Thoughts From the Host/Host Commentary: Part 1
First off, I would like to thank all who participated in my opening experiment of a game, and for putting up with my errors and rules and such. Now... to the game!
First, I would like to point out to all that although my role setup for this game was "innovative" as some have called, this also meant a fair amount of thought went into each one, as well as a lot of nervousness that it would turn out horribly wrong. Never before, as far to my knowledge, had anyone ever attempted ANY roles which would bring a dead player back to life; I had decided to go with two: Hades and the High Necromancer. I honestly was not totally for sure exactly what would happen as a result myself. Though to be fair, I did give a slight hint to everyone as the game was starting, in post 68.The roles were all decided by drawing paper slips from a baseball cap.Quote:

The ability to slay both doctors, I figured, could make this a game changing role if Woad figured out exactly what his 'special' ability was that I hinted to him at. In all, Woad played almost as well as I could have expected him, though he did take a bit longer to make the connection between his character, and the doctors who became evident after a few nights. Ultimately had no chance to win once Pevergreen sold him out, but gave a valiant effort, going after TinCow twice, and in the process, slaying both doctors, Elite Ferret and Banana Bob. Woad ultimately picked up a very nice list of kills: Both doctors, Hades, and the role blocker. Congrats on a very well played game.
Shiva the Destroyer(Makanyane)-- I honestly had a bit of trouble trying to balance out Shiva to keep some kind of balance with the other mafioso, but I couldn't think of other good ways to utilize the lore around Shiva without making Shiva itself over powered. Thus, I settled for the ability to slay the vigilante under any circumstances. Unfortunately, or perhaps fortunately, Scottishranger, the vigilante, was slain night one by TinCow, and thus was a non factor in the game. Makanyane played pretty well, managing to stay out of the pressure for a while, before ultimately being sold out by Pevergreen.
Michael the Archangel(Warmaster Horus)-- I put Michael in as an attempted counter balance to the role of Lucifer. Michael's one and only special ability was that of being able to slay Lucifer under any circumstances, should the game come to the point where open combat started between the original mafiosi and a new mafia from Lucifer. Unfortunately, WH never became very active, lodging a single kill against Sigurd. He failed to vote consistently, and left me with no choice but to WoG him.
The Kitsune DaiYoukai(Drisos)-- This was another potentially powerful mafia role. Kitsune's, according to legend, were great shape shifters and tricksters. For those not familiar, "youkai" is a creature from Shintoism which is rather like a sort of metaphysical 'spirit' or 'demon' of sorts, although Kitsune were for the most part not by any means considered evil. In Japanese, "Dai" means "Great", so this role essentially translates(roughly) to "The Great Fox Spirit". I'm not quite sure if Drisos ever quite got his head wrapped around what his special ability quite was, but regardless, he was never investigated on a night when he wasn't killing, partly due to the fact that was in fact killing nearly every night before his demise night four at the hands of TinCow.
Hydra(Banana Bob)-- The Hydra was designed to be a doctor, but had an extra little ability. When protecting another, it would have a 25% chance of slaying the attacker in addition to the protection. I wasn't really quite sure what to expect from BB, as this was his first mafia game. I became quite concerned for a couple of nights, when it seemed that he was having some trouble picking up the nuances of Mafia. He failed to submit orders for the first couple nights, and was having issues getting legitimate votes in on time. However, he seemed to start grasping it better starting around night three or so, and played an integral part in the pro-town efforts. Helped to block Pever's attack on Fahad I, night three. Linked up with EliteFerret the same night due to what I assume was intellectual coincidence. Was slain night six by Woad while attempting to protect TinCow.
Cerberus(Elite Ferret)-- Similar to the Hydra role, but I thought it was simply natural that Cerberus be a bit weaker than a Hydra, and thus, I lowered the chance of killing the attacker to 15%. Overall, EF played a solid game. Protected Fahad I on night three, apparently figuring out the pattern already which Pever was following. The subsequent night, protected Banana Bob, once again against an attack by Pever. Ended up being slain night six by Woad while protecting Banana Bob.
Great Djinn(Northnovas)-- The Djinn was a role blocker, the idea being that it would use its magic to seal a player each night inside their cave(home) until day came. Northnovas was active all game long, though ultimately had a lot of misses in the opening acts of the game. During midgame, Pever gave incredibly overt hints to NN that Makanyane was a mafiosette, and that it would be wise to block her. Thus, NN was essentially parked on Makanyane for two turns, until he was slain by Woad while attempting to block Makanyane once more.
