So. How does one resize a pic to fit it into a signature?
one doesn't, I do :beam: I usually keep the WIP versions large so people can see the details and then provide a siggy sized one when we're happy.

Wow.. :dizzy2:
Perhaps you could add all those to your first post and add names under those shields?
Anyway, you've done amazing job!! :2thumbsup:
Could you post mine in the smaller size please.
Deguerra's last post contains all the shields in small size. :beam:
I agree it's a bit busy. How about this: first, flatten out the chevron a little bit so that it has a bit more room above the point and below the 'wings'. Then reduce the size of all the heads (make them all the same size) and fit two below and three above, with one of the ones on top over the point. Also, I'd like the reverse head not to be central or special in any manner. Just one of the heads on the side somewhere.
Yeah but it's one pisture so I can't set it as my signature.
Unless you could tell me how to.
No, Marcus is quite right, there is no way to get individual arms from that big image, it was just for show. You still need to tell me when you're satisfied with a coat of arms and then I'll post the siggy version.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
TC, im on it :2thumbsup:
TC: that works. I'm still not 100% convinced, I think it looks a bit empty in places now, but what do you think.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Sorry Deguerra I thought that was the finished design.
I have two idea I would like you to try if you would be so kind.
Could you make the saltire white cross blue background.
And please could you incorporate a Feur De Lys somewhere.
Thankyou for your work it's really top quality.
Yeah, not everyone should have a design as fancy as us Duke's. :clown:
Actually simpler coats belonged to more important nobles. A complex coat of arms denoted a knight of lesser status.
will get you your siggy tonight, TC, and work on yours Marcus.
as for simpler and complicated, I think it depends entirely. Here we have Charles V, Holy Roman Emperor:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It burns! Could you both spoiler it? :laugh4:
I think this is a nice visual representation of the decentralisation of the Empire, PBMs excepted.
Edit: The sad thing is: I've been playing EU 3 so I recognize most of the states represented.
2nd Edit: That's Cordoba isn't it wedged into the bottom?
whoops. apologies. I spoiler every signature sized one and then leave that :wall:
edit: cordoba or granada. yeah same with me. I do love my eu3
TC: its not that its simple, I like that better as well. But to me it has too many blank spaces :laugh4: No matter, so long as you like it:

marcus, hows this:

Perfect thankyou very much.
Are you a artist by any chance?
If i were to purchance a real coat of arms this would be that design.
real ones unfortunately cost uppards of £3000.
 thankyou for the praise. I am afraid I'm the furthest thing from an artist...my painting skills reached their apex when I was about 5 :laugh4:
sorry, Marcus, will post the siggy sized when I get home tonight

Sorry, thats all for tonight folks. I'm tired and off to bed :shame:
Sorry, this has taken unacceptably long NN. Problems lie with Mozilla, not Imageshack

Hey deg, can you do me favor and give me a version of Burgundy's CoA where the largest dimension is 200 pixels?
Also, is it my imagination or does Raoul of all people not have a CoA?:inquisitive:
I'll see what I can do on that burgundy arms. My coat of arms should be visible in my signature, is it not?
should be this:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Your CoA is visible in the sig, at least to me.
good to know. thanks OK :2thumbsup:
a few things:
- can I interest the new baron(s) in an update of their CoAs with the barons' crown as seen in my first post? You need to differentiate yourself from the dirty masses, n'est-ce pas?
- Braden, Henri clearly needs a coat of arms!
- Cecil, sorry, getting onto that Burgundy resizing now.
edit: think this should do it Cecil:

edit2: ok, here's one more attempt to reel knightnday into the coat of arms family :P :
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Yes deg Prince Henri does indeed now need a CoA..still getting up to full speed on this PBE but thanks for offering.
No combat under his belt as yet, no marriage and no alligence appart from direct family so simple would be best to start with.
Can I have the Count's crown added to my coat of arms?
et voila:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Braden, I'm suffering from an ideas shortage. Any symbol or somesuch you want included? Any particular background colours? All I've got so far is giving you a subshield like Ibn Khalduns (now sadly defunct) Prince's arms:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
I thought that was the baron's crown? Bertin has attained the status of count.
whoops. that should teach me to actually read next time. sorry. didn't even realize we already had counts, but makes me happy to get to use the crowns (Y):
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Looks good:2thumbsup:
deg Try with the Aquatain lions in the centre shield and the blue/golden fler-de-lys top left and bottom right.
Not too certain about four differing fields...
another option - diagonal fields of blue background / golden fler de lys left upper diagonal half and white background / goldern crowns bottom left half with the red background / goldern lions centre?
I would also not mind getting the baron crown added to my coat of arms. thanks in advance.
Hey deg, could you do me a favor? I'd like to have larger CoAs for the Libary; bigger than what's allowed in signatures. Whenever you make a new CoA, or update an old one with a better crown or some such, could could you post a big version along with one sized for sigs?
BTW, right now I'm missing a big version of Raoul's CoA and Bertin's CoA with the Count's crown.
OK:
bigger count:

