I set up the desk by the bed so she can see what I'm doing, then I set up the laptop with the internet on on the bed, then I made sure she was pregnant* and couldn't move much and wanted to spend all her time looking at baby clothes on the internet, then I played to my heart's content. I wasn't abandoning her by hiding in another room, and eventually all the exposure to the games slowly converted her until she actually enjoyed watching, kind of like a reverse Clockwork Orange.
Now we've moved into a bigger place and the computer has a room all to itself, I can still play because I conditioned her to not mind
Good, no?
*this may not be your best solution
Yeah, you just wait until the baby comes and all of a sudden the computer becomes satan, because it detracts from the family time she'll force you to have with her and the baby.
Should have found a better solution. :skull:

Back on topic, being the happy bachelor that I am, the only things that detract from my TW schedule are things that I can do nothing about anyway.
Ah, the joys of being single! :2thumbsup: Not that having a woman in one's life definitely doesn't have its perks, but I also certainly don't miss the infringement on my free time. As it is, I already spend far less time playing games than I did a year ago. If I had a girlfriend, I suspect I would hardly get a chance to play at all. ~:rolleyes:Quote:

My girlfriend got me into the game. Without here, i probably wouldn't have ever played it. I think i am going to thank her now

Perhaps you could train him in the ways of Bartix? He shows promise. :book:Quote:

Nothing gets my woman warmed up for a night of debaucery like me deciding that, instead of sitting on the couch watching some inane, lowest common denominator, garbage that passes for tv entertainment, I announce that I will instead partake in the expansion of the Danish empire into the former Spanish lands of Navarre. After a period of time where I was scratching my head over this I surmised that telling her I was going to "ignore her" to spend time with my other woman "total war" caused irrational feelings of insecurity. If I want a roll in the hay I mearly mention the words "computer" with "Total War" and.......boom, boom, boom...off go the lights.
If I really want to play I don't mention gaming. Instead over dinner and getting the kids to bed I let go in passing the....um....horrendous jock itch irritaion:oops: or loose bowel sysndrome:book: I'm suffering from (or some such "block the privates" ailment) and only later, after all toughts of any intimacy has been scratched off her list, do I pass on that I'm going to spend a few hours mucking about on the computer.
Works so far.
I wish I had your problems man...
Sounds like some of us have really hammered our strategies out. :smash: :laugh4:
But I have to say, I don't blame you.
Some of you have it rough...I am a contractor whos specific field has him working nights. Generaly from 12am to 12pm. But on most days its only from 4:00am to 8:00am. That leaves alot of time for games on most nights. Wake up to a hot cup of coffee, some booty from my girl, talk to her for about a half hour then its off to whatever I want to do while she sleeps. Together time and family time is all day after I get home from work (usualy 9:00am) up till about 4:00pm-6:00pm. Yes it is awesome to be able to support a family only working (usualy) 4 hours a day, and having this totaly kick @ss schedule. Sometimes the problem arises between whether I want to work all night every night and make a really nice income or have the freetime and family time and generaly just make a sufficient income. hmmm
4 hours a day?
I work 11pm-7am monday through friday, tuesdays and thursdays I have class from 9am-3pm.
You could always become homosexual and date a similar minded game playing bloke.
Or perhaps not....