Ghostly Spectre 1(Seamus Fermanagh)-- The ghostly spectres were inspired, to a degree, by the Crusader roles from Capo II. Ironic, then, that Seamus of all people would end up getting drawn for one of them. Essentially, each spectre was supposed to be a detective of sorts. They were long lost brothers who had become separated from each other during the chaos of the opening attacks against the Netherworld. Thus, the only way for them to find each other would be to utter their own name from their time on earth as a 'codeword'. To make things a bit interesting, I decided to go with two biblical names, Shem and Ham, both of whom were sons of Noah. Not sure how they would've gotten down in the Netherworld, but whatever... Anyways, Seamus managed to get a fair number investigated, although he "malfed up"(his own words, btw) on night four, failing to get his orders in on time. He managed to get in a reference to Ham in the opening sequences in Post 89 while explaining what WIFOM was to the newer crowd, though this was apparently missed by his partner, or considered accidental. Seamus managed to clear a couple of useful townspeople's names, such as Rythmic and Kommodus, as well as getting guilty results on TinCow and Pevergreen. However, due to the setup and a well played move by TC, the evidence against him was set aside. As a note, I received a couple PM's from Seamus, who was apparently worried that Kommodus was actually guilty, apparently concerned I had used the 'don' function he himself used in Capo II. I consider it ironic he would seem more worried about Kommo, whom he got an innocent result on, then TinCow, whom he got a guilty result on. However, Seamus did lodge some suspicion about TC's innocence at the 11th hour of the game, thought to no avail.
Ghostly Spectre 2(FactionHeir)-- This role was essentially a duplicate of Seamus' role, with the exception that his 'codeword' was Shem instead of Ham. Either didn't notice Seamus' use of Ham earlier, or considered it incidental. PM'd me a bit into the game, wondering where his partner was, due to the fact that Seamus didn't pick up on his use of Ham either. However, FH managed to get his "Shem" out into the open by telling CountArach, his first investigee, when CA lodged this post, thus ensuring he couldn't take any backlash from it. I notified FH that this was dangerously close to quoting me, but that I would let him off with a warning, as I had not made any note that he couldn't reveal the codeword. He managed to clear a few more people's names before being slain by Makanyane, while, ironically, attempting to investigate Makanyane.
Efreet(Scottishranger)-- The efreet was essentially designed to be a pure, pro-town vigelante, nothing more, nothing less. Unfortunately, SR never managed to get a kill off, as he was, ironically, killed by TinCow, who would later claim SR's very role, on night one.
High Necromancer(Kommodus)-- I wasn't sure how this role would really play out. Kommo could start raising people back to life as soon as he wished, but would have to wait three turns following the initial raising in order to do it again. As a note, anyone who was raised by Kommo did retain any and all abilities they had before. Kommo ended up raising two people back to the game, Sigurd in night three, following Sigurd's death to Warmaster Horus in night two. Unfortunately for the town, TinCowhad duped nearly all of them into believing his story, and Kommo waited for his death in order to bring him back immediately, thus nearly ensuring the town's demise.
Lucifer the Deceiver(Pevergreen)-- This was, in retrospect, a role which was far too ambitious, and ripe for rule breaking. Starting as mafioso, Lucifer had the choice to rebel against the mafia and attempt to establish his own mafia, in order to establish his own Netherworld. After three kills, he would be allowed to 'convert' two townspeople whom I would choose(so as to avoid converting pro-town roles to his side). Those two would be allowed to combine each night from then on to kill one player. However, he was expressely forbidden from revealing his partners before the game was down to 8 total players; Pever actually was not lying about it. It was my way of attempting to try and keep the mafia from being sold out quickly to town forces. Unfortunately, it didn't quite seem to work. Pever started the game off by attempting to establish a pattern of going for the person with the second most votes, which was quickly snuffed out by both doctors, Banana Bob and Elite Ferret, thus stymying Pever's efforts. After a bit, Pever's story began unraveling, in addition to the "guilty" result attained by investigation. Pever, under immense pressure, revealed his role, as well as mafia. During post 666(Ironic, eh?:sweatdrop: ), Pever claimed Sarathos was mafia, and that Makanyane was the same as him. This was simply unacceptable to me. Additionally, TinCow had sent me the three quicktopics he was involved him(according to him, it was because I deserved the entertainment). In one, Pever made overt hints and references to the identity of the mafia, thus ensuring their demise. The frequent and overt breaking and circumvention of my rules, and their tremendous impact on the game, was unallowable. Thus, I WOG'D Pever immediately and banned him from any of my future games.