Thank you.
Ok Braden:
Now I've taken in what you said, and then ignored it completely :clown:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Let me explain myself. I've left the subshield as that of the House of Capetin, simply because everyone with a subshield so far has had the subshield denote their "House", ie their parentage, and Henri is a Capetin.
Well and basically from that, the blue diagonal division didn't work anymore because it had blue in the centre and blue on the sides. So I changed it to red and white. I think it works well, but this is your arms so feel free to disagree. I'm happy to change it to anything you want.
Finally, the lion of Aquitaine only really makes sense if you join that Duchy (which I discourage of course. Burgundians are far more handsome and intelligent). If not, we should probably replace that with the appropriate Duchies' arms (incidentally, Burgundy's would look very nice there). Why Ibn had the three lions of England I don't remember.
deg I bow to your better aesthetic knowledge here to be honest. What you’ve done works and I’m happy with it!
Thanks
I'm glad you like it.
Here it is in siggy size:

Now that Gontran is a baron should we change his coat of arms?
Hey Vlad. Will get onto counting and baroning today sometime.
Is there anyone else who wants things done? Speak up or forever keep thy peace :clown:

Deg, you're awesome. Thanks for helping keep this tradition alive.
Vlad, you haven't changed your signature yet. Don't leave me hanging! :clown:
It's come to my attention that TinCows character is a Baron, so here is his updated Arms.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Also, I've been fearlessly putting myself in the firing line for the betterment of humanity and testing new things on me so that all may benefit. As such, and I'm sure you've noticed, I've given myself a second arms to correspond to my land holdings (Bern). If anyone wants this done, speak up.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Odd, I thought I did. Fixed now.
deg a review of my CoA’s is in order.
Henri is now a Baron of the Duchy of Lorraine with ownership of Metz.
Fire away! I’m not sure how these additions can be added.
Well Looks like I am going to need a new coat of arms to get me in the mood for my new avatar.
The idea is along these lines.
A Blue shield with red trim, with a Fleur de Lye at each corner. In the center of the shield is a pear, below it is a horizontal sword, and above it the lion of Aquitaine. :sweatdrop: if I could just see that.
Braden: Most sensical to me would be:
-replace the Aquitaine elements of your Arms (top left) with Lorraine ones
-have Metz as a separate shield (a la my signature)
do you want me to try that out?
Culture:
You could just see that. IMO the Fleur de Lys should perhaps go further down to fill all that blue space, but let me know.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Yeah your totally right, moving the Fleur de Lys down sounds like a good idea.
also, could you tilt the pear to the right a bit? Much obliged
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
hhhmmmm..... I feel like there is still a bit too much space. Let me think of just one more thing to add.
Can I have a white subshield with this boar on it: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Fi...ure_-_Boar.svg
in front of the Lorraine shield (assuming they'll have me) please.
In that case, I'll got nuts with quarters. Have, say, your current shield (lets call it your Family shield) in 2 quarters, one for Lorraine and one for Metz?Quote:
I'll have a look but I'm not a big fan of seperate shields so we might try a quartered shield as well.
Can do. Be aware that so far nobody other than Dukes have used their House shield though. So feel free to design your own if you want.Quote:

:laugh4: Good. I think its busy enough as it isQuote:
nevermind, it should be fine if you just move the Fleur de whats down a bit more
Hmm... I have no idea what my coat-of-arms should look like. So I'll go for something simple:
First, here is the heraldry for La Salle. The lion and the white leopard can be changed to whatever colour you think looks best  Then add in a Lorraine sub-shield in the middle, and I'm happy :beam:
Thanks in advance.
can do. sorry about the wait guys, but my uni week is fairly busy from tuesday to thursday and then i work all of friday, so i'll get onto these on the weekend. shouldn't be long then
ok, first ones done:

Braden, this took the poor student hours, hope you like. the black and white is the Arms of Metz btw:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
get to the other two later today
and the other two, let me know what you think and I'll provide the signature sized ones:
also my i note that all of the Lorrainy vassals save for their Duke have felt the need to incorporate the Lorraine arms. Compensating for something? :clown:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
That'll do me nicely thank you. And it's just because we're very very loyal :clown:
Yes... loyal...
Anyway, my one seems to look weird. Putting a sub-shield on top kinda ruins the effect I think.
Could you please change it so that it is quartered instead?
Lion on the top left, leopard bottom right, Lorraine top right, and something on the bottom left... the symbol for Lorraine again? Or something else entirely? :sweatdrop: Whatever you think is best would do.
Actually, scrap all my ideas, Deguerra can do whatever he wants with my coat of arms, I'm sure it will look brilliant - far better than any of my ideas at the very least
Moved the middle shield one teensy bit as it looked odd:Quote:
That'll do me nicely thank you. And it's just because we're very very loyal
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
If you want my opinion, I'm a simplicist. I saw the arms you sent me and loved them straight away, so I'd just go with them:Quote:

You've had enough time put into your arms. Don't even think of conquering any more or becoming King!Quote:
I like! but you have NO idea how tempting it was to say I hate it and the student has to do it again...I am true evil...muhahahahahah!
:clown: Actually, I think AussieGiant holds the record for number or redesigns by a margin of about 50 :2thumbsup:
Ahh..
Thanks for all the hard work Deg but...
I'm now Duke of Lorraine...need another CoA!
You will? What did you have in mind?
I'm gonna leave that one totally up to you for a change
Hehe.
Well to be perfectly honest, I don't really think you need one. You've got Lorraine covered in your Coat of Arms now. If you want, we could add a second Lorraine quarter in place of one of the other ones, but that's about all I would do.
Your the expert in this..I'll go with what I've got.
Thanks
Hullo again.
Now that I am a Baron, my Coat of Arms needs to be upgraded - just add in the Baron's thingy on it would be enough. Also, if you could help me find the Coat of Arms for Metz it would be great.
