questions than do a search on the topics. Guess I made the jump from 'total newbie' to just 'newbie'.
Hail less-new-than-me people, he who is the newest salutes you.
(btw you guys need an "ave" smiley, it would've been soooo perfect here)
I'm a 19,66 year old university student from Finland, currently majoring in English, but seriously considering history, philosophy, ethnology/folkloristics, latin and a crapload of other stuff. I registered here because I wanted to give feedback to the Blue Lotus mod (awesome stuff, check it out) and figured I might as well post all around the place.
I got absolutely obsessed with the Total War series after buying Medieval and have since bought all three games. The TW series really got me interested in history and I've been reading loads of it lately, I recommend this, this and this site for people who don't know all that much about their history and want to learn more. I was skeptical about the second site, since the guy who maintains it is a bit of a bible-nut, but most of the stuff that doesn't concern things mentioned in the Bible and Christian/Muslim conflicts is pretty good as far as I can tell.
Errr... I suppose 'tis it. If anybody is interested in what I look like, my profile has a link to a Finnish IRC-gallery with a bunch of pictures of me. At least people who know me find them mostly amusing.
Greetings Malrubius, Dutch_guy, Aggie, and Parokkikala! ~

So, welcome to the boards! ~

Cheers, and, perhaps, "Ave!"

Hello ~:)
I've been interested in History and Warfare since Junior High ( a long time ago ). I've played board and tabletop games from Chainmail and Machiavelli to Tractics and 7th Fleet. :duel:
I also love reading fantasy and science fiction. :book:
I have six kids and I work as network tech for a non-profit company. :dizzy2:
I really love the total war series. Maybe someday I'll buy Shogun since thats the only one of the three I haven't played yet. ~
Hi Ego,
Sound like you are fairly normal for these forums... mind you 6 kids and networking IT would be hard to balance... you must have taken a few courses in time management.
Thanks Papewaio,Quote:

Hi Pat welcome to the Org
Hello all. I've played all the TotalWar games. I plan to get the expansion to Shogun. :charge:  :duel:
Hello and welcome Arkatsson ~
~:) I started playing total war games ages ago when shogun first came out, i loved this game but unfortunatly my PC at the time couldnt run it properly which forced me to stop playing it. When MTW came out my friend showed it to me and i knew i would love playing it. From then on i used to sit down for hours playing it, i completed it to the extream with every nation! now i am currently playing RTW and finding some of the new feature really good like the new campain map. But it doesnt seem to be as enjoyable as MTW. I looked on the forums for the first time yesterday and discovered there were mods out and mods being created for the bronze age. This instantly interested me.
I think what you guys are doing is great. I am looking forward to playing HTW tonight for the first time and also NTW with the new RTW graphics wehen it is completed. Thanks for makeing the TW games even better :)

Hello Sevengoals ~
Welcome to the Org
Hello. I've only started playing the Total War series since about 2 years ago, but I've always liked games that stressed battlefield tactics for as long as I can remember. I think the first such game that got me hooked into this particular style of battle was something called Waterloo (not sure of the exact title), which had Napoleonic-era warfare. The incredibly detailed battlefields, hundreds of soldiers arranged in formations, and using cannons to reduce those formations... It really inspired in me the feel of a 'real' battle. Games that have more abstract warfare such as the -Craft games by Blizzard never held my interest for long. I am always thrilled at the prospect of defeating great odds through clever use of terrain and manouvering.
Ave!
I'm Antiochus III, an Alexander who has Romans kicking my butt! ~D I've been browsing for a while and posted a few but made no proper introductions.

Hey all,
Been lurking around here for some months (basically since I got the game) and decided to register. Nice forums, good posts here. My only complaint thus far is the way too big and annoying signatures. :p
Cheers

Hi Zyphelaxis
Welcome to the Org
Hello!
My name is fret, im 29, living in Briton, working in a little known part of the IT industry, if you know what a dslam is...i'll tell you more ~:)
Like Aggie at the top of page 5 on this thread, Ive spent the past 3 years playing Civ3, however, where he spent his time playing in a highly educational and entertaining series of Succesion Games, I spent my 3 years playing in the very mechanical and some would say boring civfanatics Hall of Fame. Respect to Aggie, he is a god of Civ3 SG's.
Alas, its time for me to retire from Civ3 and move onto the new...
Im completely new to the Total War series, and cant wait to spend the next 3 years learning the game to the same depth as I learnt Civ3 :book:
Have one on me..

I am Lord Hammerschmidt, given name Alan, and live in the fair state (although snowy at the present hour) of New Jersey. I was just introduced to the series with Rome, and am very much enjoying the game.
Welcome Lord Hammerschmidt ~
Hi, I thought I would finally register here, as I have been lurking on & off for quite a while now, and sent a few people from the .com in this direction. Anyone from the .com may know me from there as Pausanias, as it's the site I tend to spend most time on. I have been impressed with your site, and hope I may be able to add a little to it.
Hail, and 'well met', Pausanias828! Welcome to the .Org ~
We're glad you've signed up.
Hi. I'm surprised to have not known how great this site is. I've played some VI. I'll be asking a lot of questions on shogun MP because I miss that game.
Hi!
I am playing TW games and reading this forums for two years now. I finally decided to register, because i am very interested in the excellent Europa Barbarorum mod project.
I´ve been interested in ancient history, especially the roman epoche and the late bronze age, since i was in elementary school.

Hi everyone, my name is Mike. I've been playing RTW ever since it was released in the UK and i've also played STW when it was released and completed it several times. I've yet to finish a campaign on RTW though! ~:)
I've just left uni and i'm looking for a job, but with RTW being so addictive, it could be a while yet! ~D