Hades(TinCow)-- My, my, my... TinCow has now established himself as an ace anti-town force. TinCow played this game as well as I think was humanely possible, ending up so far into the town network that, by the end, he was essentially pulling the strings on everything. As for his role: Hades was to begin the game as a serial killer, intent on establishing his own Netherworld and overthrowing moi in the process. After four kills, I told him, he would have extra options made available to him. Upon his fourth kill, I revealed to him that he could raise two people back from the dead, whom would thus become his lackeys. However, his resurrection method was slightly different(though it used the ever useful and multi-tasking Pentagram). Rather than just 'recalling' the player, he recalled their spirit into a new body, one that was capable and dangerous. After two nights, each of those resurrected by him could kill by themself. Before then, they could team up for one, as their spirits became accustomed to their new bodies. Interestingly, Andres quite accurately pegged TinCow for what he was in post 578, as well as accurately summing up the overall function of the role in post 582, noting,Unfortunately for the town, nobody seemed to believe Andres, instead ultimately deciding to lynch Caius instead of TC.Quote:

TinCow expertly put his services to the use of the town, gladly killing whomever they wanted, and ultimately even letting them pick who should be resurrected. After all, wiping out the mafia was benefitial for him as well. Even more amazing, he convinced Kommodus that he was so valuable that Kommo, rather than raising the known detective Seamus, waited an extra night so as to raise TinCow following his inevitable demise at the hands of Woad. Fortunately for TinCow, the town picked two quality players, Ichigo and Proletariat, both of whom are quite good at what they do. Both finished the game expertly, neither one deviating from their usual course. All in all, I, with all honesty, think this was the single best performance I've ever seen in a mafia game, period. I think TinCow will get a well deserved HoF nomination for his efforts in this game, and I'll give him a well deserved  in the meantime.
Well, I'm about 1/2 done, I'll put up the other half of my commentary up later.
Me wants other half of commentary :whip:Quote:

Thoughts From the Host/Host Commentary: Part Deux
This time around, I'll be exploring the happenings of the game on a round by round basis.
Night One:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
First of all, we have perhaps one of the most significant kills in the game. TinCow went straight after the Capo de Tutti Capi, Scottishranger, and put him down night one. The significance of this would become apparent later to me in the game, when TC claimed SR's role for his own. Had SR been still alive, he could have likely refuted this claim, and changed the whole fate of the game, likely towards a townie victory. Additionally, Seamus started right off the bat by investigating Kommodus, originally to check what holmes was up to. However, he very much cleared Kommo's name for the rest of the game, though it proved to be of little avail, as Kommo was just as fooled as everyone else by TC's role claim. FactionHeir investigated CountArach, whom he would later use as a confidant to reveal his codename. Interestingly, I did not hear from Banana Bob, nor Pevergreen on night one, which originally got me quite concerned that I wouldn't have very active role players. However, both would eventually begin picking up their activity, and the reason for Pever's night one absence would eventually be explained by the role he attempted to portray. After that, not a whole lot of huge significance.
Day One:
Lots of random votes sent out, along with the customary Caius meatball vote that invariably occurs every first round of seemingly every game. Sasaki was the third meatballer, and thus ended up getting quite a few votes for it. Beefy187, apparently missing the bit about townies not receiving a PM, made a faintly scummy way of requesting clarification and ended up on the receiving end of a lynch. Honestly, folks, I get really tired of seeing lynches for this reason. Any half decent mafioso is going to make sure they read the rules damn well, and make sure any inexperienced partners do likewise, cuz this sort of thing always happens to folks who don't read them through. Imo, this is one of the worst reasons to lynch someone, especially in the first round. Its worse than random.
Night Two:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Another night, and this time even more kills. I was rather pleased to receive orders from four different killers, indicating optimal participation from their side(s). I was quite curious why Pevergreen decided to kill Sasaki at this point. Usually, Sasaki's left on board, especially in thsi situation, to take heat while the killers can all lie low. However, his attempted plan did sorta start to play out over the next couple nights.
However, the pro-town side was a bit stagnant. FactionHeir investigated Proletariat, only to find a limp corpse when he got there. I did, however, give him that Proletariat was indeed innocent, at the time of her death. Meanwhile, Seamus investigated Yaropolk. Honestly, I have absolutely no idea what Seamus was thinking when he did this investigation. Perhaps it was random? Perhaps he thought I would make sure to give a newcomer a role? Either way, Yaropolk was soon wog'd for lack of participation, and thus, the town got two rather useless investigations for night two. Additionally, I got NO protection orders this night, with EF being inactive for the night as well as Banana Bob. I was a bit concerned at this point that perhaps the town would get steamrolled by the combined anti-town forces. What with the multitude of kill, the bad luck by the detectives, and lack of participation by the doctors, I was thinking this would quickly turn into a massive bloodbath between three eventual factions. However, there was still more yet to come.
Day Two:
We started the round with a bit of questioning of me, regarding the nature of the writeups, and just how to analyze them. Of course, the writeups, in actuality, provided, at this point, almost no information at this point, and lots of time was, frankly, wasted trying to figure out what was what. Rythmic took up a lead position for the town, trying to get some good discussion going, but ultimately was pretty off in terms of what he was trying to get accomplished. In the end, TruePraetorian was lynched, with the deciding vote lodged by Ichigo. TP was really not given much to defend himself, in retrospect, due to the fact that he didn't have internet access. I think the town can get better lynches than that on day two. Lurkers really shouldn't be targeted until day four, after wog's have usually been first issued. Then a legitimate claim of lurking can really be issued towards players. However, sometimes folks just lose access to the .org and lynches probably should try to take into account for that fact this early into the game.
Night Three:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Yay! Three cheers for participation! Two mafia kills, one Hades kill, one Lucifer kill, two protections, two investigations, a raising from the dead, and a block! I was quite happy to get my max level of participation before the roles started killing each other off pretty soon. First off, we had the mostly unusual event of a player being raised from the dead. Kommodus, possibly with the in thread statements made by Sigurd regarding his killer, deduced that Sigurd was quite innocent, and brought him back. Ordinarily, Sigurd's a very useful person to have on one's side, especially once he's been killed. For once, he got a second shot! Anyways, only one major event for this round, as Pevergreen was blocked by both doctors, who apparently had both deduced his scheme of going for the player with the 2nd most votes from the voting session. Pever was a bit lucky to escape alive. Additionally, it only made sense to me that if both doctors are protecting the same person and both get called to action, that they would link up to work together. Thus, both EF and BB were now in contact and could perhaps better coordinate their efforts to save the town. Meanwhile, Seamus investigated Rythmic to find out where his intentions lied, after Rythmic had begun to be quite vocal in the thread. I was feeling a bit more hopeful now about having a balanced game, now that the pro-town efforts were seeming to have gotten their act together. As a side not, in case nobody noticed, but I was attempting to make Pever begin to seem more demonic the more that he continued attempting to kill, and started with a black hood, which was Pever's suggestion. I put it in, as it pretty much fit into my plans for the role anyways.
Day Round 3:
We begin to see the TinCow/Andres debate begin to unfold. TinCow does a slight reveal, and Andres immediately hounds him over it, requesting information at the expense of a 'townie' whom TC allegedly revealed to. I'm thinking it was Rythmic, but I can't be for sure. What did we learn from this experience, folks? Andres is moderator of the gameroom for a reason. He's more often right than he is wrong, and this time, he was dead right. However, the town instead took the bait of Joe Monks, whom voted for Sasaki(who was already long dead), while waiting for writeups(aka-nightphase). In the end, the town got very, very close to lynching TC, but ended up deciding to 'give him a night' to prove his innocence to those whom he had 'revealed' to. This gave TC just the time he needed to play along with the town and completely win over their trust, despite the nearly sheer absurdity of the role he'd end up claiming for pro-town.
Also of major note, I was finally forced to WoG Warmaster Horus, who was playing the part of Michael the Archangel. Its always a big blow to the mafia when one of the members is WoG'd, as every mafioso is critical to success.
Night Round 4:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
It seemed the doctors were now doing a good job of coordinating efforts. Unfortunately, they were protecting what would prove to be the ultimate evil. Also, their continued use of protecting one player while protecting the protector would ultimately backfire on them later. Woad&Fangs killed Ichigo, whom would end up serving TC later quite ably. Also of note, Seamus turned in orders late, and thus, his did not get a result for this round. Meanwhile, his partner FactionHeir investigated TinCow, getting a guilty result on him. However, it should be noted that I alerted the detectives that anyone who killed, including vigelantes, would come up as guilty, as well as any mafioso. It would seem that FH bought the claim by TC that he was a vig, and thus, this investigation ended up going for naught. In other news, it became apparent that Pevergreen had linked up with some of the townies, and had convinced Northnovas to park himself on Makanyane, preventing her kill attempt on Andres. A blow to the mafia, as well, with the death of Drisos, who was playing quite well. They would have had a much better chance, imo, if TC had chosen someone else this night.
Day Round 4:
Well, it was bound to happen eventually, it always does. Caius finally met his doom at the lynching table, as the town finally lost patience with the fact that he continually kept lodging 'abstain' votes rather than taking a stance or offering analysis. TinCow finally gave an all out "reveal", which was detailed enough that the town figured there was no way it could have been faked. During the round, TC left the choice of his resurrections to the town to decide. As he most certainly had hoped, the town gave him two capable weapons, Proletariat and Ichigo. Also, Kommodus finally gave out his results on Holmes, though not much was really contributed by it. The town decided to stop its occasional hounding of him over the results, and stuck with their chosen path of Caius, despite Holmes' claim of innocence for Caius.
Night Round 5:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Banana Bob and Elite Ferret took up the town's advice of mutual protection for this round, and thus (nearly) assured their safety. Northnovas once again was attempting to block Mak, but was killed during the effort. Consequently, Mak got her kill in on FactionHeir, whom was, ironically, on his way to investigate Mak. Thus, the town lost both a blocker and a detective this round, strong blows to the town's efforts. I was, at this point, beginning to think once again that this would become rather difficult for the tow, as they were beginning to have their role player's wittled down, and I figured it would only be a matter of time before Woad figured out(or chanced at) that his ability(as Herekles) was to be able to kill the doctors and would consequently go after them. On the other hand, Seamus got his investigation in on time, and got his guilty result on Pevergreen, which I figured would likely mean his end, as the town seemed to have been a bit skeptical of his potential role earlier on. Also potentially hurting Pever's cause was the fact that he, finally, decided to go after someone other than the person with the 2nd most votes, going after Andres instead. My guess is he figured TC would be protected, and wanted to start getting some real kills in. Ironically, TC was actually open game this round, totally unprotected.
Day Round 5:
Well, this started rather pleasantly, then got really ugly for me. I got a PM from TinCow, who said he thought I deserved some entertainment as game host, and thus, game me links to all threads he had access to. However, it got ugly when I read the thread, and what Pevergreen was putting up. He not only revealed his role(well, sorta), but also revealed mafia teammates, specifically Makanyane. He also, I noticed, gave very overt hints that Woad was mafia as well, in the quicktopic. I was, quite frankly, furious, and immediately posted that Pever was WoG'd and banned. I had told him specifically not to sell out his teammates until the game was down to 8 players or less, and he attempted to wrangle around the rules. In the end, I decided to follow up on the suggestion laid out by TinCow that I skip the lynch today, so as to make the game less unbalanced towards the town. I was now quite positive that the mafia had no chance inheller, I mean, heaven, of winning this game. It would come down to whether or not the town figured out TC's act.
Also, as a sidenote, there was one post which brightened my day. Banana Bob posted this. Generally, when I'm playing as a townie, people lose my trust when I find out they tried to kill me. :jester:
Night Round 6:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Well, this was an interesting writeup to do. I was tempted to prelude the writeup with something along the lines of: Super Smash Gods- Brawl!:jester: Much like William Faulkner's novel, The Light in August, the main characters were finally all tying themselves together. Mak going after Seamus, TinCow going after Mak, Woad going after TinCow, Banana Bob protecting TinCow, and Elite Ferret protecting Banana Bob. :dizzy: In the end, this writeup turned into one massive, all out brawl between three different sides. For those curious how exactly this whole thing worked out: Mak killed Seamus uncontested. As note, Seamus didn't get results before perishing. TinCow killed Mak, pretty much uncontested. However, Woad's target was TinCow, protected by a guy who was protected as well. In the end, I put it down to my logic. It would seem only natural that Herekles would continue battle with both protectors, as he had started with one, and then transitioned to another. The doctors would stay to make sure their quarry was protected, as that was their number one goal, above their own survival. And I figured that TC would only logically flee after his goal was accomplished, having no reason to stay. Of course, the combatants wouldn't have much time to be peaking over their shoulder whilst fighting a monstrous hero. Since Herekles' special ability was to be able to slay the doctors in battle, they fell, while he continued onwards.
Day Round 6:
Well, we started with some pretty good analysis of what happened, as the town(and TC) scrambled to figure out what exactly had happened. TC had apparently hoped to keep at least one of the doctors alive to help protect himself for the coming nights. Alas, not to be. However, a rather confusing statement was issued by GH, who claimed to be Baphomet, wanting his army from Atropos. As I would soon find out from reading the town quicktopic, this was an attempt to make sure that the mafia didn't kill Kommodus, the necromancer, before he could raise another person from the dead. Didn't seem to end up mattering much, as GH turned out to be a late kill anyways, after Kommodus issued his final order. Discussion swung from Hannibalbarc, due to a post requesting to be investigated, to Woad, but in the end, a tie was had, and Woad broke it, ensuring his life for one more round, at least.
Night round 7:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Heh, not much tonight. With most of the role players now dead, and Kommodus quite apparently waiting for TinCow to be killed, this was all that was left to do. A one vs. one duel between Hades and Herekles. I had fun doing the writeup, and in the end, both perished. I always(except in the case of doctors) gave the advantage to the attackers, and as both were attacking the other, both had to perish. Thus, we have the official end of the mafia.(along with a very confused mafia to boot).
Day Round 7:
Not a lot of discussion went on. Drisos decided to go maverick a bit, urging the town to look inwards at their own group for the lynch, specifically GH. Of course, GH didn't actually have a role, so the town happily ignored Drisos, and instead, Sarathos was nearly unanimously lynched for his inactivity and undeclared innocence. Also, CA was WoG'd for not participating, even after he had posted that he finally had gotten time for mafia earlier in the thread that day.
Night Round 8:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Well, its now official. The town has taken TC's bait, hook, line, and sinker, with Kommodus having actually waited an extra turn so as to raise TinCow back from the dead. The game was, for all intensive purposes, over. I would have been very, very surprised if they'd figured out what was going on soon enough to save their rear ends, and in the end, they wouldn't. Ichigo got his first kill in, with his new persona as the poor, soul seeking demon.
Day Round 8:
First of all, I was a bit dissapointed to start this round. Omanes noted that he would have to suicide, and Mouzaphaerre requested that he suicide as well. Although to be fair, it wouldn't really matter in the end if the town didn't lynch someone of Team Hades. In the end, they continued down their list of 'unproven' townies, and unanimously lynched Crazed Rabbit, who offered his hilarious take on the lynch following his death. At this point, victory for Team Hades was now just a mere formality.
Night Round 9:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
And victory at last for Team Hades! TinCow decided to go for the ironic effect by killing his personal saviour, Kommodus, and reducing him to ash, while Ichigo and Prole seemingly went for random kills, leaving only Fahad I to oppose them. Overall, a well played game by Team Hades, and I once again congratulate them on their impressive performance.
Well, folks, that's all! I had a blast hosting this game, and I hope you had just as much fun(if not more) playing the game. It was interesting to watch the chaos from a bird's eye view, it really does give a different perspective. Anyways, I'll hopefully see y'all next time...
I decided to target Andres, as TC knew my kill sign, so if I went after him I would have died.
The game could have turned out quite differently if I just killed someone unproven that night.
It was Northnovas. At the very start of the game, before any night actions had been posted, we had the following PM exchange:Quote:

I figured that was a bad sign for me, so I thought I should prepare an alibi. I thus wrote a 'neutral' role PM in a style similar to kamikhaan's and sent it to myself. I knew I couldn't post it, but it was my intention to use that role as my reference point whenever I referred to what I could do, just to make sure that I never contradicted myself in any statements.Quote:

I was able to exploit my n00bness well in Capo, so I figured it might still work in my second mafia game. I definitely won't be able to use that strategy again. Northnovas believed me, probably because no sane mafia would have admitted to killing two people to a pro-town role after the second night. I gained his trust then by killing the person he suggested I kill. At the same time, Northnovas then contacted Rythmic due to Rythmic's high-quality analysis post, revealed his own pro-town role, and hinted that he knew a more powerful pro-town role. Thus, when I came under lynch pressure, Rythmic believed my claim because Northnovas had already vouched for it before the previous night phase. Somehow pevergreen got pulled into this group as well, but I don't remember how. At that point I didn't care, because the more people who vouched for me, the better. I thought the mafia would let me live because I was controversial, which is always good for the mafia during lynch votes. The rest was all done via the quicktopic boards.Quote:
